Captain Clutch

Both cars got to the club around the same time. I was a little worried about getting in being only 19 and living in the United States. If we were in my hometown I would have been legally allowed to drink at the age of 18. Luckily I'm not a big drinker.
I hadn't really been paying attention in the car to which club they had chosen and it didn't hit me until we got out of the car where we were. I had been here so many times before. I tried not to panic, but I knew if he was here it wouldn't go over well.
"Kay. Kay! Kayla?" I heard my name snapping me out of the small trance I was in.
"Yes." I said turning around to where the guys had gathered getting ready to go into the club.
"Are you okay?" James asked me looking kind of concerned about me.
"Yeah." I said taking a deep breath. "I know the owner of the club and his son."
Everyone was silent for a couple minutes and a couple of them shifted uncomfortably. I raised my eyebrow suddenly finding my confidence.
"Are we going in or are we going to stand here all night?" I said turning and walking toward the side entrance. I knew I could get us in without waiting in the long lineup that undoubtably went far down the front of the building.
"Kay, the entrance is over there." Jordan said pointing to where a couple bouncers were standing around talking not letting anyone in.
"I know that, but if you guys want to get in tonight lets take my way." I said winking at Jordan. We walked up to a bouncer standing in front of a metal door.
"Kayla, how are you?" A tall overly muscular man said to me as I came to a stop in front of him. I smiled and gave him a quick hug.
"I'm wonderful. How are you?" I asked. I had known the people working here for the good part of 9 years. I grew up around them. I always had a soft spot for Drew and I knew he had a soft spot for me as well.
"I'm good. We miss having you around." Drew said. "V.I.P tonight?"
I nodded and smiled. He pulled out a bunch of wrist bands out of his pocket. I extended my arm and let him put the band around my arm. He put wrist bands on all the guys arms as well.
"By the way this is some of the Penguins team, they play with my brother." I said. He nodded in approval at the company I had with me.
"Have fun." He said mostly to me as he opened the door and we all walked in one by one. I led the guys through another doorway and into the club.
"I get table." Malkin said loudly leaning in for us all to hear. I shook my head.
"No need. We have a table in V.I.P" I said pointing toward the V.I.P section. The boys looked at me like I was some sort of goddess or something. I shook my head and walked toward the V.I.P section. After a couple seconds they followed. Once we got to our table I looked around nervously. No sight of him. I needed to calm down. A drink would help.
"I'm getting a drink." I announced sliding out of the booth.
"I drink too." Malkin said getting up as well. The rest of the guys wanted to stay at the table. Together Malkin and I walked toward the bar. It was empty by the bar so we got served right away.
"Kayla how are you?" The bartender asked giving Malkin a quick glance. I smiled seeing my favourite bar tender.
"Toby! I'm great. This is my friend and brothers teammate Evgeni Malkin." I said knowing he knew the whole team and loved them.
"Hey man, I'm Toby." He said a huge smile on his face.
"I Geno." Malkin said in his thick Russian accent. I couldn't get over how cute his broken English was.
"What can I get you guys?" Toby said cleaning a spot on the bar with his dirty bar rag.
"I'll have my usual, Sour Grape Martini and two shots of vodka." I say looking over at Malkin. "Get what you want my treat."
"I won't hear of it." I hear the voice of a man behind me. I turn around.
"Ed." I say closing the gap between myself and the owner of the club. "How are you?"
"Good, and you dear?" Ed asked.
"I'm good. I miss all of you." I said hugging Ed.
"Then you should come around more often." He said raising an eyebrow at me.
"I know Eddie." I say shaking my head a little. "By the way this is Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins."
"Nice to meet you Evgeni." Ed says extending his hand to Malkin. "I own the club, anything you order tonight is free."
"Thanks. This favourite club in Pittsburgh." Malkin said after shaking Ed's hand.
"We came with some others." I said turning toward the booth where the rest of the guys were sitting talking.
"No problem, its on me." Ed said with a smile.
"Thank you Eddie, you're the best." I said giving him a hug and a little peck on the cheek.
"You're welcome. Anyways I have business to attend to, have a wonderful night Kayla and please don't be a stranger." Ed said. With that he walked away.
"How you know him?" Malkin asked looking at me curiously.
"An old friend." I said not wanting to get into it. I knew it would come out eventually, but I just wasn't ready at this point.
I hadn't noticed Toby had walked away until he came back with my martini and shots. I took a deep breath and did one of the shots, bitting down on a lemon wedge to combat the taste of the vodka. I looked at Toby.
"I can't believe you remembered that my favourite vodka." I said a little shocked.
"Absolut and Polar Ice. The only ones you will drink." Toby said.
"Yeah that's all." I smiled. "Get a drink Malkin."
"Rocks vodka." Malkin said.
"Vodka on the rocks?" Toby asked.
Malkin shook his head yes. Toby made Malkin's drink as I took my second shot. After Malkin got his drink I held my martini up for a toast. Malkin held his drink up as well.
"To the Penguins, and many more wins." I said smiling.
"More club night too." Malkin said.
"Yes more of these nights." I smiled and we touched glasses before taking a drink.
So far this night hasn't been to bad, but I knew it was only getting started, and I already felt a little bit of a buzz coming on. Who knew what was still to come the night was just getting started.

So sorry this chapter took so long for me to write. I got a bit of writers block about half way through and then I wasn't home for a couple days so I couldn't write, but I promise I will have another chapter up by the end of the night to make up for my lack of chapters in the past couple days!
