That Summer
That Answer Your Question Bennett?
*Katie’s POV
“So Katie, where are you going on our first date?” Beau asked me as we both lay, staring at the ceiling. “What?” I said, replying to him. “Ya know, we have basically done everything except go on a date.” He gave me a look like come on Katie get with it and kissed my forehead. “Ok Beau, where do you want to go?” He looked back up at the ceiling and bit his lip. “Umm let’s see. Not much to do in Pittsburgh eh?” I laughed and nodded my head at the same time. “Maybe we can..umm....” He trailed off, trying to think of a good place until I said something. “Beau, it doesn’t have to be exciting, we can just go to a regular restaurant and worry about interesting stuff later. In my book you have already impressed me.” I smirked as I looked up at Beau. “I tend to do that a lot.” Rolling my eyes, I kissed him on the cheek and got out of bed. Ignoring what he just said, I said “Alright, well I will find a place and we will go there tomorrow night.” “Sounds good Katie.” he said as I put my skinny jeans back on. We both heard the door to his apartment open. “Shit, what’s Neal doing back so early?” he said, getting out of bed and pulling his shirt over his head. “You better get dressed quickly.” Beau said as he helped me put my own shirt on. “Hey, I’m capable of doing that.” I said, grabbing his waist and pressing my lips against his. He finished getting dressed and we both went out to greet James.
“Neal, what the hell are you doing here?” Beau said to James as we walked into the kitchen. “Beau be nice.” I said, elbowing him in the arm. “No, it’s ok Katie. I get this from shit from him every day.” James pulled a beer out of the fridge and opened it up with his hands. “Was I interrupting something?” he said, winking at Beau. I blushed a little as Beau got all defensive. “Nooo, you came at the best time possible.” James rolled his eyes, and took another big sip of his Bud Light. “Well I’m sorry Beau, I guess I’m used to coming home to the ‘Lonely Beau’ instead of the ‘Horny Beau’.” I laughed a little at James’ reply. “Hey, when’s the last time you brought a girl home Neal!” Beau said. They started to argue about girls they’ve brought home. After a minute, I stepped in. “Guys, I really don’t feel like listening to how many girls you have brought home, so I’m gonna head back to my dorm, and you can argue all you want once I leave.” They both looked at me. “Leaving already?” Beau said, putting his hands on my waist. “Get a room!” James said, staring at us. We both ignored him. “Yeah, I’m tired, and need to study. I’ll call you with the plans later.” I kissed him on the cheek and headed for the door. “Bye Katie.” I heard both of them say as I shut the door behind me.
“This is nice.” I said as we stepped into the modern day restaurant. “You like?” he said as the host took us to our seats. “I really like it.” After an hour of looking at reviews of restaurants on ,my computer last night, Beau called me and told me about his favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. It was the Six Penn Kitchen. It was crowded so it had to mean the food was good. Before we got our food we talked about my plans in the future. I told him how I honestly had no clue where I was going to go after college. I wanted to move to Boston, because I had family there, but I really didn’t know. Beau listened to every word I said as I rambled on and on until our food came. Then, we ate in silence. The waiter came over while in the middle of our meal. “You two must really like your meal; you haven’t said a single word to each other.” “We do...very much” Beau said, wiping his mouth with his napkin. “Yah, I noticed your girlfriend immediately stopped talking once the chicken was placed in front of her.” I blushed at what the waiter had just said. Girlfriend? Were we official? We must have looked it. Me and Beau hadn’t even talked about our relationship status. We actually didn’t talk much at all- just sex.
The waiter left and Beau looked at me with his gorgeous blue eyes. “Girlfriend eh? I like it” I blushed again while Beau continued to stare at me. “Am I?” I asked him, with a slight smile on my face. “Do you want to be?” he asked me. I leaned over the table and brushed my lips against his. Both our bodies shivered. “That answer your question Bennett?”
