Becoming Stronger together

"T-The-They want t-t-to do a h-hear-heart transplant on Christian……" He looked up at the guys with a white face.

They looked at one another speechless not knowing what to say…..

"Patrick....we're here for you guys. You know that." Sharp chokes out.

Kane looks into Christians room and starts crying Jon walks over to him and puts a hand on his shoulder protectively.

"I need to go talk with him. He has somewhat of a say but it'll come down to what's best for him. I'll be right back." Kane said standing up and wiping off his face.

*In Christians room*

"Hey bud. How you feeling?" Patrick asks his brother
Christian looks up at him, "You sound upset what's wrong?"
"Shit. Umm first off how do you feel about being adopted?" He asked to stall
"What? Like you'd be my dad and Gina would be my mom?" Christian asked confused
"Yeah. Like that." He said
"Why? Do I need parental conceit for something? Just tell me what's wrong please." Christian asked
".... They wanna..... Um. They want to have you have a... A uh heart transplant...." Kane said choking up.

The rest of the team walked in after Patrick told him. Christian looked up and then turned to his side and puked blood. Jon got him his doctor and they saw that his heart rate was slowing down. They were all asked to leave the room aside from Kane.

*30 minutes later*

Christians doctor ran around 10 different tests until his doctor finally figured out what was causing him to puke and get drowsy and pass out.

"Well the good new is that we are able to help with the puking, passing out and drowsiness" said his doctor, "you have type 1 diabetes. It's not easy to manage by any means, and you'll probably get sick of it but as long as you're being fed insulin 24/7 then you'll be fine. You also are going to have to start watching what you eat, so if you have an "off day" you can go through what you ate and figure out what caused it." The doctor said
"Wait so this whole time he's been diabetic and living without insulin and isn't dead. How does that work?" Kane asked
"We've yet to figure that out. It could be the sugar he just puts in his system but I don't know. Now the bad news is that we want you to have a heart transplant. You aren't going to want it, but it's the only way to 120% know that you won't have any heart problems continue. The surgery is very risky but we can have the best surgeon here to do it." the doctor stated
"I ain't doin the heart transplant." Christian said
"Yes you are Christian. I know you don't want to, but do you want to keep ending up where you are right now?" Kane said
The doctor butted in, "I'll leave to let you two talk this out."

The team saw the doctor leave the room and figured it was good to go in. They realized it wasn't when they walked into Christian and Patrick fighting.

"I ain't Gettin the stupid surgery. Did you know there's a chance I'll die? Or even if I do get the surgery, round 8 years later I'll most likely end up dead from the surgery. Your body tries to reject it and it's going to be living hell for me to go through. I am not gettin it done." Christian said
"You won't die. And the chances of you dying after having it done are less likely because you're younger and have a stronger immune system." Kane argued
"Hey kid" Jon said as he walked over, "Um I know you don't want the surgery because it's scary, but you need it. Your doctor even said if you don't you could be dead in a few years. And your brothers right, you have a strong immune system. You'll be fine."
"Strong immune system my ass. I'm diabetic and have a heart condition." Christian said
"You're diabetic?" Jon asked confused
"You know what. I really just want to sleep right now. I'm not feelin good. Can y'all please just let me sleep?" Christian asked.

Patrick and the guys noticed that his face was getting really pale and he looked sweaty. Shawzy was sent to get his doctor and the guys stayed with him. His heart was racing and you could see the pain he was in, and randomly it went from 200 BPM to 40 BPM. Christian asked all the guys to leave but they didn't until the doctor came into the room. The doctor got him setup on an insulin pump and gave him some food that would help bring his levels up. He then fell asleep after and the doctor went up to Patrick and asked to talk to him.

"Is he okay?" Patrick asked
"That's what diabetes does when he has low levels. His heart racing and then going down that much isn't healthy for him at all. I'll talk with him when he's up about him getting the surgery. I'm stepping in because he's so against it. Plus it'll give him time to learn how to manage his diabetes." The doctor told him

Patrick was thankful and shook the doctors hand then went back to the guys and fell asleep.
