The Day The Magnificent Died

Adieu, Lemieux

I am awoken by the hallway light shining into my room. I'm immediately reminded of my dad's schedule. I think:
He's off, but the light seems like a 6AM workday. It was already 6AM, though, so I knew that wasn't the case.
He called me down from the livingroom.
"Get down here!"
In the living room, the WTAE news intro music played, bu with an announcer saying "Pittsburgh's Action News starts, with Breaking News!"
Andrew Stockry sits in silence in his news booth. Background chatting is heard.
"Tradgedy. That's what Penguins players, staff, and fans were struck with this morning with the death of legendary Penguin Mario Lemieux. The news was broken via Facebook at 11:45 last night. The post read:
"It is our deepest regret to announce the passing of Pens player-owner Mario Lemieux. Lemieux was killed at 11:15 PM EST on October 10th. Pray for the Lemieux family. The raising of the memoriam banner will be at a tribute game on Saturday, the 14th, against the Panthers. #RIP66."en
