The Love to Live For

Olli's POV

We sit in the locker room feeling ashamed. We are not playing good. We aren't even doing OK. So many defensive zone turnovers, so many offensive zone turnovers, hell there were even too many neutral zone turnovers. We need to manage the puck. Murray is sitting on the bench for the rest of the game because we can't play hockey today. Let's see if Jarry can fix our mistakes by making some spectacular saves. He shouldn't need to do that if we were playing good. We just need to pull it together and win.

"What the hell was that?" shouts Coach Sullivan as he walks in here. Boy is he pissed and I don't blame him. Alysha is watching this game and I don't think she is impressed. We all just sit in the locker room in silence. I think we need to think about what we are doing out there on the ice. It's the point that I don't know how the score isn't larger. We need goals, but we can't score them if we can't get good shots off.

"Coach..." says Sid not even looking up from the floor. He's over there just hanging his head like the rest of the guys.

"Save it SId. I know you guys aren't happy with the way things are going. Are you even ready to play? You guys aren't acting like it. Get traffic in front of the net and protect our net. I put Jarry in our crease to see if you guys would wake up and play right. You guys are the Pittsburgh Penguins. We have a lot of Pens fans in Pittsburgh that are counting on us. They want us to comeback and beat Ottawa. Those fans that we have in this rink want us to make a comeback and they are confident that we can do it. We have made comebacks before. Now is the time for a big one. It's a long shot being down by four, but we can do it. Jarry will make the saves that we need him to make and the offense will score the goals we need them to score. The defense will play defense and defend our net and the point at the other end. I know you guys can do it. I know you got more gas. You sure as hell didn't hustle last period. Let's go out there and win this thing!"

The guys all cheer and we head out for the second period. I wonder if Alysha is still watching.

Alysh'a POV

The second period is about to start. Let's hope they can come back. It's not going to be an easy thing to do. Let's hope the coach scolded them for the way they were just playing. Sid wins the draw back to Olli and he passes over to Letang. I am so into this game. I really want Olli to win.

Olli's POV

Sid takes the puck in the offensive zone after recieving a pass from Tanger. He takes a quick wrist shot that is stopped by Anderson. Kessel grabs the rebound and passes it back to me so I can lauch a one-timer. Sure enough, that was perfect and it hit the post and ricochted into the net. We got a goal. Now we trail by three. We are making some sort of a comeback. We did come right out and got the first goal of the period. Now, we need three more and we need them now.

We made our comeback and we won in overtime. The Sens looked like they got a little over confident. We board the plane and get ready to head to Detroit. I put on my headset and listen to some of the songs that Alysha downloaded when she took my phone the other day without me knowing it. She can be so sneaky, but she is a great girl and I hope I get to be with her for a long time. The plane takes off and I slowly drift to sleep. Tomorrow, we play our game against the Detroit Red Wings and after, I get to meet Alysha's parents.
