If We've Got No Place To Go..
Flaws
I got the job done and not being any less angry, got a case of beer and went to my apartment. I drank almost the whole case before I crashed. This morning, I am regretting those last few. I am also regretting that hungry blonde receptionist..I think it was Candi? And I'm also regretting what happened with Jordan. We have a home game tomorrow and luckily, an optional skate this morning. So maybe I can figure out how to patch things up with Jordan. My phone lights up with a text from Bennie: HEY MAN, YOU ALIVE? NO I reply. WANNA MEET ME AND THE GUYS FOR SOME BWW? Bennie knows I can't resist Buffalo Wild Wings. YEP I say, unsure of my vision, or lack there of, this a.m. BE THERE AT NOON He says. I check the time, I have an hour and a half to shower and go.
An hour later, I'm as clean as I'll get and walking out the door. I get to my truck and the engine roars to life. I crane my neck from one side to the other, trying to get it relaxed, and pull out on to a mildly busy Dallas street.
I park next to Bennie's truck and head in. It couldn't be anymore obvious which table was ours. You could hear Bennie's and Dillion's laughter the second you walk in. I smile at the hostess and head to the table. I see a familiar looking pile of dark brown hair on the other side of Erik Cole. Bennie sees me and shouts "It's alive!" I grin, "Shut up Jamie." Then the pile of hair moves and Jordan is looking at me, wide eyed. I avert my eyes, my cheeks turning furiously red. I feel like if she looks at me too long, she'll see right through me to what I did last night. I sit down at the other side of the table, with Jordan a few seats down, next to Brenden Dillion.
Jordan's POV
WTF. If I had known Seguin was going to be here, I wouldn't have excepted Bennie's invite. Jamie knows what happened last night, too. For some reason, right after Tyler left I called Jamie. The second he got to my place, I broke down. I cried until my eyes were red and swollen. I also fell asleep. Luckily, Jamie was a perfect gentleman and carried me to my bed; and I found him on my couch the next morning. "That couch is starting to get a reputation." I had joked.
Jamie had gone home, changed, and was back at my place to persuade me to come to lunch with him and some of the guys. I gave in and had went. Tyler and I had only made eye contact once, and for the rest of lunch, we avoided each other.
Jamie says, "I'm ready to go. You done, Jordan?" I smile softly. "Yeah, let's go." I grab my purse and head out with Jamie. The second we're in his truck, I smack his arm as hard as I can. "OW! What?!" He yells. "You invited Seguin, you asshole." He started the truck and pulled out of the parking lot. "One, I am not an asshole. Two, I did invite Tyler." I roll my eyes. "That makes you an asshole in my book." "Well, I can't just not invite him because you like Seggy and just won't admit it." "Fine," I pout.
Jamie drops me off at my place and I head inside. As I cross the lobby, I hear the slut of a receptionist Candi, say to her friend that also works at the building and a fellow slut. "Yeah, I slept with some hockey player last night. He was so agressive, I think he was pissed at someone.." I didn't stick around to hear the rest and fled up to my apartment.
ooooo kill em. update!
