It was the night of January 27th, the NHL was on its annual NHL All-Star break, leaving the players who did not make the All-Star teams; spend time with their family. Tonight was a different night though, it was Trinity Byström's 25th birthday, and she was going to spend it with her longtime friend, William Karlsson.

Trinity ran down the stairs after getting ready, only to see Will sitting on her couch.

"Seriously, you think you can just barge in?" Trinity threw her hands up, laughing.

"Your fault for giving me a key." Will held the key in his hand, smiling.

"Who ya texting?" She walked over to him and attempted to look at his phone, but he pulled away.

"No one,"

"Psh, its your boyfriend isnt it, always knew you were gay! Alex on the other hand, I wasnt so sure." Trinity giggled, referring to Alexander Wennberg, one of William's close friends from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"Shut up, he's not my boyfriend and I'm not gay. I was texting Nealer." He chucked, putting his phone away. "Ready to go?"

"Yep! Where are we going?" Trinity sprang up from the couch.

"Trin, you'll see soon enough." Will motioned her out the door, smiling.


Once they got in Will's car Trinity wouldn't stop bugging him.

"Will where are we going?"

"You'll see."

"But I want to know now."

"I told you, you'll see.

"Lars William Karlsson. Where the hell are we going?"

"Trinity Elle Byström. You'll see soon enough."

"You're a dick."

"Oh stop your pouting." Will lightly brushed his fingers over her hand.


Once they arrived to their destination, it took Trinity a while to see what it was. It was an outdoor ice rink!

"I should've known, Will." She rolled her eyes at him.

"Yes, you should've. I guess you aren't the brightest." He teased.

"Look who's talking. " She pursed her lips. "I suck at skating, you even brought my skates from like 5 years ago!" She grabbed his hand and dragged him to a bench.

Will started putting on his skates while Trinity was.... tangling up her skate laces.

"Will! I need help!" She shoved him.

"Fine." He finished lacing up his own skates and got down to the ground, "Put your foot on my knee." He tapped his knee and started tying up her skates once her foot was up on his knee. Trinity started laughing once he started tying up her left skate he looked up to see why, and she was taking pictures of him.

"This is squad goal worthy here now. Maybe I'll put the one Kadri and Komarov did and put them side by side and ask who did it better on Instagram." She laughed, and Will put her laced up skated down.

"Come on Trin!" Before she knew it, William was already on the ice yelling for her.

"Coming!"

She stepped on the ice and it was a struggle keeping up with will the entire time.

"Screw my short legs! Will slow down!" Trin panted, her legs already hurting.

"Your short legs are perfect Trin." Will smiled and waited for her.

"Yeah sure, coming from a guy who's like 7ft." She scoffed.

"Thats an exaggeration, I'm only 6'2'." He laughed.

"Well I'm 5'4, so ha!"

"Ahh, I love you and your sassiness."

"So whats the point of this again?" Trinity questioned, just as a snowflake landed on her nose. "Its snow! In Vegas! Unheard of!"

While Trinity was distracted Will found the perfect opportunity to kiss her. He placed his lips on hers, he felt her join in which cause him to inwardly smile.


"Ive been wanting to do that for a decade.
