Savannah woke up surprised to find the bed empty. She glanced at her phone for the time to see it was just before 8:00 am. Usually, she was awake well before now. Tyler must have really worn her out the night before. Still, she was surprised he wasn't fast asleep.

She rolled out of bed and made her way out to the kitchen to hear Tyler on the phone. "I know, Mom," he was saying. Savannah put her hand on his shoulder to let him know of her presence, and he spun around, giving her a smile. "Yes, Mom. I'll call you later. I love you, too," he said before hanging up the phone.

"I thought you'd left when you weren't in bed," Savannah told him, going to the refrigerator and grabbing a water.

"Can't get rid of me that easily," he joked. "I couldn't sleep," he added.

"I thought I was the one with insomnia," she replied. "What's keeping you up?"

Tyler shrugged. "Antsy about the game, I guess," he told her. He had nothing to be nervous about. The Stars had been playing great, and their goalie had been lights out. That's how they were up 3-0 in the series. They needed another win, and then they could have a short break before going into semifinals.

"Well I like that answer better than being worried about me," she said.

He chuckled as he turned and put a hand on her back to pull her closer to him. "I always worry about you. Anything new on Bartholomew?" he inquired.

Savannah shook her head. "No, but I should give Liam a call." Tyler frowned but didn't say anything. She picked up her phone and called her coworker.

Liam picked up on the second ring. "Thought I'd be getting a call two hours ago," he joked.

"I was sleeping," she replied.

"That boyfriend of yours keeping you up late?" Liam inquired. Tyler had been a little jealous of Liam at the start, something Tyler would never admit out loud. But now he knew Savannah wasn't into Liam, even if he did casually flirt with her.

"Give me the update on Bartholomew," she told him, not wanting to deal with the banter right now. She certainly wasn't going to give Liam the details of the amazing sex she'd had with Tyler last night.

She sat on one of the barstools at the kitchen bar, and Tyler handed her a cup of coffee he had made. She took one sip and immediately handed it back to him. He really needed to learn how to make a proper cup of coffee that was actually drinkable.

"There isn't one besides what I texted you before," he told her. "He was spotted just outside of Odella's place."

"And no one went in after him?" Savannah questioned, frustrated. If she had been working when they got that information, she would have for sure gone after him.

"No, Savannah," Liam snapped at her. "Dominic wants to make sure we get it right and Bartholomew doesn't get away. We can't fuck this up."

"Put me in there," she said, garnering Tyler's attention.

"Oh yeah, throw the girl with a bum knee and concussion in there to run him down," Liam said sarcastically.

"You sound like Tyler," she rolled her eyes. "And not in a good way." Tyler frowned, and Savannah continued. "Tell me what I can do to help."

"You're not coming in today, are you?" he asked.

Savannah thought about it. She hadn't planned on coming in. It was two days until the wedding and she had some last minute things to do. Plus, Shea's version of a bachelorette party, which consisted of going to the Stars game, was tonight, and she wasn't missing that. "Maybe for an hour," she said. "I have plans tonight, but I want to stop by and get caught up."

"We'll see you in a bit then," Liam said before hanging up.

Savannah could feel Tyler's eyes boring into her without even looking over at him. "I swear I'm gonna have to handcuff you tot hat bed so you take a day off of work," he told her.

She glanced over at him. "Handcuffed to the bed? I could think of worse things in the world," she said suggestively with a raised eyebrow.

He walked up behind her and kissed her neck. "Too bad you're going into work."

She looked up at him. "You're headed to the rink anyways," she responded. "And maybe if you get a win tonight, we can use those handcuffs," she winked at him as she stood up and swayed her hips back to the bedroom.

She quickly showered and changed into clothes for work, leaving before Tyler left for morning skate. She told him she'd see him at the game and wished him good luck. He told her that she better have a good time at the bachelorette party and to make sure she had stories to share with him afterwards.

When she arrived at work, Dominic and Liam were already talking about the case in Dominic's office. "Good to see you," Dominic greeted her. "Don't overexert yourself today, though. I know your doc said you can only work limited hours."

"I'm fine," Savannah insisted as she sat down next to Liam. "Catch me up to speed."
Dominic began talking and before she knew it, two and a half hours had passed, and they had a plan in place to get Bartholomew back behind bars. "Shit," she muttered, looking at her phone to see a number of missed texts. One was from Tyler, and the rest were from Alex and
Shea, wondering where she was. "I gotta go, I was supposed to meet my sister forty-five minutes ago," she told them, quickly packing up her things and sprinting out the door. She quickly texted the group before starting to drive. Be there in 10. Sorry, got caught up at work.

She got a response but didn't bother reading it as she made her way to Shea's place. She ran up the best she could with her knee brace on. She couldn’t be more excited to ditch that for the wedding. She was surprised she wasn't completely out of breath since she hadn't been able to exercise since the accident. "So nice of you to show up," Shea said sarcastically.

Savannah almost told her that they were working on the Bartholomew case but decided against it to instead focus on Shea and the wedding that was only two days away. "Okay, tell me what I need to do," Savannah said.

"Help me finish putting the bows on these centerpieces so we can focus on the bachelorette party," Alex answered. Shea had decided she wanted to make homemade centerpieces, which seemed great in theory, but ended up being a bigger, more time consuming project than originally thought.

"I will be happy when these are all done," Savannah mumbled. Shea gave her a look but didn't say anything, so Savannah quickly changed subjects. "How's Jamie after last night?" she asked Alex.

"He seemed pretty normal last night after dinner. We didn't speak of the getting engaged thing again. Basically pretended it didn't happen," she shrugged.

"Is he really that weird about getting married?" Shea asked.

Alex shrugged again. "We just haven't talked about it. I texted Jordie last night," she said, speaking of Jamie's older brother. "He said just ignore the reaction. So not sure what that means," she said with a soft laugh. Savannah knew it bothered Alex more than she'd ever admit out loud.

"Well, guess that just means Shea has to throw the bouquet at you," Savannah stated, tapping Alex on the knee.

Shea laughed and nodded her head in agreement with her sister. "You'll get the bouquet," she promised Alex.

"You can't rig it!" Alex exclaimed.

"Well God knows Van can't catch it. Segs would marry her right then and there."

Savannah rolled her eyes. "I'm not getting married anytime soon, guys. Gotta get through the wedding and playoffs and see if Tyler and I survive."

"You mean you gotta get through catching Bartholomew for a second time and see if your relationship survives," Shea corrected her.

Alex looked up at Savannah. "I can't imagine he's doing very well with you going back to work."

Savannah frowned. "He doesn't get a say in my job and what I do," she said matter-of-factly.

"Cut him some slack," Shea defended Tyler since he wasn't there to defend himself. "He just worries about you. We all do."

"Well you all can worry all you want. I'm catching that son of a bitch and throwing him back behind bars," Savannah said with a determined tone. No one doubted she would accomplish that, even being injured. She continued working on the centerpieces, finishing the last one in front of her. "Oh my God, are we done?!" she exclaimed excitedly.

Alex stood up, looking around. "I think we are! For a bit there, I thought we were gonna miss the bachelorette celebration at the game," she joked. She knew Shea wouldn't let them miss the big game, even if it meant sacrificing some of her centerpieces.

"They look amazing, you guys," Shea told them. She really had been a laid back bride, and both Savannah and Alex were grateful for that. "I'll even buy you guys dinner before the game," she offered.

"Nuh uh," Savannah shook her head. "This is your bachelorette night. Dinner is on me!"

"No, dinner is on Jamie," Alex stated, and both women looked at her. "He gave me his credit card for the evening. Said to make sure Shea had a good last night being single," she laughed. Jamie knew that Shea and the girls weren't going to go that crazy tonight, but it was still a nice gesture.

The three of them agreed on an Italian place that wasn't too far from the stadium. Savannah asked Shea if she was more excited for the wedding or the honeymoon, and they talked about the upcoming events in detail. And then Shea turned the subject to Savannah. "How's the head?"

Savannah rolled her eyes. She hated when people focused on her and her health. "I'm fine," she insisted.

"That's not what Segs is saying," Shea countered.

Savannah narrowed her eyes at her sister. "Are you really going to him for updates? Checking up on me?"

"Yes," Shea admitted. "Because I know he's going to look out for you and tell me the truth even when you lie to my face. When I want to know about your health, I go to him. When I want details about your sex life, I ask you," she said with a shrug. "Speaking of, how is that going?"

"Good after last night," she replied with a smug smile on her face as she took a sip of her water.

"Must have been the night to be in the mood," Shea added with a grin.

"I hate you both," Alex frowned.

"Still!?" Savannah exclaimed. "Jamie still hasn't had sex with you? How the hell is he holding out!?"

Alex laughed but shrugged. "Probably getting it on the side," she joked.

Savannah shook her head. "Not a chance."

"Well you better be getting some wedding sex. Don't bridesmaids always hook up?" Shea asked.

"If he's here," Alex pointed out.

"I'll be your date if Jamie can't make it," Savannah grinned.

Alex chuckled. "Deal," she told her.

The rest of the dinner flew by, and after Alex had paid the check, Shea asked, "You two ready for this game?" Savannah wouldn't admit it, but she was actually nervous for the game. Selfishly, she wanted Tyler at the wedding with her.

Alex nodded her head. "Jamie has been in such a mood. I'm hoping they win tonight and he can take a break."

"They will," Shea said with certainty. The Stars had been hot, and they only hoped to continue that and get the win tonight to have a few nights off before the next round.

The three women fit right in when they walked into the arena. All three had Stars gear on. No one would have expected that two of the were dating two of their top lines guys. Tyler and Jamie had made sure to get them all three seats together. They'd never have it any other way. Jamie had offered to get a fourth seat for Audrey, but she was going out with her friends for her own version of a bachelorette party, which consisted of going to a hotel and watching movies in a suite and eating cupcakes. Shea knew she had picked the right one to spend the rest of her life with when she heard of Audrey's plans.

They made their way to their seats and settled in. They didn't have to wait long until the guys were on the ice for warmups. Tyler found Savannah in the crowd pretty quickly. She could have sworn he winked at her, and she just shook her head. "I'm telling you, if you catch that bouquet, Segs is proposing right then and there," Shea laughed, obviously having caught the interaction herself.

"Alex is getting married first," Savannah said matter-of-factly. For as fast and hard she and Tyler fell for each other, she knew neither were ready to get married. She was pretty sure Tyler's mother would kill him if he even thought about getting a ring at this point.

"Actually, Shea is," Alex corrected her as Jamie came over to the glass and flipped the puck over to a kid that sat a few rows in front of the girls. He flashed Alex a smile before going back to his routine on the ice. "How's Audrey's bachelorette party going?" Alex changed subjects.

"Well, she hasn't texted me all day. So my guess is she stayed late at work and probably isn't even at the hotel yet," Shea chuckled. Audrey loved her job as a vet as much as Savannah loved her job, and she'd often stay late at work when things came up.

Savannah pulled her phone out. "I'm going to tell her to leave and enjoy one of her last nights as an unmarried woman!" she announced.

"Funny you're the one telling her to leave work," Shea joked. Savannah stuck her tongue out at her twin. "Mature," Shea rolled her eyes.

The two of them jokingly bickered back and forth until the start of the game when all three women turned their focus to the ice. The game was an extremely physical one, and even
Alex would wince at some of the checks Jamie was on the receiving end for. It was a scoreless game through the first period, and everyone could tell the Jets were doing everything they could to not be eliminated. Their game was getting more and more physical, putting bad hits on guys left and right.

There was a little under eight minutes left in the game when one of the Jets players came fast and furious across the ice and laid Tyler flat out in the middle of the ice. While Tyler just laid there, several of his teammates came to his defense, with Brett Ritchie going after the guy that hit him and eventually got ejected from the game.

Savannah was on the edge of her seat. She was having a hard time breathing and felt time was moving in slow motion as she waited on Tyler to move. He finally did, sitting up, but holding his side in pain as their athletic trainer made his way onto the ice and tend to Tyler.

"Oh my god, fuck," she muttered.

"C'mon, I'll take you down there," Alex told her, having had to go downstairs to their training room before when Jamie got hurt last season. "Shea, I'll be back," she added, as Shea nodded her head and told Savannah Tyler would be okay.

She followed Alex down the stairs and waited outside the training room until their assistant athletic trainer, Jack, came out and got her. "He keeps whining to come get you," Jack chuckled.

Savannah let out a sigh of relief. If he was whiny then he had to be okay, right? She followed Jack inside, seeing Tyler on one of the treatment tables with his jersey and undershirt off, giving her a clear view of his chest and tattoo-clad arms. The team doctor was looking at him, and Savannah just watched from the side. Tyler gave her a smile and reached his hand out. She took the few steps over to him and grabbed his hand. "Told you she'd be worried about me and come down," Tyler spoke.

Savannah fought the urge to smack him. "Of course I was worried! You went down on the ice and weren't getting up!" she reminded him.

"Better than ending up in the hospital," Tyler countered. He didn't let her respond before he looked at the doctor. "What's the verdict, doc? I'm playing either way," he said matter-of-factly, ready to fight the doctor if he tried to sit him for an injury. "Shit. Did we win?" he looked back over at Savannah, realizing he'd missed the end of the game.

She had heard the crowd when Winnipeg scored, and she knew they had lost. But, she didn't want to tell him that. Instead, she wanted to hear what the doctor had to say. "Don't know," she lied. "I came down here after you got hurt." Her eyes stayed on the doctor, waiting on Tyler's prognosis.

"We need to get an x-ray of your rib. You may have broken it. Jack will get you set up with that, and I'll see you tomorrow," the doctor said. "You'll live either way," he added with a pat on Tyler's shoulder.

"I'll get you the info for the x-ray in the morning," Jack told Tyler who nodded his head.

"Come back after you shower and change. We'll wrap it and put some ice on it."

"Wanna help me shower?" Tyler asked, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows at Savannah.

"Not a chance, hot shot," Savannah told him, knowing he probably wasn't going to be in the mood for sex after he found out that the Stars lost and would be traveling back to Winnipeg.

"No sex," Jack said simply, and Tyler looked over at him. "Because of your rib," he added in an obvious tone.

Tyler swung his legs around the side of the table to stand up. "You coming home tonight?"

She had planned on spending the night with Shea and Alex. "Let me talk to Shea," she told him, not giving him an answer either way.

"Just text me, I'm going to go shower," he told her, and she nodded her head.

She gave him one last look before heading out and back up to meet the girls. "How's he doing?" Alex asked immediately.

"Fine, they said it may be a broken rib. He'll get an x-ray tomorrow."

"Well, go take care of your man," Shea told her.

Savannah gave her a curious look. "Don't want me around anymore?" she joked.

"We both know Tyler probably needs you more than I do tonight. Plus, with the loss, who knows what he's going to do. Last thing we need is drunk Tyler to break more bones," Shea said jokingly, though all of them knew it was a real possibility the guys went out and did something dumb tonight to ease the sting of the loss.

Savannah grabbed her phone texting him. Shea gave me the go ahead to come home and take care of you.

She was surprised with the text she received back. I'm fine. I don't need you to take care of me.

She looked at it curiously and waited a few moments before responding. He must have found out the final score of the game, but she didn't appreciate him taking his frustration out on her.

Savannah: Uh okay…? Just trying to help.

Tyler: I'm fine. I'd rather not have you around tonight anyways.

Savannah: Um, okay

Tyler: Don't really feel like having a babysitter.

Tyler: I'm 26, not 16. I can take care of myself.

Savannah: Got it. Don't do anything stupid.

Tyler: Thanks, Mom.

Alex noticed the look on Savannah's face, and she asked her what was going on. Savannah didn't say anything but instead thrust the phone into her hands. Shea leaned over and read over her shoulder. "Wow, someone is a little pissy after the loss," Shea commented.

"C'mon, let's get out of here," Alex told them. "I think a classic girls night out is in order. And Van, just ignore him. He's just pissed that they lost. Jamie, I'm sure, is the same way."

Savannah nodded her head. She'd let Tyler stew in his own anger. But, if he thought she was going to simply forget him acting like this towards her, he had another thing coming.
