One-Shot Stories

July 2017. It is the middle of the summer. Hockey season was over until mid-September and all the players were enjoying some rest and relaxation before training camp began in a little over two months. Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene was hoping for a new part of his life to begin: fatherhood. He has been married to his beautiful wife Savannah for a little over thirteen months now and wanted to be a dad so bad, plus his parents constantly asked for a grandchild.

Matt and Savi were on vacation in Cancun for the next two days prior to visiting her parents and family in her hometown of Tampa, Florida. With the sounds of the ocean, the private hotel suite and hot tub on their balcony, Matt felt it was a perfect time to convince his wife to start a family.

The couple just returned from a beachside picnic and decided to get a couples' massage soon. It felt so nice to just relax and enjoy some serenity. Savi came in the room, wearing her robe, "I'm going to pop in the shower before we head down."

"Okay babe. You know, we haven't had the baby talk in a while," Matt quietly spoke.

Savi gave her husband a look, "Matt, I don't want to have a baby now."

"But why? You'd make such a great mom! You are so good with your niece all the time," Matt said.

Savi sighed, "Because it's easy when I give her back to my brother. This would be our baby. Us as the parents. Being a mom scares me."

"Baby, it scares me too. But discovering it together is part of the journey. We can do it together," Matt insisted.

Savi looked at her husband, "Babe, I don't know. It's so much. You start hockey in twelve weeks, I start work at the same time." Savi got a job as a weekend entertainment reporter at a local TV station in Denver to keep herself occupied when Matt is on the road.

"Savannah Grace, I love you so much. You mean the world to me and I know you will be an amazing mom. You trust me, right?" Matt asked.

"With all my heart," Savi nodded.

Matt took her hands, "Then believe me when I say what a great mom you will be. We have been married over a year. You will be an amazing mom. I promise. I love you so much baby."

Savi started shaking, "Matt. I...I don't know."

"If we become intimate and you don't want to go further, or if you want me to wear a condom, I will. Just say it," Matt added.

Savi took a deep breath and looked at her husband, "After dinner. 10 PM. Let's make a baby."

Matt lit up like a Christmas tree, "Really!? You mean it!?"

"Yes Matt. I want a child that resembles our love and passion for one another," Savi confessed.

Matt kissed his wife so deeply, "You're gonna be one hell of a mom!"

And a night of passion would soon follow....
