Trouble in the King's Court

Chapter 19

Three Months Later. December 2018.

It was almost Christmastime in beautiful Manhattan. The Rockefeller Centre Christmas tree was up, snow was falling, people shopping until they dropped, and it was the most magical time of year. In terms of hockey, the Rangers have dominated the first two and a half months, leading the Metropolitan division by an incredible fourteen points. The team had their last game before the holiday break tomorrow night against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Garden and a big sale was happening for fans to buy presents for their loved ones.

While the team practiced, Aly was sitting in the stands with Deanna. They have become very good friends and really bonded since Kevin Shattenkirk signed with the team, and the girls had a lot in common with one another.

"Are you excited for the holidays girl?" Deanna asked.

Aly went to answer when she started to have stomach pains, "Oh my god."

"Aly? Honey? What's wrong?" Deanna worried.

Aly groaned upon standing, "I think the baby is coming. Oh god. CHRIS!"

Chris looked up from the ice, "Baby! Are you okay?"

"I'm going into labor! The baby is coming!" Aly screamed.

Head coach Alain Vigneault looked over, "Chris, go! It's okay! You're excused!"

Chris ran up to where she was sitting in the stands, "Come on, we've got to get you to the hospital and now!"

Aly held her belly, "I can't move. It hurts too much."

"We're only ten blocks baby. You can!" Chris encouraged.

Aly glared at him, "Call a fucking ambulance. NOW!"

------------------------------------------------------------

At 1:54 PM, Aly was holding her and Chris' new baby daughter. She had brown hair and brown eyes, so identical to her daddy. She weighed in at seven pounds and one ounce, pretty decent size for coming three weeks early. Their girl was precious in every way possible.

Aly bounced their daughter in her arms, "Hello angel. Welcome to the world."

Chris kissed his girlfriend's forehead, "She's beautiful, just like her mom."

The nurse walked over, "We need a name for her birth certificate. What will it be?"

Chris looked at Aly, "You choose baby."

Aly stroked her daughter's tiny cheek with her fingertip, "Welcome to our lives...Ava Katherine Kreider, after your auntie."

"Perfect name. I love you so much my girls," Chris smiled, kissing his daughter's forehead then his girlfriend on the lips.

A Merry early Christmas indeed!

Notes

Kristina and I are no longer on speaking terms, so she will not be in the story anymore. I'm sorry if anyone liked her character. New longer chapters to come soon.
