Ashley’s POV
I straightened out my dress for what seemed like the thousandth time.
“For god’s sakes woman stop fidgeting!” my best friend Trisha said exasperatedly from her perch on my bed.
“Trish, I really like this guy. I have every right to be extremely nervous and fidgety!” but I knew she was right, that I was over reacting. I gave myself one last look in the mirror before I sat down lightly on the bed next to hear. I let out a long slow breath that I hadn’t realized I had been holding.
“Ash, this guy obviously really likes you, he sent you flowers and he’s made you the happiest you’ve been in a long time. This date is the second, you’re past first impressions. Now it’s that you need to show him your true you and hope that his first impression wasn’t misleading. That’s what date number two is all about.” Trisha said softly trying to get my nerves to calm down.
I looked up at her, “you’re right. Sorry.” We both stood up and just then the door bell rang. My eyes widened and I looked at Trish who grinned at me and gave me two thumbs up. I walked out of my bedroom and was about to open the door when I ran back to Trish and gave her a big hug, “Where would I be without you!? Thank you!”
She laughed and pushed me off of her shooing me towards the door, “Go have fun and don’t worry I won’t be here when you get back.” She said with a wink and suggestive tone. I scoffed at her before turning around and answering the door.
Tyler’s POV:
It had felt like the longest road trip of my life. I couldn’t shake Ashley out of my head and I after she had called me and said yes to our date on Friday my nerves had escalated. By the time we got back in Boston it felt like the butterflies in my stomach were going to rip out of
me at any moment. Thank God I had Freddy otherwise I probably would have gone insane.

Standing in front of Ashley’s door I knocked, took a deep breath and took a step back. Then realizing how nervous I was, I decided to lean against the door frame for support so that she wouldn’t open the door and find me sprawled out unceremoniously on the hallway floor.
When she opened the door my breath hitched. She was wearing a simple royal blue dress that hugged her upper body curves before coming out into a small flare skirt at her hips that came just above her knees, at the waist there was a slim shiny black belt that went with her black heels and black coat. She grabbed her purse and closed her apartment door. I put my hand on the small of her back and lead her to the elevator. When the doors closed we finally both said our first words of the evening to each other.
“You look beautiful.” I told her and was rewarded with her looking up at me with her delicate blue eyes and her suggestive little grin that always made you feel like she knew exactly what was going through your head at that moment. “Thank you, you look pretty handsome yourself.” She replied in a soft voice.

After dinner we went for a short walk but being as we were still recovering from the freak snowstorm we didn’t last long before we ran back to the warmth of my car. As we sat there warming our hands and faces in front of the heaters I couldn’t help but feel happier than I’ve ever felt before. Here I was, freezing, trying to warm up in my car but for some reason I couldn’t be happier and I couldn’t help as my body warmed itself with joy rather than actual heat.
“You know, in Florida we don’t have to do this.” She said laughing.
I laughed too, “Welcome to the north Ashley, home of the snow, pine trees, and ski resorts.” I added a wink.
“Well if you’re ever in Florida you’re going to be in the south, home of the sun, palm trees, and beaches.” She stuck her tongue at me and added, “This cold thing is a nice change of pace though” as she sighed and leaned back in her seat.
“Yeah I guess for you it is but for me it’s just habit.” We both fell silent for a bit and I found myself getting lost in her eyes again.
Suddenly before I knew what I was doing I was leaning in towards her,
