Hockey Swingers Club

Chapter 9

Once Aly and Chris decided to stop attending the swingers' meetings, life started to return to normal a bit. Chris was in the process of planning a surprise getaway with his wife after her two-week stint back to work, and they couldn't wait. It was also made known in the neighborhood that Lori has secretly started to attend therapy because the reveal about what her husband did has put an enormous about of stress on her, but because he made slightly more money than her is the reason she has not filed for divorce.

Aly was in the driveway, vacuuming out her car's rugs when Lori came rushing over, "Hey, hey! Are you okay? What's wrong?"

"I just had on the news...my god. Aly, it's terrible," Lori wailed.

"What happened!? Tell me!" Aly worried.

Streams of tears fell down Lori's face, "Madison....she's dead. The police found her body in a ditch five miles from her and Ryan's home."

Aly felt sick to her stomach over the news. She had become very friendly with Madison and were planning to go for drinks over the weekend, "What!? Where's Ryan!? Does he know?"

"He was on his way to the airport to pick up their friends who were supposed to stay over when the news broke. He's on his way back now. Who could do this!?" Lori cried.

"Well, let's see. Who else was she associated with? Like did she have any problems with anyone?" Aly asked.

Lori shook her head, "Not that I know of. Her parents and sister live in Nashville, along with some childhood friends, and all of us in the club were her only friends up here. Oh god...do you think someone from the swingers meetings did it?"

"But who? We all loved Maddy. This makes no sense," Aly said.

"They said on TV that all her friends would be interviewed by police to rule out any possible suspects. This is so sad," Lori added.

Later that afternoon, members of the Rye Police Department came by to interview everyone about who could possibly have it out for Maddy and want her dead. It was still a shock and no one wanted to believe she was actually gone. The men were being very supportive to their wives since they all considered Madison a wonderful girl and great friend.

"Officers, I have no idea as to who would hurt Maddy. She was the sweetest girl, never hurt a fly. I just can't fathom her not being here anymore. You need to find her killer," Beverly told the police.

"Ma'am, we're doing everything we can to catch this person. The medical examiner is working to see if she had any DNA on her that may point us to her killer," the police chief stated.

Another police officer noticed what he thought was blood on James' knuckles, "Sir, what happened to your hands?"

"I went to the gym today and did some punching on the bag. I forgot to wrap them first and I guess I got a little aggressive with it," James answered.

Aly had a gut feeling James was lying, but she had no proof. After the officers left, everyone returned to their homes hoping that a new lead would surface soon. The police department was kind enough to have patrol cars outside every couples' home just in case because if Maddy was targeted, anyone could be next.

Chris got in bed next to his wife as she watched baseball, slowly kissing her neck, "You smell good. I missed you."

Aly wasn't really in the mood for intimacy knowing a close friend was now gone, but Chris always had the tendency to make his wife feel better, "That tickles baby. A night of sex could do us some good."

"And I will always protect you my wife, I love you," Chris whispered against her temple.

Little did everyone know that a killer lived right next door.
