If We've Got No Place To Go..

Don't You Think That It's Boring How People Talk

Jordan's POV
It's been three days since the two I spent with Tyler. We haven't talked since. It's not necessarily his fault, I've been busy doing big press pushes with their upcoming road stand. The point of releasing or getting ready to release pieces is to keep the fans interested while their team is away. I'm one of the youngest on the press team. Which translates to me, with papers spread out all over the floor, on the floor with my laptop. Apparently they didn't count how many desks they would need. I've only left a couple times to get a change of clothes and once to grab some coffee because the idiot who went on a coffee run forgot mine.

I am still up in the press box, with no coffee, working on pieces to release throughout the upcoming week. I hear laughter coming from the hallway leading to the hell hole. Then I see Jamie and Tyler come strolling through the doors. I try to make myself invisible, not wanting them to notice me. They walk over to my boss and talk for a few minutes. I try to look busy typing out a report. I see a pair of brown Doc Martens standing at the border of my paper circle. "Yes?" I say without looking up, already knowing my visitor. "Get up." Tyler said. "Why?" I asked, finally looking up. "Just come on." He replied. "Why do I need to 'come on'?" Instead of answering, I felt two different arms on either side of me loop their arms through mine and hauled me to my feet. On one side of me, Jamie was there smiling like a goofball; and on the other was Brenden Dillion looking highly amused. "Do I need my brute squad to carry you all the way or will you just trust me?" Tyler smirked. "Fine, I give up. Tell your goons to put me down." I sighed. He laughed and said, "Alright boys, let's go." They set me on my feet and Tyler led me all the way out of the AAC. We were in the parking lot and Jamie took us to his truck. I climbed into the passenger seat with Jamie next to me, Tyler and Brenden in the back seat.

Jamie took us to this really nice steakhouse. I looked down at my current wardrobe: an oversized sweatshirt and leggings with socks and my Gongshow shower shoes. "Um, you boys look like you belong here. I don't exactly...fit criteria." Tyler had my door open and was waiting for me, "You'll be fine." "Come on, slow pokes!" Brenden hollered. I rolled my eyes but got out.

We were seated and our drink order was taken when I asked, "Why did you guys bring me here?" Jamie smiled. "Ask loverboy over here," and jerked his thumb in the direction of Tyler. "Oof," Jamie grunted and glared at Brenden. Tyler's cheeks were red. "Well, we just thought that...you might like to be out..away from work." I smiled, "Thanks. I'm starving for food that is not from McDonalds or Arby's." "That's what we thought." Tyler grinned at me.

The food had been amazing, we finally got over that awkward little incident at the beginning and talked for forever. We unfortunately were back at the AAC. We all unloaded out of Jamie's truck. "I'll walk you up." Tyler said. The whole time at lunch I had been trying not to read too much into what Jamie had called Tyler. What does "loverboy" mean, anyway? We walked up to the press box in light chatter. The door was closed and before I could just say "Thanks" and get back to work, Tyler grabbed my arm and pulled me in to where he was lightly breathing on my neck. "Don't be a stranger," he said and slipped a piece of paper into my hand. He gently pressed his lips to my neck and then walked off.
