Goodnight Moon

rubber and dirt

"The Diamond cafe?!" Leah said in a shocked but excited tone when I pulled my range rover into a parking space next to her favorite restaurant.

"how did you remember that i love this place?" She said while she turned in her seat to look at me.

"oh, please. How could i forget? Remember that one time when you broke your damn pinky toe and you cried until your dad came here and got you a vanilla milkshake?" I said, cracking up when her face turned bright red.

"hey! It's not funny! My pinky toe will never be the same again" she said while looking down at her foot and frowining the fakest frown i have ever seen.

"aww, you poor thing. We better go get you a milkshake before you start crying.....again" i added while opening up her door for her.

I was thanful that the resturante was pretty much empty. It isso much easier and more enjoyable to eat when 30 people aren't hovering over you, demanding you sign pucks and sweaters. Don't get me wrong, I adore our fans, but sometimes things get carried away.

I was broken out of my thoughts when Leahs elbow nudged my arm.

"hellooooo, earth to captain crosby. Are you going to order?" She said, making the waiter smile a very jealous smile.

"uhh yeah, i'll have what she's having" i said, trying to get the pink flush to leave my cheeks

"why are you laughing?"

"oh, you'll find out soon enough" was all she said while she went to town stacking little containers of jelly into a pyramid on the table.

not to be outdone, i reached behind me and grabbed a bowl containg multiple jelly containers.

"you're not going to win" Leah said while focusing hard on her small jelly structure. "I always win at this game"

I quickly realized that she was right, i suck ass at this game.

Leah had three levels of her little jelly house built up by the time that i had only one. When our drinks came, i bit the end of the paper on my straw off and blew it directly into the middle of her house, watching it tumble down and jelly containers fall on her lap.

"you little shit head!" Was all she got out before our food arrived. Her frown quickly turned into a huge smile when the waiter put my plate down in front of me.

"I did't know you liked burgers. Good choice!" I said while taking a bite out of it.

"Oh my god what the hell is this!" I said, spitting out whatever i just ate into my napkin.

She was cracking up at this point, barely able to say anything.

'that would be a chickpea burger" she said in a devilish tone, as if to mock me for destroying her jelly house.

"how can you eat this shit?! It tastes like mushy rubber and dirt" i said while staring at the..."burger"...trying to figure out what kind of evil person would come up with such a terrible idea.

I was just about to continue on about how awful this thing was when a big shadow casted over me. I looked up and realized that Flower and Geno were standing outside, looking at us while they were playfully smacking each other and smiling like a bunch of three year olds. Before i knew it, the two goons were piling in our booth. Geno of course, chose to sit uncomfortably close to Leah.

"wife. You go on date with me, not him." the smooth Russian said to Leah while placing a kiss on her hand.

"I take you out to dinner tonight, treat you like a lady. What you say? You come?" Geno said in a low voice while practically stairing right through her. I wad laughing in my head until her voice broke me from my thoughts.

"I would love to go out to dinner with you"
