Tell Me That You Love Me

Chapter 2

Sidney's POV

Earlier I had had a meeting with me, Ray Shero, Dan Blysma, Geno, Brooks Orpik and Flower, and some boss of a Pittsburgh sports magazine, Justin Anderson. He wanted one of his writers to travel with the Pens for a whole season.

I wasn't so into it, I mean, a writer is going to come and travel with us. She's going to know all about our personal lives and then broadcast it to the world. Everyone's going to know eerything that goes on. Sure thats all Pittsburgh WANTS to hear about, but I'm not comforable with that.

Geno, Marc-Andre and Brooks all thought it was genius. Coach and Ray thought it was great too. I didn't voice any opinion during the meeting. When Mr. Anderson said, "Pittsburgh wants to know about Sid the Kid, so she might be trailing you a little bit."

I really wish we had said NO.

As I walked out of the meeting, I decided to grab a coffee in a little shop. The others all went on without me.

Walking out, I barely noticed the girl in red rushing towards me. Right before she hit me, I realized she was a crazy fan.

She was probably around 5 foot 5, and when she ran right into me i dropped my coffee. On her nice red shirt. The coffee was pooling arpund her shoes, and mine of the formely white tile.

She looked up at me, and in her eyes was fire. She looked so pissed off at me, I couldn't help but snap, "Watch it!"

"No SORRY?" She screeched. Yikes, she was so small that I was blown away for a moment. I was unsure what to say next. No one ever talks to me with that tone unless I fucked up a play. No one ever does. I wondered if she could tell I was totally flustered, but she continued. "Thanks a lot! I was going to be late for me meeting as it is, without this!"

I don't really argue with people outside of hockey, but I felt the urge to continue this. So I did. "This never would have happened if you would have watched where you were going!" It felt unnatural to argue with her, so I hoped I sounded convincing. I could see the coffee stain spreading on her red shirt, and I wanted to apologize.

You should REALLY just move out of my way!"

She hit me with her oversized purse and pushed passed me, making sure to hit my shoulder in the process.

I spun around, but she didn't look back.

I almost wished she had stayed, and argued. You know in those movies where the girl is screaming at the boy then the boy shuts her up with a kiss? I could have seen that happening. But if I had, I could already see a restraining order in the works.

I grabbed some paper towels from an empty office. I cleaned up the coffee, and right before I was finished, some lady, probably in her early 40s came over and bent down next to me.

"Need some help, Sidney?"

Just by the look in her eyes I had figured out my reply. "I'm 25."

She got up and walked away. I supressed my laughter and got up myself, and headed outside
To my car.
