KATIE'S POV

The last couple of weeks have been rough on Beau. He was disappointed about his team losing to Montreal and not going to the next round. Montreal had a very good chance of winning the Stanley Cup. They were playing game 4 in the final round tomorrow night. Meanwhile, Beau wanted to get his mind off things and get a head start in the off season He had invited me to meet his parents in California. I was a little nervous. I had never had a boyfriend where I needed to meet his parents. From where I was from, you just knew the parents beforehand. But whatever...I figured I would soon get over it.

"Hey Katie" I heard Beau's voice from the other room. "Hey" I replied. "Where ya been?" Beau kissed my cheek before answering. "I was just with Nealer at the rink" I nodded my head and went back to packing my clothes for California. On the way, we would stop at my parents house for a couple days. I still haven't told them about Beau. They still thought I was living in a dorm. Fun surprise for them, thats for sure.

The rest of the afternoon I packed my stuff and helped Beau with his. We were leaving at 3 in the morning for the airport so I needed to go to bed early. At 7, I shut off the lights and decided to try and sleep as best as I could. I'm usually a night person so going to bed at 7 is definitely out of the ordinary.

Ugh, the alarm going off at 3 is definitely not something I could get used too. Beau stirred next to me as I put the side lamp on. "Come on baby, we gotta get up" I said, trying to pull the blankets off of him. He groaned and faced the other way. "Beau!" I yelled. It was useless. He was a heavy sleeper. I heard the bedroom door open and looked to see James at the doorway. "Can't get him up eh?" He asked me. "Does it look like I can?" I said jokingly. He laughed and went over to Beau and sat bedside. I stood a couple of feet away from them wondering what James was gonna do. All of a sudden James whispered something in Beau's ears. Immediately Beau got out of bed wide awake. James smiled and exited the room. I was confused. What the hell did he just say to him? "Good morning baby" he said stretching his arms. "What did he just say to you?" I asked, wrapping my arms around my shirtless, really attractive boyfriend. "Oh he said nothing" I made a face that told him I knew he was lying. "Let's go Beau."

"Thanks mom, thanks Dad" I said hugging them at the door. Beau and I had stayed for 4 days at my parents house. They really liked Beau and the fact that he was so nervous around them. The first night we slept in different rooms. My parents didn't really like the idea of me sleeping in the same bed so I could tell they set up a plan from doing so. But by the 2nd night, I had snuck Beau in my room so we could be together. It was strange though. Sleeping with Beau in my childhood room was weird. Not because of my 3rd grade dolls still on the ground but it had reminded me of Gally. Last person...and only person to sleep in that bed with me was Alex. And when Beau was in it I could just feel the essence of Gally around me. Other than that, the trip went pretty good. "Stay safe you two" My dad said. Beau hugged my mom while I hugged my dad. We got in the car and headed to the beautiful Sunshine State.

With the sand between my toes and Beau and I lay on a single towel, I let out a breath. "This is nice" I said slowly, meaning every bit of it. "I knew you would like it" I turned to face him. "So you lived here everyday and did this everyday?" Beau laughed a little. "Well I did live here everyday but I didn't get to spend everyday having sex with a beautiful girl on the beach." I was glad it was so sunny out. He couldn't see me blushing as I thanked him. After a second I said to myself. Did he just say sex? I soon picked up the hint and kissed faintly. I heard my phone vibrate. Someone was calling me but I ignored it. "Better hope your parents don't come home" was the last thing I said to him as I winked.
