And That Was When Everything Fell Apart
Steph's POV
I stared straight at Sidney, my shocked expression still on my face. Alex looked over at me. "Ah, Stephie, I can finally introduce you to one of my best hockey friends, Sidney Crosby. That's the only sole reason he's here tonight! Sid, this is my sister-" "Stephanie. I know." Sidney said coldly, his tone matching his facial expression. Alex looked confused, staring from Sidney to me. Sid walked up to me, an took hold of my wrost rather harshly.
'"Can I talk to you outside for a minute?" But before I could reply, he walked out of the hall with me and out to the front. I could feel the storm coming. Everything was coming undone, it all was falling apart. I opened my mouth to speak, but he was faster. "How could you. How could you not tell me, that your my best friend, who is like my brother, his sister?" I felt the tears stinging my eyes as i held my gaze towards the ground. "HOW COULD YOU?!" He yelled at me.
"Sidney, I didn't want it to be different between us, I just-" I knew I would start crying if I tried to speak anymore.
He scoffed. "You were the first fucking girl that I actually wanted to get close to, because I thought you were different, unlike the other sluts that throw themselves at me all the time. I opened up to you, told you my damn secrets, and yet you keep such a big thing from me, the fact that your Alex fucking Ovechkin's sister. WHY THE HELL COULDN'T YOU HAVE JUST TOLD ME? " i couldn't hold it anymore, and the tears started flowing. He kicked a flower vase by the door, sending it crashing to the ground. "Yeah, I thought you were kind of snobby and rude, but I thought you were better than that. Nope, turns out you were a BITCH." he walked off from the sidewalk towards his car, Just as Alex came out.
"Okay, what is going on, what happened, why are you crying..? And how do you and Sid know each other?" He asked completley clueless. Sidney turned towards him.
"Why don't you ask your sister over there, Alex. Oh wait, maybe she'll lie to you too." He slammed the door to his car shut as he got in.
Alex, looked over at me. "Get in the car, now." He said sternly.
"Wait, look Alex, we don't -" he turned towards me.
"GET IN THE DAMN CAR STEPHANIE. NOW." His tone told me that this would'nt be good at all. When he called me Stephanie, nothing was ever bound to go well.
Sidney's POV
I slumped down in the car, and thought of what just happened. How could she not tell me? I was finally falling for a girl, and she's my best friend's sister. And she doesn't tell me. That would ruin things even fucking more. I slammed my phone into the backseat, hearing a cracking sound. I didn't need anyone to piss me off even more now. I put the car into reverse, and pulled out of the parking lot.
Steph's POV
The car ride home was in complete and utter silence, the only sound in the car the radio, playing at a low volume. We pulled into the driveway and I saw that my parents were already home. Shit. Alex walked ahead of me and I followed, my gaze to the ground and mascara streaked tears down my cheeks. I walked into the living room.
"So why the hell are you sneaking behind my back and hooking up with hockey players?" He asked me, trying to keep his temper under control.
"What the hell, Alex I am NOT trying to hook up with anyone!" I answered in protest.
He smirked. "Really, 'cause when I tell you to stay away from them, you go behind my back and do just what I told you not to do. And that too with my BEST FRIEND, who was like my brother. WHY? I TOLD YOU SO MANY TIMES, and still, you just.." His voice trailed off. " I never thought that you'd become a PUCK SLUT!" He slammed the wall behind me, sending family pictures of our trips to disneyland as kids shattering to the ground. I looked into his eyes, feeling the anger coming off of him like heat.
"You were my older brother. I'm your baby sister. Well, then it should've been your job to protect me." I whispered. I stood where I was and watched as Alex stormed off towards the backyard, where my parents were. I fell to the ground against the wall.
The storm was here, and it is bad, but the worst is yet to come.
