Summer came along quicker than usual for Stacey. She had spent the rest of Winter and Spring preparing for the wedding. They had to wait until season was over to have it.
Stacey looked in the mirror at herself. She was in a long white gown, with a red bow around the middle and lacey ruffles throughout the train. Her hair curled and pinned up and her make-up done. She smiled at her reflection. Today was her wedding day. In less than an hour she’d be walking down the aisle and would become Mrs. Tyler Seguin. Stacey Seguin. She liked the sound of it.
“You look so beautiful, Stacey.” Sammie said handing her the bouquet of roses and daises. Sammie was Stacey’s Maid of Honor and had done a great job of it. She had helped with the planning and the mailing of invitations. Sammie hugged Stacey “Are you ready?”
Stacey nodded “I sure am.”
Sammie smiled and headed down to the auditorium just as soon as Cannon in D began to play. She smiled as she linked arms with Patrick Kane, Tyler’s Best Man. Jade followed with Adam and Stacey’s cousin Jenna with Tyler’s friend Collin from Canada.
Stacey’s father was waiting for her. He smiled at her and kissed her cheek “You are so beautiful, honey.”
Stacey fought back tears as she smiled “Thanks, dad.”
Her father fought back tears of his own as the traditional “Here Comes the Bride” began to play. Stacey smiled as her father lead her down the aisle. Stacey looked up at Tyler and he smiled, mouthing “You look amazing!” to her as she came closer.
When they reached the alter, Stacey grabbed onto Tyler’s hand as the minister began. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Stacey Faith Summers and Tyler Paul Seguin in holy matrimony.“ After the minister gave a small message, they exchanged their vows and their rings.
Stacey felt her heart race as he slid the ring onto her finger and the minister continued “Do you, Stacey, take Tyler to be your lawfully wedded husband through sickness and health until death do you part?”
“I do.” Stacey replied, squeezing Tyler’s hand.
“And do you, Tyler, take Stacey to be your lawfully wedded wife through sickness and health until death do you part?”
Tyler smiled “I do.”
“Then by the power vested in me by the state of Massachusetts, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.”
Tyler smiled and kissed Stacey softly on the lips mouthing “I love you.”
Stacey smiled “I love you.”
The minister smiled as he proclaimed “Let me be the first to introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Seguin!” The Wedding March began to play as they headed off down the aisle followed by claps and whistles.
Once they got to the foyer, Stacey hugged him and kissed him. Tyler smiled “I love you, Mrs. Seguin.”
Stacey laughed “I love you, Mr. Seguin.”
Tyler smiled and hugged her once more. Soon enough, they would be heading off to Hawaii for their honey moon. Stacey looked at him and smiled. In about a year, she met Tyler, fell in love, moved in with him, moved out, got a house, got engaged and got married.
She never thought that she’d ever feel this way, but she did and she was happy. She was happy that she had decided to go to a Bruins practice that one day which seemed like centuries ago. She was happy she had accepted his request on Facebook. But, most of all, Stacey was happy that she was beginning a new life with her one true love.
