Katie's POV

"Katie!" I heard everyone yell as I stepped into the house. It was finally Christmas. I was so happy to be back home with my family and friends. The red and green lights hung from the house and the big Christmas tree was gleaming in the living room for everyone to see. Our house was filled with my dad’s friends from work and their children. It was our annual Christmas Eve party. I got there a little late but it didn't really matter. The party was just getting started. I hugged my parents and chatted with the family friends for about 15 minutes before moving on. The real party was out back. I opened the patio door to see all my friends hanging by the pool. "Rather warm Christmas." I said surprising them as I took my shoes off. "Katie!" They all yelled. Annabella was the first to hug me. "I've missed you Bella." It felt a little different then hanging with them before. Obviously Gabe wasn't there but something was still different. Maybe it was the fact that Gally and I's sexual tension no longer existed or how Annabella was single (as far as I know). It was strange. I was so wrapped up in school and Beau that I even forgot my friends back home. I hugged the rest of them and said "I'm gonna change into my bathing suit but I'll be right back." They all nodded as I went back up to my old room. I put on my silver bikini before heading back downstairs.

There were some people there that I didn’t even recognize. "Annabella who the hell are some of these people?" I asked her as we sat poolside. "Beats me. Gally introduced me to his girlfriend earlier, I think her name is Christine or Kristin...I don't know, something like that." "Girlfriend?" She nodded her head as I looked at Gally. Sure enough he was 'wrestling' with this blonde girl in the water. I felt a pang of sadness in my heart as I watched her kiss him and tug on the string of his bathing suit. Why did I feel sad? I had a boyfriend. Me and Gally had decided to move on a while ago. I think I was just sad that my high school life was over. I forgot how much things have changed. Watching Gally and that chick in the water made me realize how much I missed Beau. He headed to California a couple of days before I left. We promised each other that we would spend New Year's together in Pittsburgh and I haven't even told my parents yet. My parents thought I would be staying with them until a week after New Year’s but I decided I wanted to spend it with Beau. And the best part was that I wasn't staying in my dorm, rather, staying with him in his apartment. James won't be there, so Beau and I have a week to ourselves. I was glad to be home but I couldn’t wait for Beau.

"Katie? You still there?" Annabella asked, snapping me out of it. I shook my head. "Yah sorry, just zoned out a little." Annabella laughed. "I think you were drooling a little there." I used my hand to wipe my mouth. "Ugh sorry, I was just thinking about Beau." Annabella whipped her head towards me. "Beau? You're not over him Katie?" I was a bit confused for a moment before I realized I had never told Annabella about me and Beau. For the next couple of minutes I filled her in with the all details about me and beau, including our New Year’s plans. "Oooh have fun with that Katie." she said to me. "I definitely will. Especially since we're gonna go a week without sex." She rolled her eyes. "I was just kidding!" We both laughed as we felt hands on our backs that pushed us both in the water. Annabella and I submerged out of the water and turned around to see Matt laughing. "Seriously Matt?!" We said at the same time. Annabella was more mad than I was, but that was because I hadn’t even talked to Matt yet. I got out of the water and walked towards Matt. "Aww looks like you need a hug Matty." I said to him as he walked backwards. "Please don't Katie, I don't wanna get wet." "Too late!" I yelled as I hugged him and we both fell in the pool. Everyone laughed as we swam in the pool. I was definitely glad to be home.
