Don't Get Laid Where You Get Paid

~The Interview~

"So Miss Ferris, you've been with us for quite a long time, if I am not correct? How long?" Mr. Flemmings asked, trying to seem casual.

"This will be my fourth year sir,"

"Fourth year, wait-four years!? How old were you when you got a job here?" he asked extremely shocked.

"16." Yikes! Am I ever feeling old now.

"Right, anyway, since you've been able to maintain an excellent work ethnic, graduate high school and complete college courses since you've been working here," he paused, looking straight at my eyes, causing me to panic. "And due to your incredible work not only in your job here, but also your impressive credits and work process, not to mention your personality, it gives me pleasure to move you up to become a water girl." Did those words really just come out of his mouth? I am dumbfounded.

"Sir, are you serious?" I asked, making sure he was being real with me.

"No. I'm not," what the hell? Is this man trying to hive me a heart attack?

"You actually have an interview today to become an assistant," he laughed.

"Really?" I asked, choking out my words.

"Yes!" he laughed, getting out of his seat to give me a hug, which usually I would not want to give him one. But today-who cares!?!

"Oh my Gosh, sir I will not let you down I promise! Thank you so much!" I said,
giving him the biggest hug ever.

"Alright, I'm glad to see your happy about the move," he laughed,."But to be honest, we don't usually jump this far up, but when they were searching your profile, they loved it and wanted to interview you immediately."

This day is getting way too cool!

"Oh my gosh, words can not explain how happy I am! Thank you!!"

"Your welcome, your welcome. Now let's get you to your interview,"

"Wha-right now?"

"Yes, they think its better to meet you right away so they know your not putting on a front."

"Why?"

"They want somebody to be very real and straight up, since they'll be spending so much time
with everybody. Being straight up is perfect for you because that is how you are." he said, making me seem like a bitch. Well, let him, cuz today I could become an assistant!

We walked out into the room, everyone giving looks, like, 'where is she going?'. I wanted to flip all of em off as I left, see ya later, good riddance, you know? We walked down the side of the hall, then up the elevator to the top level where all the 'important people' are. The butterflies in my stomach were fluttering so badly, I was weak in the knees. When we made it
and exited the elevator, we walked down another hall and made it to the door of
an office. I swallowed deeply and felt a hand on my back.

"Good luck, you'll be fine," Mr. Flemmings said.

"Thanks," I choked out. I am so nervous. I look like crap because I came here thinking I would actually be doing some work and this is just ridiculous. They better think I can dress myself up for the occasion because I easily can!

A man came out and asked me to come in his room, I did. It was a very nice office, much better then the crappy one Mr. Flemmings has, with a great view of the city. "Please take a
seat," the man said. "Hello, I'm Ray Shero, General Manager,"

"And I'm Dan Bylsma, head coach,"

"Hello, Kayla Ferris," I introduced myself, shaking hands.

"So can we please get a little background information about you personally?"
Ray asked.

"Sure, I'm currently 20 years old, my birthday is October 20th, 1987.
I'm originally from Edmonton, Alberta, I moved here with my mom when I was 13,
and started working here when I as 16, anything else?"

"Academic background?" Dan asked, looking up from his desk.

"Okay, I graduated high school one year early in 2004 when I was 16 years old, instead of graduating in 2005. Then I started to take college courses for management, in hopes to become an assistant of some sort," I smiled. "I am qualified in many things as you can see on my resume." How did they even get my resume, I thought.

"Very impressive," they nodded.

They asked me a few more questions and then I was done. They said I'd get feedback later on today. So for that amount of time waiting, I had to go outside to the waiting area, where I ran into Karl.

"Assistant?" he asked.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" he gave me a look. "You too?" I asked in shock.

"Yeah, how did your interview go?"

"Good, they seemed impressed."

"I'm sure they were."

"You?"

"It was okay." We talked for a bit longer than we expected. Next thing we knew that we were
getting called in. The butterflies were back.
