The Captains

Wedding

The season had ended for the Blackhawks and Penguins. Jon had gotten out of his slump and was being himself again, thankfully. About a week after we got back from Phoenix, Jon asked me if I wanted to move in together. I thought about for a few days, and then I agreed. Jon and I decided to find a completely different apartment instead of staying in either of ours. Patrick and Cassie would be moving into a house soon, so it wasn't really necessary to stay in the same place. The only thing holding us back was our rooftop. We finally found something though. It was a loft near Ohio Street and had a balcony overlooking the Chicago River. It was on the very top floor (25th) and he had a pretty good sized Terrace. It had two bedrooms and the one we chose for ourselves had floor to wall windows on two walls of the room. Instead of using a bed-frame, we just put our mattress in the corner with the windows. It also had a walk-in closet with two sides, one for me and one for Jon. The bathroom also had two separate sides, each with our own sink, cabinets, and toilets. We only had one shower and one tub though, but I didn't mind that. Since we had two empty bed-frames, we put both of them in the guest-bedroom. Cassie also gave us her mattress because she and Patrick would just be sharing one. We put both the beds in there and some of our old furniture. The rest of the furniture we didn't need we put into storage, just in case we needed it someday. Since then, things have been going pretty well. Jon and I have spent our days lounging, helping with the wedding, and walking around Chicago. It was now about 3 days before the wedding and all the final preparations were being made. It was going to be on a private beach area on Lake Michigan with Cassie and Patrick's close family and friends. Her sister and I were the bridesmaids and Jon and Cassie's brother were the groomsmen. My dress was a very pale blue and Greek goddess style. Cassie's was also a goddess style, but white and more elegant. We were all going to be barefoot since it was on a beach. The reception would be in a small event venue not far from the beach area. Today was the final fitting for the dresses and Cassie was pretty nervous. We had two days before the wedding and the baby had gotten a lot bigger lately. The three of us arrived at the bridal store and were given our dresses. Cassie's sister and I went out first and waited for Cassie to come out. The door to her room opened and the consultant led her out. The dress fit perfectly. They added a different fabric to the back so it could stretch out, just in case. They then added her custom veil that she and Patrick put together. It went around her head like a headband with light colored flowers and then a long piece of tulle hung from the back of it. Everything fit perfectly on everyone thankfully. We all paid for our dresses, got our accessories and then left. Cassie and I went over to her new house afterwards to sort out all the gifts she got from the baby/wedding shower last week. We had already put all the baby stuff in the nursery but had yet to unpack it. They had painted the room and pale purple with dark brown furniture. All of the blankets and bags and other accessories were light green. Cassie and I got to work on unpacking all of the diapers, toys, clothes, bottles and every other fucking thing just one baby needed. Patrick came home when we were nearing the end and helped me pick up all the trash and bring it outside to the boxes. When we came back inside, we found Cassie on the couch with a huge slice of leftover cake from the shower. I laughed, stayed for a little longer with them, then left. On the way home, I stopped by a mall that had a Target in it to get a few things that Jon and I needed. On the way to the Target from the parking deck, I noticed a Victoria's Secret. I got an idea. Jon and I would be going on our own vacation after the wedding to a private island in the Caribbean. I went inside and went to the back room where all of the Angel collection was. I picked out a very pretty light blue push up bra that had black lace and ribbon. I also got the matching underwear to go with it and a few other little outfits and swim suits for it. I paid and then got on my way to Target and finally home. I found Jon on the the couch drinking a protein shake and talking into his phone in French. I loved it when he spoke French. I put the few groceries I got away and hid the Victoria's Secret bag from him in our room. I came back out and layed on the couch with my head on his leg while he finished the call.
"How was the fitting?" he asked me when he set down his phone.
"Pretty good. Cassie's thankfully fit." I said
"Well that's good. What else did you do?" he said
"Got lunch, got all the baby shower gifts unpacked, and then a few things for our trip." I said
"What all did you get for it?" he asked
"Sunscreen, travel toiletries, new flip flops, nothing much." I said
"Alright." he said
"Did you pick up the jerseys?" i asked
"yeah. Can you wrap them though?" he asked.
"Will you help me?" i said in response
"Sure." he said. Their wedding gift from us would be Blackhawk jerseys with Kane on the back. Patrick's number being 1 with a C, Cassie's with a 2 and an A, and Scarlette's with a 3. We were getting them in red and white. Jon got the box and I went to the closet where all of my wrapping stuff was. I got a three white, square boxes, each one smaller than the last, silver paper and black ribbon. I folded all of the jerseys and put Patrick's into the biggest box, Cassie's into the middle one, and Scarlette's into the smaller one. I let Jon cut the ribbon while I wrapped all three of the boxes. We wrapped the ribbon around each box and then lined all three of them up with each other. I added a black bow on top and then a tag. Jon and I looked at the finished product and high-fived. We spent the rest of the evening eating and watching TV.

The Wedding

Today was the day of the wedding. Cassie, her sister, and I spent the night at a hotel and the boys did at Jon and I's apartment. We had gotten up at 5:30 to start getting ready. Let me tell you, getting a pregnant Cassie ready for her wedding was not on the top of my list of fun things. Her sister and I did everything to keep her calm. It was too bad she couldn't drink. We had a team of makeup artists, hair stylists, and manicurists to come and do everything. When we were all finally ready and it was time to leave, we did. We made the 30 minute drive from downtown to the private area and got out. I met up with Jon and Cassie's sister did with her brother. The flower girl and ring bearer went down first. Then Cassie's brother and sister, then Jon and I. We walked down the aisle and took our spots. Then, it was Cassie's turn. As all eyes went to here, mine went to Patrick's for a quick second. He had the biggest, happiest smile I had ever seen on him. His face then changed, turned red and a tear or two fell down. He wiped his eyes and kept his smile. I then looked at Cassie, who was also crying. Her dad got her to Patrick and they turned around to the officiant. The ceremony went as planned, their vows making many tears fall, the rings, and finally the kiss. Patrick dipped her back and kissed her and the crows cheered and laughed. They came back up and walked back up the aisle and into the limo. Everyone else then followed to the reception. The sun was setting and they did all of the traditional dances and reception activities. When it was time for the bouquet toss, I gathered with a few of our friends and Patrick's sisters. Cassie threw it back and it came right to me. I jumped up and got it then broke away from the crowd so no one would take it from my hands. I laughed and smiled and waved it the air for everyone. When the whole thing was finally over and Patrick and Cassie left, Jon and I did too. We got to his big SUV and I got in the back seat and changed out of my dress and into a t-shirt, Nike shorts, and Chacos while Jon drove to the airport. When we got there, Jon changed and then we got our bags from the back and checked in, went through security and finally to our gate. We got on the plane and landed in Jamaica then took a boat to our private island that would be ours for the next week.

@Sidster87
I am so thankful you pointed this out. There's a chapter here that isn't showing up when I click on it, even though I uploaded it. Something happened in that chapter where Chelsea ends up in the hospital. Ill rewrite it and get everything worked out. Once again, thanks so much for saying something.

I'm a little confused. Reading the last chapter Jon was saying when she was in the hospital. I don't remember her going to the hospital. I read all the chapter twice. Am I missing something? I love the story, but I am confused.
