Got It All In The End

Can This Get Any Worse

{A Few Weeks Later}

It had been a fews weeks since the whole incident with her mother just popping up in the middle of dinner. Carson had been throughly embarrassed and had wanted to hide from Jacks family. She thought they would hate her and want Jack to break up with him. Thankfully they had been completely supportive of her.

Now it had been enough time for things to start settling down, but than again they were starting to kick up again. With Christmas right around the corner. She had no clue what her and Jack were going to do. It was technically their first Christmas together, since the year before didn't count since they were just getting to know each other. She knew that Jacks family wasn't going to be able to come in for Christmas, but they had offered for her and Jack to come up to Michigan.

Jack and Carson both told his parents they would let them know soon, as they needed to discuss what they wanted to do. Now two weeks later she still didn't know what they were doing. Her and Jack had talked about what they wanted to do, but the hadn't come decision yet.

Now Carson found herself walking through the mall on her only day off for the next week. Trying to figure out what to get for Jack. Well pretty much more like Jack had kicked her out for the day. Even though he knew it was her only day off during the next week. She thought that maybe he would want to do something with her, since they hadn't spent much time together lately.

Walking the Starbucks in the mall Carson was barely paying attention. Than at the last minute decided that a hot chocolate sounded good right about than. Turning around she walked into the Starbucks and went and stood in line. After moving up in the line and ordering her hot chocolate, Carson moved off to the side and waited for her drink.

Looking around the store she took in the large decorated tree in one corner of the store. There were tons of lights placed around the store, also. Just as her name was called by the cashier she caught sight of something she never thought she would see. She could have sworn that Jack had told her that he some meeting this morning. But what kind of meeting was held at Starbucks.

Carson grabbed her cup and slowly made her way over towards the table where Jack was sitting at. Keeping her head turned away from him slightly, so he wouldn't see her or at least hopefully not recognize her.

The thing that shocked her the most was he wasn't sitting there only or even a teammate. But was sitting with some female, she didn't recognize the female as the females back was towards her. But she could hear the laughter coming from the table. Becoming slightly startled by the laughter, she accidently bumped into the table.

"O-oh my I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching....... Jack?" Carson asked, trying to look shocked.

"Carson?" Jack asked, just as shocked. Although his was guienuen shock, unlike hers.

"What are you doing here? I thought you had a meeting of some sort?" Carson asked, flicking her eyes towards the girl who was sitting there scowling at her.

"Ummmm I was. I mean I did. I mean this is the meeting," Jack said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yes we're having a cup of coffee. So move along now," the girl with him finally spoke up.

Carson turned towards the girl about to ask just who in the hell she was and what she was doing with Jack, when he beat her to the punch.

"Uh Carson, this is..... Uh this is the winner of my jersey from that twitter contest," Jack informed Carson.

"Oh and you happen to be meeting them for coffee?" Carson asked, tilting her head and looking back at Jack.

"Yes I won his jersey from the twitter contest," the girl replied, resting her hand on top of Jacks on the table. "Also not that it's really any of your business, but Jack and I go way back."

"Oh?" Carson replied, turning her attention back to this girl sitting with Jack. She heard Jack groan and out of the corner of her eye could see his head drop down.

"Yes I'm his girlfriend..... Well I mean his ex-girlfriend..... But I'm hoping we can get back together. So who are you? Since and Jack seem to know each other," the girl asked, looking back and forth between us.

The only thing Carson got out of that was ex-girlfriend and it felt like a slap to the face to Carson.

"Oh well I'm the...... Well I don't know what I am now...... I was the girlfriend," Carson replied, with a sarcastic smile.

"Carson," Jack replied, trying to reach for her hand.

"I'm so sorry to interrupt. I'll just leave you two to get reacquainted," Carson replied, moving her hand away from Jacks and setting her cup on the table.

She just wanted to get out of there. Now that she had been throughly embarrassed. She now understood why Jack hadn't been home recently.

"Carson..... Carson hold up," Jack called after her.

Carson sped up her pace trying to escape him.

"Carson just wait a minute. It's not what you think, if you would just let me explain," Jack said again, grabbing her wrist.

"No Jack I do get it. You've made it pretty clear the last couple of weeks," Carson replied, still not looking at him.

"What are you talking about?" Jack asked.

"Don't worry my shit will be out of your place by the time you get home," Carson snapped, pulling her wrist out of his slackened grip. And walked off towards her car, as fast as she could.
