The Coworker

Seven

Waking up the next morning wasn’t as awkward as they had assumed. Sure there was some discomfort but they made enough small talk for Sid to get dressed and leave the room. He wasn’t sure if he was allowed or supposed to kiss her as he left, you know, like other one night stands, so he quickly grabbed his wallet off the end of her bed and left, leaving Bri wrapped in a tangled mess of sheets.

As Sid knocked on his door, Geno came to open it and immediately asked, “where were you last night?”

“In someone else's room since you had someone in here,” he replied, walking past him and taking off his shirt to have a shower.

“Whose room?” Geno asked, sitting at the edge of his bed.

“Don’t worry about it. I’ll never sleep with her again so it doesn’t matter.”

Geno shrugged and watched Sid close the bathroom door behind him. He didn’t really care, he just wanted to know the truth in the event he finds the same girl later that day and has the same urges Sid did.

Today was there last full day in Cancun so they were going to make the most of it while they packed and prepared for check out. Their flight wasn’t until 11pm, so they had the full day to tan, relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Lounging in the pool they collectively talked in a group and played different games at different times. They were genuinely enjoying themselves, and the fact there was no tension or awkwardness between Sidney and Bri was even better. They still didn’t communicate, but they were more civil than normal.

Little does everyone know they spent the night together in a very intimate way. Even when they were together they barely spoke. The most talking they did was words of encouragement and directions. Dirty talk was all it was. And once they were done the deed they slept.

Bri kept staring at Sid from afar wishing she could talk to him about last night but knowing that it was now a dead conversation. She wanted to know why he had sex with her, she wanted to know why he came to her, and she needed to know what the hell has been up with him. He has no right to treat her the way he was treating her when he was the one who broke her down.

Sid would catch a glimpse of Bri in her bikini and kick himself some more. He knows he shouldn’t have hooked up with her last night, but what was a guy to do? He needed a place to sleep and his true feelings and urges came true because of his drunken courage. He wanted more than just a hump and dump, but that’s all he seemed to get.

Unknowingly they both kept the promise that they wouldn’t speak of that night to anyone. It would only cause problems and force them to answer things they didn’t want to. There’s something Sid hates about sharing his personal feelings, whereas Bri is normally the opposite. But they are now mixing business with pleasure.

They got changed for their last dinner which unbenounced to the girls was planned to be on the beach by the guys. It was quite romantic and deep down both Bri and Sid wished they were doing this alone with each other.

“I’d like to propose a toast,” Flower announced, holding his beer in the air, allowing everyone to grab their glass or bottle. “To good friends, good times, good tanlines and a good season to come!”

“Cheers!” they all toasted, making their rounds of *clinks* around the table.

“Leave it to Flower to bring up work when we forgot that even existed on this trip,” Tanger joked.

“I’m ready to go back,” he defended himself.

“Me too,” Geno and Sid agreed.

The women shook their heads and rolled their eyes. “Of course you three would be,” Vero laughed.

“Summer is boring with no hockey,” Geno replied.

“But you play all year, you’re on vacation for once so enjoy it!” Katherine laughed. “Here, have another beer!” she laughed, giving him the rest of her beer.

Everyone around the table broke out in laughter, and for a brief moment Sid and Bri made eye contact. Although it was a small moment or gesture, it was a huge step in the right direction.

Are any of these stories ever going to be updated? I know it is fiction and I am new to all this but it is frustrating to read through these stories and find very few of them completed! And when you do complete them the ending is either sad or a cliffhanger! If this seems harsh I apologize but you do say you want feedback!

Aw update soon please :) x

This story is seriously my favorite. I’m glad that she’s able to joke around with him, but also know that she needs to keep her guard up. I’m also glad that he told her the truth about dinner and didn’t try to hide it. I hope they get together in the end, but he definitely has a lot of making up to do.
