Sent Down to the AHL

Well, it was fun while it lasted. I figured I would never get a real shot in the NHL. I have what it takes, but Murray and DeSmith are what the Pens chose as their goaltenders. The coach thinks I need to get more playing time, so that could be a reason why they sent me down. I do like playing, so maybe this isn't as bad as it looks. I just miss my girlfriend. I wish she was here with me, but she has a life in Pittsburgh. I don't want her to leave her job, family and friends to come be with me. I want her to be happy. I won't ever find a girl like her. She was the one. She's perfect. I take out my phone to send a quick text to Natalie. I am going to regret this.

Hey Natalie, can we talk?

She replies rather quickly.

Sure. How you doing?

Not so good. I think we should offically break up. I don't want you to wait for me. I don't want you to leave your family, friends and job to come here so it's over.

Tristan, please.

I'm sorry Natalie. I want you to find a guy that you can actually spend time with. I will be on the road and ice too much to keep you happy. I love you and I always will.

Just then, I blocked her number so that she just forgets about me.
