Game Time

Chapter 1

Tyler Seguin shuffled nevously from foot to foot in the center of the Boston Bruins dressing room. The date was September 19th, and the Bruins were packing up to head to Toronto. They had their first game of the pre-season against the Maple Leafs the next night. Tyler looked down at his text messages on the screen of his phone, as he fiddled nervously with his tie. He watched as one of the Bruins equipment managers finished packing his hockey bag for him. The bag was dragged past Tyler into the hallway outside the Bruins dressing room. He watched as the black bag with the name SEGUIN - 19 printed in gold on the side, was pulled out of sight. He fixed his white dress shirt, and re-adjusted his belt.

"Hey there Segs!" Brad Marchand said as he walked through the room toward his stall. "You ready for the big game tomorrow?"

"Hells yes I am!" Tyler replied with enthusiasm.

"I can't believe we're on the road first. Toronto doesn't have many hot chicks that like hockey." Patrice Bergeron muttered as he walked past with an armload of stick tape for his bag.

"Whatever..." Tyler said. His focus was on hockey, not girls.

After sneaking a quick glance at the clock, he walked out of the room.

About half the team was assembled outside the dressing room. Some of the players were talking, some were on their phones. Some of the guys were talking to the trainers, as it was the last chance they would get to fix any injuries, before they made it to the Air Canada Center.

Tyler Walked over to join a group consisting of Zdeno Chara, Jaromir Jagr, and Tukka Rask. The boys were talking about the ice quality at the ACC.

"It's a fairly average ice surface, but it's like heaven in comparison the skating on the ice in LA." said Jagr.

Tyler laughed, and rolled his eyes. "It's not THAT bad. The ice is worse in New York."
