Trouble in the King's Court

Chapter 16

The next day, would literally be life or death. Aly did not want to go with Henrik to Sweden, she wanted to stay with her friends and boyfriend in Greece. She did not want him nor anything to do with him. She was getting sick of his games, and was beginning to believe that he wasn't mentally ill at all...he had an obsession with her.

It's around 10 am and Aly is leaning up against a bale of hay in the barn. Henrik just fed her breakfast and she was still trying to free herself. He released her from the beam, but kept her arms tied behind her back. She was so anxious of what he would do, "H-Hank?"

Henrik came in from straightening himself up, "Yes darling? Well, don't you look lovely."

"My wrists are killing me and I think I dislocated my shoulder. You need to let me go. I need a doctor," Aly pleaded.

"Nope, sorry babe. Not falling for that. You're staying with me and that's final!" Henrik angrily stated. "I'm going to call the pilot for the plane. You better not move!"

Once Henrik left, Aly tried every tactic to loosen the ropes and get out. She was not going to let him win and would be back with her boyfriend and friends soon.

Back at the hotel suite, Kristina was making a statement to the police about what she witnessed and what happened. She begged them to find her friend and find her alive. While that happened, Carl and Chris searched for any clues Henrik could have left behind. Chris looked down and saw a business card, "What's this?"

Carl walked over, "What did you find?"

"Look at this. It's a card for a private plane company. Oh my god, he's trying to take her out of the country," Chris realized.

"Fuck no. Wait, why's it covered in hay?" Carl questioned.

Kristina perked up, "Hay!? Did you say hay!? Baby, there's an old farm house two miles from my grandparents winery!"

"Maybe he took her there!" Chris added.

The police chief came by, "You three stay here with an officer. We will go out there."

"No. I want to come. I need to see my friend," Kristina insisted.

Carl nodded, "Us too."

"Okay, but you must stay in the car. You can not leave unless we tell you," the police chief warned.

They all headed towards the barn and arrived five minutes later due to police escorts. They heard the sounds of someone screaming and knew it had to be Aly.

Inside the barn, Henrik peeked outside and saw the cops, "Fuck! How the hell did they know!?"

"I-Is Kristina out there? Is Chris there?" Aly weakly asked.

Henrik glared at her, "Shut the hell up."

The police chief spoke through a megaphone, "Henrik, let her go. This is going to end now. Let her free."

Henrik pulled Aly up and walked them both outside, "You'll never see us again. We're going to have a new life. No one can have her."

"Henrik, you're a fucker. Let her the hell go! Stop this madness!" Chris shouted.

From atop the barn, no one saw what came next. Henrik was struck by a stray arrow that had medicine in it to make him fall asleep. He fell down in the field, Aly going down with him.

The cops, Kristina, Carl, and Chris ran over. Chris freed his girl and saw how swollen she was, "Baby, please tell me you're okay."

"I am in so much pain," Aly cried.

Kristina pushed hair out of her friend's face, "The ambulance is coming. He'll never get out this time."

"Please promise me that," Aly whined.

Carl hugged her too, "We promise."

"I love you so much baby. We'll help you heal," Chris added, kissing his girlfriend.

The nightmare was over...
