This Is Where It Begins

Need A Place To Hide

FEBRUARY 17TH, 2019
Vegas Golden Knights @ Columbus Blue Jackets

No Point Of View

This was the game everyone was looking forward to. The Arena was crowded way before the game even started so fans could see the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, well known as the Golden Knights. The one year wonders of the league, dubbed the "Golden Misfits".

The fans thought this was going to be an exciting game, and the players undoubtably did too. The atmosphere was amazing as soon as the players stepped on the ice for warm-ups. The only thing different, and slightly uncomfortable, was William Karlsson. He was wearing the opposite jersey.

Per usual during warm-ups, Will stayed near his close friend Alexander Wennberg.

"Everything good? Considering you're kinda going against the team you lead in scoring, and help lead to the Stanley Cup." Alex casually asked him, sensing William's nervousness.

"Yeah, it's.... intimidating." Will responded honestly.

"How's Trinity and Beau?"

"Great. Beau recently learned that if he cries, he gets more attention. It's cute how he figured that out, but annoying as hell at night." Will laughed.

The two made quick small talk before actually warming up, Will felt uncomfortable the whole practice. Jonathan Marchessault's eyes always happened to be on him, and he looked at him with hatred burning in those blue eyes of his.

Jonathan Marchessault

For me I was just at the right place at the right time. The two pretty-boy Swedes talking to each other. I just happened to overhear one of them, the Wennberg guy, ask about Trinity and some Beau.

It's not a coincidence, I know it isn't. No possible way. Will loved her too, what's the chances of him finding another named Trinity? But what were her chances of living? 28 out of 100.
Who was this Beau, though?

I had to think about my previous experiences in Columbus, where was the wife and girlfriends suite! I spent minutes looking around each side of the Arena, but then I saw William wave to unknown space.

Jackpot!

There she was. Trinity. She was more beautiful than I had ever remembered. Her hair was significantly shorter than it had been when she left, it was cut just above her shoulders. Most likely the side effect of chemo. I could have pointed out everything different about her, but the most noticeable thing was a young boy sitting on her lap, taking in all the sights around him.

Was that my son? No it couldn't be. If Trinity was still alive... surely... it couldn't be. From far away, I couldn't see any detail, except that he had bright blonde hair. It hurts how Trin hadn't told me she had our son.

As soon as warm-ups were over, I grabbed my phone immediately googling Trinity, hoping to find anything on Beau. One of the first results were records of Trinity Elle Byström, and underneath children, was Beau Alexandre Marchessault. Wait a second, MARCHESSAULT!? So he was mine!

I put my phone away immediately, a smile on my face.

The game started, the top lines facing off, which made Jonathan shiver, but discovered that Will wasn't on Columbus' top line.

About a quarter of the way through the 1st Period William and Jonathan had their first faceoff against each other. Which didn't come without some chirping...

"Not good enough to center the stars, huh, Karly? Instead a 20 year old takes your place." Jonathan teased William, no kindness showing in his voice.

"I centered your line last year, Marchy. So you better shut the hell up." William replied with a sneer.

----

During a T.V. timeout, the scoreboard showed someone up on the screen, congratulating them. Both William and Jonathan looked up at the screen, along with lots of others. Jonathan had a big, proud, smile on his face, while William was cringing slightly and looked down at the ice.

The screen read, "Happy 6 month birthday to Beau Marchessault!" and showed live pictures of Trinity and Beau sitting on her lap. Except Trinity had her face down, and was blushing like crazy. She knew what it said, and she knew that Jonathan had saw her, and Beau.

Everyone either turned their gaze on William or Jonathan. William inhaled, no one knew that Beau wasn't his actual child, and now it made Trinity look like a slut. After the display disappeared from the screen everyone on the Jackets bench exhaled.

"Marchessault? He's not yours?" Multiple people whispered to Will, only causing him to feel more embarrassed. Beau's legal last name was Karlsson, it's on his birth certificate, at least that's what Trinity told him... yet the management fucked it up.

----

The Jackets lost 2-1, Jonathan scored both goals for the Knights, and didn't regret pointing up to his son each time.

Seeing Beau and Trinity was one thing, but talking to them was another.

@Wenny n' Wildbill
I agree it’s hard to chose one haha :)

@Ambidextrous Thoughts

That's the whole point of it at the moment, it will all get cleared up! I just finished the next chapter, which makes it clearer!

Most of this craziness is because I realized how hot some of the knights are and they deserved an honourable mention lmao.

I’m a little confused about who she likes but finding the parings interesting.
