Moving up to the NHL

Moving to the 'Burgh

We are all packed to move out of our home country, Canada, to America. My dad got a new job at a hospital in Pittsburgh. He is a surgeon. Makes a lot of money so this is a good opportunity for him. I am excited for him, but not so excited to move from the home that I was born and raised in. Toronto will always be my home. I will miss all the friends that I grew up with. I will miss playing pond hockey with them and I will miss hanging out with them. It's going to be hard for me to make new friends. It will be different. I won't have my childhood friends come and greet me at work with lunch they picked up from Burger King or McDonalds. I won't have them to talk to whenever I'm upset or need advice. I could contact them on Facebook, KIK, Snap chat, and other social media sites, but it's not the same as talking to them in person. I have to leave my boyfriend whom I have only been dating for a month. I haven't even hung out with him that much. I already sent him a text this morning telling him 'bye' for the last time. We finish packing up the trailer. UHAUL will be taking this stuff over the border and into Pittsburgh (Im not really sure how it works to move things over the border or whatever) and we will be getting on the first flight there.
People have always asked me what I want to do in the future. Nothing really. My parents are rich, so I don't need to get an education. They have enough money to support me and my little brother and sister. The two younger kids are in school and I just want to work any job I can get. I really don't have an interest in pursuing and education when I can work in my spare time. I can make friends with whatever coworkers I have when I get a job. That's a good way to make new friends. At college, there are so many people there, but it's even harder to talk to them.
I recently subscribed to NHL Gamecenter so I can watch the Penguins game on the plane. Oh, did I not mention that I am a die hard Penguins fan? Well, now you know.
"Natalie! Stop writing in your diary and let's go!" shouts my mom from the bottom of the stairs. Gosh, I'm twenty and still live by my parents' rules. I shut my diary and put it in my bag and head out the door to the rental car that my dad picked up this morning. This is going to be tough for all of us. I can tell nobody wants to leave, but this is a really good opportunity for my dad and we are proud of him. I take out my phone and put my headphones in. The Penguins should be playing the Predators soon. The game is in Pittsburgh. This move has been very tough for me because I grew up here, in Toronto so my parents bought me a Penguins ticket and they are taking me to next week's game against the Flyers. I hope Jarry starts that game as he is my favorite hockey player. I used to play goalie when my friends and I would play pond hockey. I was a goalie for youth teams too. It is only the first week of November, so Jarry hasn't been with the team long. He has played for the minors. He hasn't gotten much playing time, but the time he has gotten, he has been rock solid in the net. He has been very good.
We get to the airport and put our luggage on the secuirty thingy they have in airports. We are good to go. We get on our plane about an hour later and we just wait for take off. The Pens game starts and Murray is in net. Okay, if Jarry isn't playing today, I hope he plays against the Flyers. I hate those Flyers. I call them the 'Criers' because that's all they do is cheat and complain. The Penguins don't have a problem beating them.

It's been a week since we moved. I am upstairs in my new room getting ony some makeup for this game. I always take a long time to do my makeup. This is going to be a fun time. Everything is great so far. I got a job at Dunkin Donuts the other day. Tomorrow is my first day. I will be working part-time so that I have time to myself.
"Natalie! Are you ready?" says my dad as he pops his head in my room. I nod and shut my diary. I grab my Jarry jersey and head out the door with my family. PPG Paints Arena isn't far from where we moved. This is going to be a great game. the Penguins are on the ice warming up. Now that I live in Pittsburgh, I can go to more games and I can possibly meet some players. I will be working front counter at Dunkin Donuts and you never know if any of the playes will show up there. Right now I have a perfect view of Jarry. Murray is taking shots right now and Jarry is talking to the coach at the bench. I wonder who will be playing this game.

The game is about to start. The Penguins dash on the ice. The fans go wild.
"This game is going to be fun," says my mom as my brother and sister stand up against tthe glass. We got glass seating right behind the Penguins goal, which Jarry will be guarding tonight. The teams get ready for the faceoff after the National Anthem. Next thing you know, the Penguins are taking the puck to the other end of the ice. The are able to get a quick goal to go up by one. The Criers take the puck towards Jarry and makes an easy save. The Penguins try to move it forward, but the Criers stop them and dump the puck back into their zone. Jarry goes out and plays the puck, but Claude Giroux lays a huge hit on him and he stays down.
