Falling for a Canadian

Lord Stanley's Cup

End of 2017 season.

Tiana's POV

It was five days after the Penguins had won the Stanley Cup against Nashville in game 6. I can still remember sitting in the club suite with Mario and other Penguins executives. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and almost crying. I turned away from the site of the game at hand, and just as soon as I did the crowd fell silent. The Penguins had scored in the last minutes of the hockey game. I was so relieved and overjoyed at the thought of possibly seeing my husband hoisting the cup for a third time in his hockey career. The Predators pulled their goalie in the last minute, hoping to tie the game at one. Instead, a puck drifted across center ice, with Carl Hagelin chasing after it. Subban was beat in the footrace, and Carl Hagelin put in the empty net goal. Winning the cup was a for sure thing now. I was so happy. The game was over, Sid hoisted the cup. Once everyone got a chance at hoisting the thirty-five pound silver cup named Stanley, Sid carefully reached out his arms to hold our two-year old son, Asher. He lifted him into air and said, "There's my little champion!" It was the cuteness sight ever. I can see Asher growing up to be just like his father one day!

After all the excitement back in Pittsburgh after the win, Sidney and I returned home to our home in Enfield, Canada. It was a beautiful house located on Grand Lake, just outside of Cole Harbour. We got off the plane at the airport in Halifax, and Sid was carrying Asher to his car, which was a mid-gray Range Rover. I was right behind him, carrying the few bags we had. When we reached the car, Sid strapped Asher into his car seat, and drove us home. On the way, we stopped at several red lights. Man was this a great thing! Every red light we ended up stopping at, Sidney looked over in my direction, straight into my eyes, and kissed me.

We finally arrived home, Sidney went upstairs to take a shower, and I sat down on the couch with little Asher. About ten minutes later, Sidney walked downstairs wearing a gray Penguins tee and black Reebok shorts.

"Hey babe, what do you have in mind for dinner?" Sidney said while sitting down next to me on the couch.

"Honey, I don't know. All I know is that I am really wore out from all this traveling. What about ordering pizza?" I replied.

"Sounds great! What about our little Asher?" Asked Sidney.

"He's good with his peaches!" I said while laughing.

Sidney looked at me laughing so hard that he barely got out the word, "Okay." Sidney went to the phone to order the pizza. After he was finished, he picked up Asher out of my arms, and sat him in his highchair. Sidney went to the pantry, which was massive and always full of food, to get a jar of peaches for Asher. Oh, I simply enjoyed watching Sid feed Asher his peaches! It was adorable. He would always have to involve his favorite thing, hockey. The spoon of peaches was the puck, and Asher's mouth was the goal. Every time Sid put the spoon of peaches into Asher's mouth, he would throw his arms up in the air and say, "GOAL!" Asher always giggled when Sidney made himself look so silly, and even I sometimes chuckled. After Sid feed Asher, he took him upstairs and laid him down in his crib. For about five minutes, all you would hear from upstairs was Sid singing Asher lullabies. It was the cutest sound ever!

The timing was perfect. After Sid was able to get Asher to go to sleep, he came back downstairs and answered the door to the sound of the doorbell. It was the pizza delivery driver with our pizza. Sid and I always ordered the same pizza every time, and we both liked the same thing, Pepperoni and Canadian Bacon pizza. Sid took the pizza box and sat it on the kitchen counter. He got out some plates, and like a total gentlemen, he served me before he served himself. Sid was always so sweet and generous, part of the reason I fell for him. I waited for him and we both walked over and sat on the couch together. He turned the television on to the NHL network. Even though it was now offseason, the NHL network was what we watched most, but I didn't mind. I am used to the sport of hockey, being from Minnesota, where hockey is a popular sport. Sid and I also like to have the occasional movie nights, with popcorn and candy, even though he is busy a lot. Sid hadn't had anything since this morning before the flight, so he quickly ate his pizza.

I looked over to him in response, "Was the pizza running away from you Sidney?"

"No, but I was sure hungry," he said with a laugh.

It took me a couple of more minutes to finish my pizza. Once I did, I took the plate that Sid had left on the coffee table, along with mine, to the kitchen sink where I washed them and placed them back into the cabinet once they were dry. Before I could turn around, I felt arms wrap tightly around my waist. Sid lifted me off my feet a couple of inches, and carried me to the couch. "I am cold babe," Sidney complained. Once he sat me down on the couch, he walked over to the closet and grabbed a massive throw blanket that had the Penguins logo on it.

"Let's get close my little penguin," Sidney said in a loving tone.

"I have no problem with that my champion," I replied with a grin.

Sid unfolded the blanket and covered the both of us. Underneath the blanket, Sidney held me close to him with his big, strong, muscular arms. I rested my head on his shoulder, as he pulled me closer. Sidney put on a movie, which was one of my favorites. We were snuggled closely together on the couch throughout the movie. It was a great feeling of warmth and love. About three fourths of the way through the movie, I feel asleep with my head still rested upon his shoulder. Man did it make an amazing pillow!

...

I woke up in our bed, with Sidney lying on his back and with my head laying on his chest. He was there shirtless and in his black Reebok shorts, while I was wearing one of his Penguins t-shirts, and black nike shorts. Sidney's t-shirts were oversized, so they made for perfect pajamas. Even though I was already awake, I stayed lying there, just enjoying the comfort and company. Not long after that, Sid woke up too. I looked up at Sid, just to see him opening his eyes. When they were wide open, I began to admire their beautiful hazel color. They were hypnotizing, to the point where you could look into his eyes for minutes, hours, and even days. I found myself in a trance. I stared at him for at least five minutes, just to indulge in their beauty. He leaned his head down in order to gently kiss my head, while he asked me, "Honey, did you get hooked on my eyes again, eh?" I didn't say anything, but I looked up at him and gave him a slight smirk. "I know that look any day! It was my eyes! I knew it!" exclaimed Sidney.

"Maybe, it was. Is that a problem, mister?" I replied.

"No, not at all. I love it when you look at me like that. It makes me think that I am the luckiest man in the world," said Sidney.

"Aww babe. I love you," I told him while running my fingers through his hair.

"I love you too, babe," Sidney said as he moved over top of me and slowly kissed me.

After he did so, he got out of the bed, put on a shirt, and went downstairs. I slowly fell asleep on Sidney's pillow. When I laid my head on it, I could smell the scent of his musky cologne lingering on the fabric. It make me feel like he was still laying next to me, but I was so sleepy that I didn't know the difference. I woke up again to the sound of the door opening. My eyes slowly had to adjust, but as soon as they did, I saw Sidney walking into the room with Asher in his arms.

"Come on downstairs babe. I made us breakfast and fed Asher already," Sidney said.

"That's so sweet of you babe. Thank you!" I told Sidney, with a sense of appreciation for what all he had done.

"It's no problem honey. I wanted to do something for you, since you are always doing things for me and Stanley," replied Sidney.

"If you don't mind me asking, what did you make us for breakfast?" I asked.

"I made your favorite!" exclaimed Sid.

"Oh my gosh! You made me a Canadian bacon and cheese omelet???" I excitingly asked.

"I sure did babe!" Replied Sidney, while gently kissing my head. "Just give me a second honey. I have to go lay Asher down for his nap," Sidney stated. I walked downstairs to find the breakfast that Sidney had made on the counter with a note that read...

My little penguin,
I love you with all my heart, and I truly mean that. I love you to the moon and back.
Nothing will ever break us apart. If something was to attempt that, I would beat it with my
trusty hockey stick. You never know when you'll need one!
Love,
Sidney

After reading the note, I had the biggest smile upon my face. Sidney surely did know how to brighten someone's day and make them smile. It was one thing that he was good at, other than hockey. Soon, Sidney walked into the kitchen, when he saw the smile plain across my face.

"I knew that note would make my little penguin smile," said Sidney with a chuckle.

"It sure did! Now what are we waiting for? I'm hungry!" I exclaimed.

We did the normal routine of eating our breakfast, then cuddling on the couch until it was time to get Stanley up from his nap. Cuddle time was one of the things I missed the most when Sidney was in America playing hockey, while I stayed home watching little Asher. On occasion, Sidney has paid for the airfare of having Stanley and I fly to Pittsburgh, in order to join the team for a final home game before going on a five game road trip. With young Asher, it's hard to travel the long distances away from our home in Nova Scotia, so we barely see him. Now I can finally enjoy my daily cuddle time with Sidney until the season starts once again. Sidney wraps us in his massive Penguins throw. Underneath, Sidney wraps his strong, burly arms around me, holding me close and tightly. I tuck my knees up onto the couch and rest my head on his broad shoulder. As I am resting my head upon his shoulder, I looked down on the blanket to the center of the Penguins' logo, which gave me such nostalgia. On the penguin's white stomach was yellow embroidery, that read...

Tiana and Sidney
August 7th, 2013

Sidney had this sewed into the blanket a week after we got married on August 7th, 2013. The date also happens to be Sidney's birthday. I turned my head in order to look up at Sidney, who must have been daydreaming at the moment. I nudged at his side.

"Yes babe. Is something the matter?" asked Sidney.

"No, I am enjoying this very much, but I just realized the embroidery on the penguin that you had done after we got married. Do you remember that day when we got married Sidney?" I replied.

"Of course I do babe. Asking you to marry me was the best decision of my life, and the day I married you was the second best day of my life," said Sidney while softly kissing my cheek.

"Just to ask. What's the first Sidney?" I asked.

"When our little champion entered the world! He is my most prized possession. No Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, Ted Lindsay, Rocket Richard, ESPY, Art Ross, Hart, or any other award takes the place of my son," said Sidney with a smile.

I was in love with the answer he had just given me. I felt so satisfied to have a husband that put his family before hockey, any award, and anything in general.
My happiness got the best of me. I sprung out from under the the blanket just to find Sidney in complete shock. I jumped into his arms, wrapped my legs around his torso, and threw my arms around his neck. As soon as I did, Sidney stood up from the couch, with me still in his arms. I still had my arms around his neck and placed my head against his chest as he carried me throughout the living room. Once he placed me back down onto the couch, he sat down next to me once again and covered the both of us in the throw blanket.

"Wow, you are a silly little penguin!" Sidney said in a playful tone.

"Oh yes, I am one silly little penguin Mr.Crosby! You knew that when you met me!" I said with a laugh.

"I for sure always knew you were a silly little penguin! I could tell that when I glanced over in your direction at that Minnesota Wild game. You were in a Wild jersey screaming your head off. To be honest, I thought you would lose your voice after that night! The Wild sure made you wild, but I have always loved that side of you. Hearing you yell and scream my name in the stands is the best thing. That's because you're my favorite Penguins fan! You'll always be!" Sidney said with a chuckle and then looked down at me, now resting on his shoulder, and gave me that beautiful, genuine Sidney Crosby smile.

It was that one big smile with the sight of all his perfectly straightened teeth. I looked up and smiled back at him, we both leaned in closer and closer, until we kissed each other. Once we finally did break away from the kiss, Sidney went upstairs to get Asher up from his nap and get him dressed. Sidney had reserved Cole Harbour Place for us to go skating there. This ice rink was no ordinary ice rink. It was the ice rink that Sidney had first started playing hockey. To imagine that Asher was going to learn to skate on the same ice where Sidney had began his journey to becoming the best in the NHL, was very special. Once Sidney was back downstairs, he handed Asher over to me and went to the closet to get his hockey bag. Out of it he grabbed, his skates along with some extra stick tape. Before leaving the closet, Sidney retrieved a pair of skates that was for Asher. Sidney had just bought them before we left Pittsburgh. They were so tiny and petite, that I was in awe over how cute they were. I thought back and imagined how Sidney was once in that small of skates. As the image went through my brain, a smile slowly began to appear on my face. When Sidney walked back from the closet, towards me, he realized the biggest smile on my face.

"Is it my eyes again?" asked Sidney.

"Oh no, not this time surprisingly. I was just standing here imagining you when you wore skates that small," I said with a laugh.

"Yes, I remember those days. I was so young that every time I wanted to wear my skates, I had to have my mom lace them up for me. I was 2 and didn't know how to tie shoes and definitely not a pair of skates!" Sidney chuckled and we both stood there smiling.

We both walked to Sidney's garage, located behind the house. I strapped Asher into his car seat, then I got into the front passenger seat. When we got to Cole Harbour Place, we walked through the front entrance. The entire lobby was like the "Sidney Crosby Hall of Fame". Everything from his jerseys, to his trophies from his youth, used hockey sticks, and much more Sidney Crosby memorabilia was placed in display cases and various frames. Once we reached the rink, Sidney put on his skates and so did I. Sidney then reached into what looked like an oversized shoebox. He pulled out Asher's brand new skates from the box, loosened the laces, and placed the small sized skates onto Asher's tiny feet. Sidney grabbed the lace, tightened and tied them. "Is that good, buddy?" Asked Sid. Asher then nodded his head "yes" in response to Sid. The next thing you know, Sidney picked up Asher and put him on the ice. Sidney's hands were placed on Asher's little hands, as he guided him along the ice. It was the cutest thing that could be witnessed across the ice. I skated over to Sid and Asher, while they were skating and laughing. I grabbed a hold of Asher's left arm, while Sidney still held onto his right arm. As we glided along the ice, we would swing Asher into the air, just to have him land back onto the ice safely again. Once I got off the ice to take a break, I pulled out my iPhone just to record every second and minute of Sid and Asher. Ugh, he was just simply the perfect dad, that there was no way that I couldn't stop thinking about having another kid.

About 1 month and a half later...

Today was the day, Sidney's birthday. It was such a special day for him, since he was turning the big 30. Sidney and I were going to go over to his sister's and parents' house to celebrate the day. I had gotten Sid the best birthday present ever this time. All I could think to myself, was that he was going to love it.
Sidney went upstairs to give Asher a bath and get him dressed. About thirty minutes later, Sid walked down the stairs with Asher in his arms. Asher looked at me with the same gorgeous, beautiful smile that his father has.

"You two boys ready to go?" I asked.

"Yes, just let me put on Asher's shoes," replied Sidney. Asher's shoes were simply adorable. They were little black Chuck Taylor All-Star Converse. He wore those things practically every day.
When we arrived at Sidney's parents' house, Taylor and Sidney took turns playing with Asher, while his parents and I fixed Sidney's favorite for his birthday dinner. When dinner was ready, Sidney served his parents, sister, and served me while giving me a kiss on the head. He sat down next to me at the dinner table. While we ate, Sidney placed his hand on my leg, underneath the table. I got chills as Sidney rubbed his hand on my leg. It was hard to contain my emotions in front of his parents, but I managed to do so. After dinner, his mom, sister, and I cleaned up the table and placed the dirty dishes into the dishwasher. It was now time for Sidney's birthday cake. I had it specially made at the bakery. It looked like PPG Paints Arena, and it had a little Sidney action figure on the cake with "Happy Birthday Sid!" written upon the front side of the cake. By now, I was very anxious to give Sidney his birthday present. His family gave him a hundred dollar gift card to his favorite eatery in town, and now it was time for my present. I slowly reached to my side and grabbed a horizontally long box. Sidney unwrapped it and opened the box to find a brand new CCM hockey stick, with his name and number engraved into it.

"Thank you so much honey! I absolutely love it!" Sidney exclaimed.

"No problem, Sidmon roll," I replied with a chuckle.

"But that's not all," I continued on. I reached down and grabbed a small, square box. Sidney quickly unwrapped it and pulled out a tiny Penguins jersey that had "Lil' Crosby" stitched on the back.

"Is this for Asher babe?" Asked Sidney.

"No, think again honey," I replied with the slightest of grins.

"Oh my gosh! Does this mean what I think it means??? Are you pregnant?!" Asked Sidney in shock.

"Yes, that's exactly what it means!" I exclaimed.

Sidney jumped up out of his chair and hugged me like Hags hugs him. He was so overjoyed, that he had nothing to say, but just to kiss me repeatedly. After long minutes of him hugging and kissing me, words finally came out of his mouth.

"I can't believe it! I am going to be the father to another little champion!" Exclaimed Sidney. His family responded just as he did. His parents were so overjoyed to get to spoil another grandchild, and his sister was excited to be an aunt to another little Crosby.

"How far are you along?" Asked Sidney.

"8 weeks babe," I replied.

"I love you so much babe!" Sidney exclaimed.

"I am so happy for you two!" Sidney's mom said.

"Yes, I am too son!" Said Sidney's dad.

Sid and I headed home, but before we did his parents and sister wished us both the best. After buckling Asher into his car seat, Sidney opened the passenger side door for me.
"Thank you babe!" I said.

"Don't mention it. You are pregnant now. I want to take care, pamper, and protect you more than ever before," stated Sidney.

"You are so kind and caring. That's why I love you," I told him. He leaned over to me and I leaned into him. We both kissed before leaving his parents' house. When we did finally arrive home, Sid and I took Asher up to bed. Once we got him to fall asleep, Sidney carried me downstairs and placed me on the huge sofa. There I snuggled up to him. We couldn't resist the temptation of kissing one another. He leaned in and I leaned closer into him once again. Sidney gently placed his lush lips onto mine. I soon felt the sensation of a French kiss. His tongue grazed mine as we slowly kissed. I felt chills run throughout my body as we did. It was the greatest feeling of passion and true love for one another. When we did break apart, I moved even closer into Sidney's warm, cozy body. I tucked my knees onto the couch, and rested my head on his muscular shoulder. He gently placed his hand onto the side of my head. He then took strands of my curly, brown hair and continuously placed them behind my ear. His other hand found its way wrapped around my body.
After a while of snuggling with Sid on the sofa, he carefully picked me up and carried me up to our bedroom. He laid me upon the bed so gently. I felt like a princess in her true palace with her prince. He was the King, and I was his Queen. We both laid on our sides, facing each other, looking one another deep in the eyes.

"I am so lucky I found you. You are my number one fan, and the best wife and mother a man could ask for. Words can't simply explain how much you mean to me," Sidney told me as he placed some of my hair behind my left ear.

"I feel the same way about you. You are the best husband and father a woman could ask for. You just care so much about your family, and I couldn't ask for more," I replied. I snuggled closer to Sid and rested my head against his bare chest, as I always liked to do. He softly kissed my forehead and told me goodnight. I began to fall asleep once again in his strong arms.
...

The next morning, I felt a hand graze the side of my head. After I slowly opened my eyelids, I found myself staring into the dreamy color of Sidney's beautiful eyes. He leaned down to kiss me and said, "Good morning, my little penguin."

"Good morning, Sidamon roll," I said with a laugh. Sidney rolled back over to his side of the bed. He sat on the edge, and I slowly made my way over to him. I sat on his lap and wrapped my legs around his torso. Sidney held me close as he kissed me, and I got glimpses of his hypnotizing hazel eyes in between.

"You're the perfect mother for our children, and you always will be. I know that because I love you," said Sidney.

As I laid my head onto Sidney's chest, I wrapped my arms around his neck. He gently pecked my blushed cheek. I turned my head to where I looked him into the eyes and told Sidney, "And you are the perfect father for our children, and the perfect companion. I love you so much! I am so glad my car wouldn't start that night after the Flyers at Penguins game. You were so sweet, kind, and undoubtedly handsome in your suit. I just don't know what I would do without you in my life Sidney." We looked each other in the eyes, and seconds later I felt his full lips press against mine. He then reached down and placed his hand on my stomach.

"Little penguin, do you want it to be a boy or girl?" Asked Sid.

"I don't know Sidamon roll. I guess a boy because I want to have another mini Sidney," I said with a laugh.

"Yes, mini mes are the cutest!!!" Sidney exclaimed with a grin.

"Oh I totally agree babe," I replied with a smile.

Weeks later I woke up, finding myself running to the restroom to throw up again. It seemed like the symptoms of pregnancy were worst then they were when I was expecting Asher. Sidney came into the bathroom and knelt beside me. He grabbed my hand and held it gently as he held my hair back with the other hand. When I got up he was there with a glass of water and the pills my doctor had prescribed.

"Honey you're always there when I need you most. I love you!" I said as I looked at him and smiled.

"I love you too little penguin!" Sid said as he leaned in to peck my forehead.

I went to the closet to find something comfy to wear to my doctor's appointment. "Honey, I am going out to drop Asher off at my parents' house."

"Okay babe," I replied.

When Sidney got back, he walked me to his car and opened the passenger side door for me. On the way to the doctor, Sidney was holding onto my hand and kissing it every now and then. At the doctor, Sidney sat next to me during the ultrasound and held onto my hand. The doctor told me I was about 2 and a half months along and that the baby was healthy.

"The baby is healthy and developing normally, or should I say the babies are healthy?" Said the doctor.

"Wait what!?" I said in shock.

"Yes, you are expecting twins. Two boys to be exact. Congratulations!" The doctor stated

Sidney let go of my hand and his head fell on my shoulder as he was in tears; tears of joy. I looked over into his eyes and he leaned in to kiss me.
"I can't believe it! I am going to be the father of two other beautiful boys!" Sidney exclaimed, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"Yes, you are my Sidamon roll!" I replied.

Once we left the doctor's office, Sidney and I were on the way to his parents' house to give them the wonderful news. When we arrived, Sidney opened the passenger's side door once again like a gentlemen. I held his hand and we walked together onto to porch, where his mother opened the door.
