Eclipse

Chapter 7

"Thanks Pat, you were really helping me out," I said gratefully once we reached my car in the parking lot. "Anytime," he replied before saying, "I have to get going, so... see ya!" I nodded with a smile and said, "Alright, bye!" before I climbed in my car and turned the car on.

I had to tell Pat what happened, because... Well, he needed to know what was going on if I asked him to walk me to my car! I couldn't seem like a coward or scared of the dark. Patrick had promised not to tell anyone about the collision in highschool with Noah and our hatred towards each other, but I was still nervous. I didn't want him to let the words slip when he's drunk at a bar with the team.

I closed my car door and waited a minute before I buckled up and drove out of the parking lot. Evvery inch of my body was sore and aching from practice, so when I got home I was relieved to get ready for bed and jump in bed. I fell asleep easily and had the best sleep I'd had since I was a baby.

I woke up to the sound of someone going through my closet. When I opened my eyes, I saw the familiar dark brown hair hanging across a face that I knew only too well.

"Emily, care to explain what you're doing in my closet?" I asked tiredly as I stretched.
"Putting new clothes in your closet... and a few new shoes," I heard the muffled answer a moment before the tall young woman stood up with my worn black pair of converse shoes.

"I told you to get rid of these!" she said, sounding annoyed as she threw them on the ground along with my other shoes and clothes that I kept, even after being warned repeatedly by Emily to get rid of them.

"Okay, the only reason you'd do this is for some 'important' reason of yours. So start talking."
"You know me too well," Emily said with a smirk as she put on hand on her hip.

"Well, you'll be going out to a lot of bars and clubs after games with the Blackhawks, so you'll have to wear the appropriate clothes!" Emily exclaimed matter-of-factly.

I groaned as she stepped aside and I saw wedges amd heels lining the bottom of my closet with dresses on the rack.

"No... No, I'm not wearing dresses!" I said unhappily as I stormed over to my closet and threw the dresses out of my closet.

"Hey! Who knows what's better for what you wear, me, or you?" Emily said as she grabbed my arms and turned me to face her.

I sighed and said, "You..."

"Exactly! Now you will wear what I instruct!"

I rolled my eyes and stomped out of my room towards the small kitchen in my townhouse, Emily following. "Oh, its going to be rainy today, so I was thinking that we could go to the Mall!" Emily said excitedly.

I turned around before saying, "Emily. The Mall is not only one of my fears, but I also HATE it there! Do you underestand the meaning of hate? H-A-T-E!!!" I glared at her before turning around and pouring myself a bowl of cereal.

"Fine then! The movies!" she said indignantly, and I replied, "You finally understand what I like!"

An hour later I was dressed and we were on our way to the Mall. When Emily has her mind set on something, you can't change her mind. I just looked out the window as the rain slid down the glass, watching the raindrops race each other.

"Oh come on Lex, it'll be fun!" Emily said encouragingly and I only sighed. "The Mall is a boring place where clothes and food is. It's not going to be fun."

"Well with that attitude it won't be fun," Emily said as she galnced over at me. "Whatever."

We pulled into the parking lot and got out. I was wearing a Blackhawks sweatshirt with blue jeans and a pair of sneakers. Emily wouldn't stop talking quickly about the latest fashion.

I have no girly-girl, whatever you want to call it, in me. I enjoy being a tomboy, with no regrets. I hate nailpolish, the color pink, shopping, and anything else normal pink-and-shopping-loving-girls would like. Oh yeah, and Emily would be my twin if I liked any of the things I just said I hated (If I didn't play hockey).
