scares me to death when she thinks and drives,
That night, Jordan Staal stayed over. No questions were asked, it was just assumed that because Mason had finally admitted her dark secret, they were officially together. Neither had to ask the other to stay, because they both knew what the other wanted.
So there he was, lying in bed with Mason O’Rear’s back to his bare chest, his arm flung carelessly over her tiny waist. Jordan was taking deep breaths, eyes closed, hoping to fall asleep, but it wouldn’t seem to come. He swallowed and thought about the next couple of months he had to spend with the girl in his arms. He needed to show her what it was like to actually enjoy the time she was given.
Mason’s breath had slowed down a considerable amount since she laid down. She had fallen asleep. He pressed his lips to the back of her neck and slowly rolled to the opposite side of the bed. His feet hit the hardwood floor and he walked to the kitchen counter. After searching for about a minute, he went and sat on a bar stool with a newly acquired pen and sheet of paper.
Starting the list was harder than he first imagined. He had so many ideas but they jumbled up in his mind and didn’t come out onto the paper correctly.
Jordan sat there scribbling, until almost two in the morning before he had a list worth keeping. He looked over it one more time and added one last thing before going back, and laying under the sheets with the girl he cared about.
17. Make her see what love can be.
