It all started in Dallas

You were lookin forward to seein your family as you hadn’t visited them in a few years. Life in Dallas and the move to Pit had taken all your time in havin chance to see them. Your plane was about to land when you felt the excitement grow as you thought of Sid meetin your family. You knew they were goin to love him just as you already did. You knew you loved Sid but you didn’t want to tell him since he hadn’t said it either. You’ve only told one guy that you loved him and he had ended up cheatin on you, so ever since then you never said it again, but mostly because you never felt that way about anyone until Sid came along.
As you were waitin to get your dog, you felt someone tap your shoulder to see that it was your brother. He was the only one pickin you up as everyone was gettin ready back home. Everyone was excited that they were goin to a hockey game however you guys bein from California you all rooted for LA which was now a tough choice since you were datin Sid. On your guy’s way home you saw that you had few texts from Sid
Sid: So I forgot to ask you if you would like to stay with me or if you were going with your family? Lol
You: hahah its okay
I’ll stay with my folks
Haven’t seen my fam in a while so I wanna catch up
Sid: Cool, no worries :)
How are the girls? (referrin to you and your dog)
You: Lol all well Sid
And my boy?
Sid: Oh I’m yours eh ? ;)
Pretty good, settling in the hotel
I’ll head out to yours in a bit
Readin the last text made your heart beat faster, both in excitement and nerves.
Your brother asked you about how Sid was and if he was comin. He said that you looked happy as ever and he prayed that Sid was it for you.
Your family lived about 35 mins east of LA so it was nice to be out of the city.
When you guys arrived your family was waiting outside ready to give you hugs.
One by one they all hugged you and kissed you sayin how happy they were to have you back.
Your mom even cried a little as you were her baby.
They were also happy to see your dog.
You guys were gettin dinner ready and yourself ready when Sid said he was out 10 mins from your folks place.
You pretty much hid in the guest room upstairs until you heard your mom yellin at you in Spanish that someone was here.

You were expectin Sid to be inside but your mom said someone was here because she saw a truck pull up on the driveway. Your family was actually peerin in through the window waitin to see Sid.
You walked outside on your own to welcome him, you opened the truck door to give him a kiss. He was dressed really nice but somewhat casual to where he still looked handsome as ever.
“Hey beautiful, you ready?” he asked you smilin
“Question is, are YOU ready? It is MY family after all”
“Hmm not for long” he mumbled
“What?”
“Nothing, you know it seems like you’re the one that’s nervous” he said teasin you
“Ughh yeah a bit” you said WAY MORE THAN A BIT
You walked back inside to the house Sid followin you. When you walked in everyone was lined up, includin the kids this isn’t awkward.
“Hey guys this is Sidney” you said as look at Sid who looked as calm as ever.
“Hi, it’s nice to finally meet (Y/N)’s family, took a little conving eh but glad she thought I was good enough to meet you guys” he said as he handed your mom flowers and food.
Your mom was the first to greet him with a hug and a kiss on the cheek followed by your sister, sister-in-laws, and nieces.
Your dad, brothers and nephews were next to shake Sid’s hand sayin it was nice to finally meet him.
“So you’re not fake” joked your brother-in-law
“Nope I’m real haha”
“I thought (Y/N) had a imaginary boyfriend all along haha”
You guys sat down to have dinner followed by you and your brothers watchin football. Your guy’s tradition was to open Christmas presents at midnight, hence why you guys were up late.
When you got up to help your sis clean the kitchen for a bit, your brothers began askin Sid questions.
“So what are your intentions Sidney?” one of them asked, as the other one’s leaned in closer.
“Honestly guys, I’m falling for your sister, she’s an amazing, smart, a bit sassy haha but the sweetest girl, I’m very lucky to have her in my life” he said seriously.
“Good, don’t break her heart, we’re cops too so we don’t want to do anythin” they joked
“Plus, we know she feels the same way about you, you’re the first guy she’s ever brought home” they added.
“Really?!” he asked shocked, "what about that other guy she was in love with?”
“Uhhh I mean she loved him and all but never felt it was the right time for him to meet us”
“It’s like she knew it wasn’t goin to last” your other brother added.
“Well that makes me feel nice” Sid said smiling as you came back to sit on the couch next to him
“Mannn I feel like a stuffed sausuage” you said as you unbuckled your pants a bit
“Hey (Y/N) you wanna go to the gun range after Chrismas?” your brother asked
“Yeah I’m down, we have to go early though”
“Yeah sounds good to me”
As it came down to midnight, you guys hugged each other sayin Merry Christmas and started opening your presents one by one. The kids went first and then you guys, you were glad that you got Sid more than a few small gifts so he wouldn’t feel left out. Your family must’ve felt the same way as you noticed that a few presents had Sid’s name on it.
“So we got him some presents too” your sis said as she handed them to Sid
“I did too haha, here you go Sidney” you said givin him yours as well.
“Aw guys you didn’t have to” he said politely
He opened your family’s first, each of them gave him clothes.
When he got to yours he looked at you and smiled, you got him a watch, jacket and customized jeans.
“How’d you know my size?” he asked
“Phil” you said as he rolled his eyes.
“Thanks alot guys I appreciate the gifts!” he said as he hugged all of them and gave you a hug.
“I have something for you” he said to you
“Okay but first, guys Sid’s Christmas present to you was that he is takin all of us to the game tomorrow and if you guys want the next day against Anaheim!” you said causin everyone to cheer in excitement
“Question is, who are you rootin for?” your brother-in-law asked shit
“Uhmmm--” “Before you answer hon, I have to give YOU something” Sid said as he headed out towards the truck.
He came back in with 4 presents for you, one big box and a few small ones and a medium size box.
“Here, I really hope you like this” he said a bit nervous
“Aw thanks Sidney” you said givin him a kiss
You opened the small ones first, one was a G-Shock, he knew those were your fav.
The next one was a customized tank top of Wonder Woman in a police officer uniform and a Wonder Woman wooden phone case.
Each time you smiled at Sid and said thank you. Sid just looked at you to see if you liked your gifts so far.
The medium size box was a pair of cowboy boots and now on to the large box.
“I think this might answer your question” he referred to your brother-in-law.
You opened the box to pull out a black Crosby jersey, then a Pens hockey shirt, then a Pens cap and finally a Pens scarf.
“Well well well, who are you goin to root for, Jeff Carter or Crosby?” you brother-in-law teased.
You turn to see your whole family lookin at you tryin not to smile, your mom looked at you and nodded as if to know what you were thinkin.
“I’m very glad you didn’t get me crocs Sidney hahaha, but I appreciate everythin you gave me includin the Pens gear”
“You did say you didn’t have any” he beamed, “plus it doesn’t matter who you root for tomorrow when we play the Kings, as long as you’re there that’s all that matters” he said.
You tried on the new gear and playfully said “well this burns”
Sid just stuck his tongue out to you, smirked and said “well get used to it because you’ll be wearing that for quite a while” twirlin you around to see his last name on you.
“Yeah for like a day”
“Nope like forever hahah, ANYWAYS I have to get goin, early practice tomorrow”. You looked at your sis and she gave you a look, to which you shook you head, to which she gave you a dirty look causin you to mouth the word fine.
“Sid, I should take you so you can sleep on your way there, don’t want to be at fault for y’all not playin well because the Captain didn’t get enough rest” you said as you took the keys from his hand.
“Sure” he said, which surprised you that he didn’t object a bit.
You said bye to your family as you guys left back towards LA to the hotel.
As soon as you guys left the neighborhood Sid knocked out. You turned on the radio surprised to be hearin Kip Moore’s Hey Pretty Girl, you thought it was the station but then saw that Sid had connected his phone for it to play earlier.
You looked at Sid sound asleep and smiled, looked up and thanked God for bringin Sid into your life.
When you guys arrived you woke up Sid as you headed into the parkin lot, you parked the truck and got him to wake up.
“Sidney, wake up, we’re here” you shuffled him a bit causin him to finally open his eyes.
“(Y/N) please don’t go, stay here” he said groggily
“Sidney, I don’t know, I’m not ready for that” you said quietly
“I don’t want you to stay to have sex with me (Y/N), I would like for you to stay to sleep here but nothing more” he said more awake now.
“Nothin more?” you assured
“Nothin more, not until you’re ready, I’m not here to pressure you into anything” he said softly
“Well I didn’t bring anythin”
“It’s okay I have extra pair of clothes if you’d like them”
“Well alrighty then” you said as you pulled out your phone to text your sis that you were stayin her replyin yesssss.
You guys headed up to the hotel room, although you knew Sid wasn’t goin to pressure you, you were still a bit nervous. You’d never slept on the same bed with a guy, it’s always been you on your own.
Sid gave you his extra pair of tshirt and sweats which both fit you pretty big but was very comfy and you loved the fact that it smelled like Sid.
Sid was gettin ready to lay down when he got up to go to the couch as he left you the bed. You shook your head at him.
“No Sidney it’s okay, we can sleep on the same bed if that’s okay with you?” you asked
“Of course, it’s okay with me, I wasn’t sure about you which was why I was going on the couch”
“Good, no funny business” you smirked at him
“Yeah I said I wouldn’t knock you up soon remember” he said as he raised his hands as if to be innocent. All you did was roll your eyes and tuck yourself in bed.
Sid and you stared at the ceilin for a bit, both of your minds were runnin, until Sid broke the silence.
“You know this is nice, I feel comfortable having you here. I felt comfortable with your family, like I knew them for a while. They didn’t have to get me presents though” he said
“I’m glad you were happy with them Sidney, it felt nice havin you there too”
Sid then turned sideways to face towards you
“I would really love it if you can meet my family” he said
“Of course Sidney, let me know when”
“Okay, New Years it is then”
WHAT
“New Year’s? I thought you were in Pit?”
“Yeah I am, but they’re coming down too”
“Ohhhh okay, well then New Year’s it is” you said as you yawned causin Sid to do so as well.
“Good night (Y/N)”
“Good night Sid and thank you” you said, kissin his cheek and goin to sleep.
