Chapter Three - Lazy Days Are The Best

Waking up the next morning, to the smell of frying bacon and warm maple syrup, I already knew today would be a good day. Sliding one slender leg after the other out from under my soft, warm comforter, I stretch myself out momentarily before actually getting out of bed. Rubbing my eyes, my feet pad lightly on the cold hardwood floor as I cross my room to open the window.
A light, butterflies in my stomach feeling overcomes my senses as I think about last night. My heart skips a beat and I start to feel a bit flustered. Smiling to myself, I gently open the doors to my closet before flipping the lights on inside. Dragging my feet as I slowly walk to the back of my closet, one of the wire hangers shocks my finger as I reach out for my favorite cremé colored sweater. Shaking my hand slightly, I slide the sweater off of the hanger and fling it over my shoulder as I rummage through my jeans.
Changing out of my sleepware and into the clothes I've picked for today, I toss my old clothes in the hamper before picking up my favorite pair of golden gladiator sandals. Slipping my sandals on quickly, I shut off the lights in my room and closet. Exiting my room ever so quietly, I sneak into Brittany's bathroom to do my makeup. I have my own makeup, a lot of it to be honest, but she has a few things that would match perfectly with my outfit.
Putting everything back where I found it, I casually stroll into the kitchen to find Sophia standing in front of the stove flipping some delicious looking golden pancakes.
"Phia!!" I exclaim rushing over to her. "What are you doing here so early in the morning? And making us breakfast?" I ask, teasing her slightly. "Shouldn't you be making Johnny his breakfast?"
"He's have a men's day with his dad and David." Sophia explains, sliding the pancakes onto a fourth plate, most likely for herself. "Besides, it isn't that early and I like to cook for you girls. And I have a question I need to ask all of you, you especially." she says, licking the syrup off of her index finger.
"It must be a special question for you to make us all this glorious breakfast to go along with it." I say, picking up a plate and setting it down at our little dining room table. Grabbing a fork, some napkins and pouring myself a glass of orange juice I take a seat next to Sophia.
"It is, a very special question." Sophia murmurs, her plump lips form a playful smirk. "Mel! Brit! Breakfast is ready! Get your tiny, graceful butts out here before it gets cold!" She shouts in the direction of Melanie's room.
"What are they doing in there?" I ask absentmindedly as I start to cut up my pancakes.
"I'm not sure exactly," Sophia starts to say before taking a bite of her bacon. Swallowing, she looks back up at me, her eyebrows raised a little. "I think they're discussing Brittany's plans for tonight."
"What plans?" I inquire, wondering what Brittany has up her sleeves this time.
"You'd have to ask her to find out for sure, but I think she's finally ready for Andrew." Sophia explains as Brittany and Melanie finally decide to join us.
"Ready...ready for wha..OH! Nevermind. I get it now." I mutter quietly, munching on a crispy piece of bacon.
"You get what now?" Brittany asks, pouring some syrup on her pancakes before handing the bottle to Melanie.
"N..nothing. Just what Sophia was telling me about." I say, trying to divert the conversation to something else. "You said you had to ask us something, right Soph?" I ask, turning the attention to her.
"Yes! I wanted to ask you three beautiful girls if you would be in my wedding, as bridesmaides?" She asks, mainly focusing on Brittany and Melanie.
"Of course! We'd love to!" Melanie answers for both her and Brittany who just nods in agreement.
"Great! I'm so happy you guys said yes!" Sophia pauses, directing her attention towards me this time. "Chels, I was wondering if you would do me the honor of being my Maid of Honor?" She asks, a hopeful look in her expression.
"I'd love to! But what about Georgia?" I reply, questioning about her sister.
"Well, Jonathan and I have a date set and Georgia won't be in the country during that whole month. She has to do something for work, blah, blah, blah. I get her hint and I don't care, she won't ruin my special day. Besides, you're like my little sister!" Sophia elaborates, rolling her eyes when she mentions her sister won't be here for the wedding.
"Awh, well thank you for choosing me! I promise to make you proud!" I say with a wink.
Taking the last sip of my orange juice, I set all of my garbage on my now empty plate and offer to take anyone else's dirty dishes to the sink to rinse them off before putting them in the dishwasher. Melanie hands me her dish, as well as Sophia. Brittany, being Brittany still had about two slices of bacon and half a pancake left on her dish. I can't say much though, typically I'm the slowest eater in the house.
As I'm putting the dishes in the dishwasher, Brittany walks up behind me nudging me in the side gently. I hold out my hand to take her dish and put it in the dishwasher before closing the door and starting it.
"Hey Chels, can I ask you something? You don't have to answer or anything but I just want your advice on something." Brittany mumbles quietly, fiddling with her thumbs.
"Is this about your special plans with Andrew?" I ask hesitantly, my face feeling a bit flushed. These kinds of situations made me feel awkward.
"How did you know?" She exclaims, her face turning red instantly.
"Sophia told me. Don't worry, you'll be fine. I was, even after Seg...I mean whaat..." I stutter, almost slipping up on who my first was. You can't blame me though, and I'm not a puckslut, it just sort of happened. He is friends with my brother, and friends with me too. I'm not going into details, that'd just be embarassing and awkward.
"You and Tyler?! Is that why you kept it so secret?" Brittany blurts out, quite loudly might I add.
"That's exactly why. My brother doesn't even know. I think if he did he would probably be disappointed in both of us and wouldn't look at Tyler or me the same way again." I explain in a very hushed voice. "I can't even believe it happened."
"Your secret is safe with me. As long as you promise not to tell Brandon about Andrew and I." Brittany couldn't have sounded more serious in this moment if she tried.
"Why on Earth would I bring that up to your brother? Whom I have a huge crush on. You should just worry about Andrew spilling the beans. Not me." I warn, knowing how close those two are.
"Right, thanks Chelsea." Brittany says, tucking a loose strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear before walking back to her bedroom and shutting the door lightly.

A few hours later after that awkward conversation with Brittany I find myself lounging on the sofa holding the latest issue of Vogue in front of my face. Honestly, I don't get the whole point of the magazine, but I do like the few random articles in it. I may be twenty-one years old but I still prefer Seventeen Magazine. Right now though, all I had in front of me are the past two months of Vogue and a Sports Illustrated sitting on the coffee table. Patrick was gracing the front of the Sports Illustrated, the Stanley Cup hoisted above his head in all it's glory.
Just as I finish a DIY on how to make your own infinity scarf, I hear a light knock on the apartment door. Groaning, I toss the magazine back on the coffee table, I hoist myself off of the loveseat. I hear the knocking again and I quicken my pace a little bit.
"Impatient people." I mutter under my breath as I reach the door.
When I open the door, a wave of shock and some anxiety flood over me. Taking a deep breath, I manage to force, half force, a great big smile onto my lips. Speak of the Devil and he shall appear. I haven't had to use that quote in a while, but right now it fits perfectly.
"Hey Chels!" Tyler greets, wrapping me up in a bear hug. I return the hug, burying my face in the crook of his neck. Besides the dirty deed(s) we've done in the past, he was just like a brother to me, if that isn't too weird considering our relationship.
"How have you been Tyler?! I haven't seen you since we won in Boston." I tease half-heartedly as we step out of the embrace.
"I've been alright, you look good, how have you been?" He asks, thankfully brushing off my comment about the Stanley Cup Finals.
"Just like you said, I've been good." I reply, biting on the inside of my mouth. "Come on in! I'm the only one home right now, Melanie went off with Sophia somewhere and Brittany's spending the entire weekend with Andrew." I move to the side a little bit, giving him enough room to enter the apartment.
He reaches for something that he must have set down on the table that sits next to the door because he wasn't holding anything when gave me that bear hug.
"Where have my manners been, these are for you." He says, handing me a small bouqet of flowers. "I've missed you."
"Aw thank you! I've missed you too!" I say, taking the flowers from Tyler and leading him towards the kitchen while I try to find a vase in the cabinet under the sink.
Once I find a vase, I fill it with water and put the flowers in it. Placing the vase in the middle of the counter, I turn around to find Tyler snooping through our set of xbox games.
"See any games you like?" I ask, sneaking up behind him, startling him just a bit.
"Well there's Halo, but I don't really know if I want to risk getting beaten by a girl." He laughs, "What movies do you have?"
"Take your pick from that drawer, or we have Netflix." I say, plopping down on the couch and making myself comfortable as Tyler rummages through our small collection of DVD's. I laugh as he gets this frustrated look on his face when he doesn't find anything. Reaching for the Wii remote, I turn on the Wii as well as the TV and open the channel for Netflix. Tyler sits down next to me, casually wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
"Would you be up for a horror movie?" Tyler asks nonchalantly, glancing down to see my expression.
"You read my mind. Paranormal Activity 4 alright with you?" I ask, scrolling through the various movie titles listed under Horror.
"Sure, and if you get scared I'm right here." He teases, gently squeezing me into him to prove his point. I can't help but stifle a laugh, him being here didn't make me feel any less vulnerable than if I were alone watching a horror movie. "What's so funny?" He asks, looking down at me a smirk evident on his lips.
"Nothing, let's just start watching the movie." I chuckle, pressing play and letting the movie start.

3rd Person POV
- - - x - - -
Somewhere around the beginning of the movie it starts to rain outside. It helped create a spookier setting for the movie that Chelsea and Tyler were watching. It also induced an early nap for Chelsea. Chelsea managed to fall asleep somewhere around the middle to end-ish of the movie, all snuggled up in Tyler's arms. Tyler relished in the moment, happy that he could spend they day with a girl he actually has feelings for. Of course, what he doesn't know is, Chelsea is already falling for someone. She won't tell him that though, not unless Tyler tries to pull a move on her.
Tyler and Chelsea are great friends, despite their romantic relationship that appears at the randomest times. If you didn't know any better and you walked into Chelsea's apartment right now you would think it was the perfect couple moment. Knowing Chelsea's true feelings though, you would know differently.
Tyler manages to stay awake til the end of the movie, finally dozing off after the movie ends. He didn't want to wake Chelsea, and a nap sounded like a good idea to him. He quickly turned the TV and Wii off before shutting his eyes and falling asleep. Today couldn't be more perfect for anyone, actually. Sophia and Melanie went out to go dress shopping for no real reason. Andrew and Brittany had a whole romantic weekend planned out. Jonathan was spending some much needed time with his father and brother. As for Brandon, he would be spending some time with his brother George on a guys weekend of his own. Of course, the main topic of discussion with him is all Chelsea.
