True North

Night on the Town

"Hurry you're ass up, Auden!" Abby said as I was putting on my heels. We were just about to leave for a much needed girls night. The two of us were to be separated for the first time since birth as we parted ways for college. I was going to be attending Boston College, where as Abby was going to be attending Georgian College in our hometown of Barrie. We delayed leaving a year, deciding it would be nice to take a break from school, but now it was all coming so quick. Two different countries, several miles separating us, how were we going to survive?

Our whole summer was planned out to spend as much time as possible in each other's company, and this weekend was to be spent in the big city: Toronto, to which we were no strangers. Shopping by day, clubbing by night, what more can a girl ask for?

"... I'm coming, I'm coming!" I replied, I was doing my best to hurry up, but Abby was so impatient.

"So, think you'll be bringing anyone back to the hotel tonight?" Abby said teasingly as we left our room.

"Do I ever?"

"Oh common! Have some confidence in your self for once!"

"Sadly, I've been drained of that." With that, our conversation stopped. We rode the elevator in silence.

The club wasn't as busy as normal for a change, perfect! I hated busy places, my mild social anxiety was the cause of this. Abby and I went up to the barn to grab a drink. I was just about to pay to bartender, when someone came up behind me and handed him a twenty.

"I'll pay for this beauty!" The man grinned.

"Wow, thank you!" I rarely had drinks bought for me, I may have been a little to excited for my own good.

"Don't mention it. Return the favour and dance with me?" He winked. This guy looked oddly familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I glanced over at Abby, she gave me a thumbs up, already flirting with a man of her own. "Okay, lets go!" Time to let loose for once.

We made our way to the dance floor, and immediately got down to it. His hands were on my hips, my hands on top of his. We were pressed together as tight as we could possibly go without restricting our ability to move along with the music. I hadn't been comfortable to dance like this in a long time, and with a complete stranger? This totally wasn't the Auden I knew myself to be.

It seemed like we were pressed against each other forever when suddenly I was twirled around to face the guy I was dancing with. Things got hotter and hotter between us, and before I could object, we were making out. Wait, what? Had I totally lost it? I would say it was the alcohol, but I only had that one drink. Was this... confidence? I didn't even think before I blurted out: "Lets get out of here."

He agreed, and off we went to my hotel room. Good thing abby and I got a suite, I thought. I quickly texted Abby before our cab arrived, letting her know that I was going back to the hotel.
Instantly my phone vibrated, "Have fun;)" Abby replied.

Myself and this complete stranger couldn't take our eyes off each other the entire cab ride, the playful looks were beginning to become too much to handle. Just in time, the cab stopped at my hotel, and up to the tenth floor we went. I had just barely opened the door to the room before this total stranger pushed me against the wall, and started making out with me again. Slowly, our clothes came off, a little too slow.
"You're beautiful." He said after the majority of my clothes were gone. I didn't know how to reply, the last person to say that to me left me without a second thought. So, instead of saying anything, I dropped to my knees, and we were off for a night of fun.

I woke up in the arms of one very muscular man. My confusion quickly faded when I remembered last nights events, I smiled at the memory, but that immediately turned into regret. One night stands were definitely not my thing. Quickly pushing my remorse away, I turned around to look at him, and finally realized who it was.

He stirred, and opened his eyes, looking confused. He too quickly remembered what happened last night, and smiled. We cuddled together for another hour, when he decided it was time for him to go.

"Can I see you again sometime?" He asked me.

"Oh, I'm sure you'll be seeing me." I replied, he looked at me confused, but decided to leave it at that. He quickly dressed, kissed my forehead, then left, completely trusting that he would indeed see me again.

My parents had bought me bruins season tickets; they were my favourite team. Whether or not it was a good thing, I would be seeing this "stranger" a whole lot in the up coming year. I started day dreaming about what would happen if we met again. I was definitely hoping we would. Maybe I wouldn't regret this too much after all

"AUDEN!" I recognized the voice as Abby's.

"Yes?" Here come the questions

"Get your butt out here!"

"Coming." Oh god, how do I answer these. I threw on some pyjamas, and met Abby in the living room of the suite.

"So, what happened last night?!" She winked.

"Well, I slept with Dougie Hamilton." I didn't know how else to say it

Notes

I know this is a terribly short chapter, but I promise I will make the next one last! My plan is to carry this story on through the season when it starts. And unfortunately you guys will have to stick out a really long september within the story, but once again, I promise to make it worth your while!
This is my first story, and I have not written in a couple of months. I'll get better as time goes on, I swear to you, I just needed to get back into the swing of things, from here on out I should be able to do this a little better.
