“Gabby…” Samantha whined from the couch as Gabby passed her in a silk robe and a messy bun.

“Too much whiskey?” Gabby laughed.

“Just because you don’t get hung over does not mean you can make fun of us lesser people,” Samantha muttered.

“Chill, I’ve already ordered Chinese food.”

“You’re the greatest,” Samantha smiled. It had always been their hangover cure in high school and college.

“I know. Did Courtney ever come home last night?”

“She did, she’s in my room on the floor. We had to move out here because Brad and Olivia were so God damn loud,” Samantha whined.

“We?” Gabby asked; it was then that she noticed Ryan, clad only in boxers and completely passed out on the couch. “I don’t want to know,” she shook her head and walked to the kitchen for some coffee.

Gabby leaned against the counter and stirred her coffee absent-mindedly; she couldn’t believe she flirted with one of Jonathan’s teammates. In college she wouldn’t have minded, he broke her heart when she found out he had a fiancée from the front cover of a local tabloid. She couldn’t believe how stupid she was to believe all of his lies. She still felt incredibly guilty when she saw them together last night.

“So, you do realize that you hit on your ex-adulterer’s best friend and teammate right in front of him last night, right?” Ryan said as he gingerly walked into the kitchen and leaned against the counter next to her.

“How do you know that?” Gabby asked incredulously.

“Sam talks too much when she’s drunk,” Ryan explained as Gabby poured him a cup of coffee.

“Bitch,” she muttered and handed him the coffee.

“Thanks,” he smiled.

“So, was last night up there on your list?”

“Fuck no, I told you that you should’ve gone to Ole Miss instead of stuffy Georgetown,” she laughed.

“If I had gone to Ole Miss I would have never graduated. You being my best friend and all,” he shrugged as the two laughed.

“What can I say? I’m a party girl,” Gabby shrugged and bat her eyes innocently.

Ryan rolled his eyes, “So what if that blonde guy calls you back?”

Gabrielle felt a surge of emotion; her shallow, bitchy sorority girl was begging to break back in. Have some fun, make him jealous, her mind screamed. She had flashbacks to all the times he lied to her to go to his fiancée and he told her she was the only one.

“Then I’m going out with him,” she shrugged bitterly.

“I’m sorry, how old are you? You’re going to use this poor guy to get back at some ex?” Ryan asked.

“I’m not using him! Patrick’s attractive and charming, he could be a lot of fun,” Gabby defended.

“I’m so proud to see that you’ve grown up since college,” Ryan rolled his eyes.

“Aw, you too. So did you have fun with Sam last night Mr. I’m-So-Grown-Up?” Gabby shot; his smirk immediately dropped.

“Shut up,” was his only retort.

“Thought so,” Gabby found his smirk and walked out of the room to take a shower. As soon as she stripped down and turned on the shower, preparing for the water to completely relax her, the phone rang.

Gabby groaned as she ran, naked, to the phone and answered. “Hello?” she asked, walking back to the bathroom to turn off the water.

Hey, this is Patrick, is Gabrielle there?” he asked politely.

“Speaking,” she grinned.

“Well hey, what are you up to?”

“I was just about to get in the shower when you called,” Gabby smirked.

But instead of being embarrassed he responded with a smug tone; “Cleaning up after last night?

“Something like that,” she shrugged.

Well, I won’t keep you from your shower too long, I just wanted to ask you to dinner tomorrow night,” Gabby could hear the smirk in his voice.

“I think I’m free, what did you have in mind?”

“Dinner in a small restaurant around eight and maybe some dessert later?” he asked smugly.

“We’ll see about the dessert,” Gabby smirked, “Bye, Patrick.” Gabby hung up and immediately turned the shower back on with a big smile on her face. Part of her felt like a complete bitch for doing this to Jonathan, another part knew he deserved it, and her third and final part couldn’t wait to go out with Patrick. The confidence in his voice made her certain that he would be able to hang on for the ride in their relationship… if it even got that far.

Gabby got out of the shower and left her hair messy and wet, put on some sweatpants, and went to eat Chinese food with her best friends. Despite her lack of makeup, her messy hair, and comfy clothes, Gabby felt confident as she strut into the kitchen.

“Why do you have that mischievous smirk on your face?” Olivia asked skeptically.

“I just got a date tomorrow night with a very attractive hockey player,” she smirked.

“When did this happen?” Olivia asked excitedly.

“While you were sucking face with Brad,” Sam rolled her eyes and turned her glare towards Gabby. At least she could keep a secret sober.

“Do you know anything about hockey?” Brad asked.

“Absolutely nothing,” Gabby shook her head with an amused smile.

“That should make for some great conversation,” Brad nodded sarcastically.

“Yes, because as you know from experience it’s conversation that makes the date,” Courtney shot and Olivia snickered.

“Besides, I am an actress. I can make conversation. Improv is legit,” Gabby pointed.

“Legit is so two years ago,” Courtney rolled her eyes.

“So was your dress last night,” Gabby retorted and Courtney gave her the middle finger.

“You know, I think there’s a baseball game on right now if you want to go watch,” Ryan said, looking at Brad.

“Sounds good, the amount of estrogen in this room is choking me,” Brad nodded, both grabbing their plates filled with Chinese food and leaving for the living room.

“I can’t believe you’re going out with that guy,” Sam sighed as soon as they left.

“He’s independently rich, hot, and famous. We know he won’t use her for any of those things, now all we have to worry about is using her for sex,” Olivia shrugged.

“Yeah, then when you get tired of him, send him my way,” Courtney winked.

“Sure thing, sweet cheeks,” Gabby winked back.

“You two are sick,” Samantha pointed at the two girls.

“Maybe just a little,” Gabby shrugged with a mock innocence. Samantha continued her hard stare in Gabby’s direction and she knew she wouldn’t be getting out of a proper scolding for her sultry scheme.
