Jess was planning a charity event for the Bruins when she heard a knock on her apartment door. She quickly closed her black notebook and shoved it into a draw in her desk, "One second!" She dropped her pen into the cup while she pushed her chair out from underneath the desk.


Jess never liked to be interrupted while she planned a banquet, it was too much stress for her to try and focus while someone was trying to talk to her. She had to try to be, like, a super-hero with the name Majestic 'Multi-tasker', which she was far from.


"Sorry, Meghan," Jess opened the door, and to her surprise, Tyler Seguin stood outside with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses, "Tyler, uh, what are you doing here?"She opened the door a bit wider. Tyler didn't say anything, he just held up the wine and glasses, "That's it?" He shrugged, "Well, I guess wine would be nice." Jess nodded and motioned for him to come in.


Tyler smiled, he hadn't had the balls to speak to her so he hoped that she would just offer for him to come in. She did which made his smile turn to a smirk rather quickly. "This is nice," Jess laughed as she clicked her wine glass with Tyler's, "Thanks."


There was an awkward silence since Tyler still hadn't said a word since she opened the door, "Tyler, is there a reason you're here?" Jess asked and set her wine glass down on her kitchen counter.


"I just wanted to see if you'd reject me," He looked up at Jess, her eyes swelled with tears, "I didn't say anything because it would be a real blow to be rejected by someone I really liked."


Jess gulped and rubbed her eyes with her palms in disbelief, "I know what you mean," She said and took a sip of her wine. Tyler inched closer towards her, their eyes locked on each others, "I was never the same after that."


Tyler blinked, his hand gently rested on Jess' cheek as their foreheads touched lightly, "I don't see why anyone would reject you."

Jess looked down, a smile formed on her clean face, "I don't know, Tyler, you hardly know me." She breathed as Tyler's lips touched hers. She let go of her wine glass a few inches from the counter, it dropped to their feet, the glass shattered and wine covered their shoes.

Tyler pulled away, "God, I'm sorry." He frowned and bent down to start picking up the glass, "I-I couldn't help myself."

"Tyler, it's alright. I'll clean it up." Jess smiled as she bent down beside Tyler, "Thanks for this, Segs, I really enjoyed a little bit of company." She placed her hand on his forearm, "Seriously, it means the world to me."

Tyler looked down at her hand and smirked, "It was my pleasure," He nodded, their faces a few inches away from each other. Tyler leaned in to kiss Jess again, but she turned away.

"You really should go, you have a game tomorrow and team breakfast in the morning." Jess said and carefully picked up the pieces of glass. She saw the look on Tyler's face, she just rejected him, in a way.

Tyler stumbled to his feet, "How'd you know about the team breakfast?"

"I'll be there." Jess said slowly.

"Why?" Tyler said and started towards the door, "It's not like you're the coach's daughter or anything." He laughed and Jess smiled.


"Anyway," She stood up and walked to the door with Tyler, "Thanks again."

Tyler kissed her cheek softly, he only had to lean down a few inches since Jess stood at a proud 5'10, "I'll see you tomorrow, Jess."


"Bye Tyler," She said and closed the door behind him, "And just so you know," She whispered to herself, "I am the coach's daughter."
