The Story Of How We Meet

Danielle's POV:
Today is the day of the 2009 NHL draft and I was so excited I can't believe my dad is the new head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. I can't believe he let me actually come with him I've wanted my whole life to come to one these things every since my dad started working with the Avalanche as an assistant. I love hockey and I'm not a puck slut I grew up in a hockey family both my dad and uncle played in the NHL.

"Danielle come on we are going to be late if you don't hurry" My dad scream from our hotel room "I'm almost done dad I have to brush my teeth" I yelled back "you have been in there for an hour" he said "Okay I'm done are you happy" I said "Finally we have to get down there" he said.

My Dad and I were walking in the hallway when one guy caught my eye. "Dad who is that boy that keeps staring at me" I asked "Oh Danielle that's Matt Duchene that's who we might draft remember" he said "Oh I remember but I don't remember what he look like until my you told me" I said.

It was time for the Avalanche to pick. John Tavares and Victor Hedman already went. Our general manager Greg Sherman went up to the stage "On the behalf of the Colorado Avalanche Organization with the 3rd pick in the 2009 NHL draft we select Matt Duchene of the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League.
