Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby) 012:

Chapter Twelve

“You all right?” he asked as he helped me put my skates on.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in skates,” I said and he laughed and laced them up for me.

Sidney had propped me up on a counter after I had taken my boots off; he got me skates that were my size and then helped me put them on, “How did you know what size I was?”

“I asked Tyler to ask Allie who found and told Tyler who told me,” he explained and I laughed.

“That explains why Allie picked up my leg and took my shoe off the other day,” I said and Sidney looked at me.

“That tight enough?” he asked and I nodded my head and he worked on the next foot, “Yeah, not to subtle of her I guess,” he laughed and I nodded my head.

“Nope.”

“All right, here we go,” he said and I saw that both skates were on, “Just hope down.”

I nodded my head and he held onto my arms as I carefully stepped down and almost fell because I wasn’t use to balancing myself on that little thin skate.

“Already falling and we haven’t even made it to the ice yet,” he teased and I gulped.

“I told you it’s been a long time!” I said and he laughed.

Sidney stood in front of me and helped me walk towards the bench where he was going to put his skates on. I watched as he laced up both of his skates and pulled his jeans over them while I look down to see that my jeans were tucking into the skates.

“You ready?” he asked and I looked out onto the ice, “I won’t let you fall… Much.”

“Gee thanks,” I said and he laughed and held out his hand. I took it and then smiled towards him.

I liked the way that my hand fit with his; it was a different feeling that I had when I was with Kyle. I slowly stood up, wobbling a little, Sidney opened the little door that let us go onto the ice and then stepped out. I stood on the edge and he held onto both of my hands. Took one step out onto the ice, not even both of my skates were on the ice, and I practically did a split. Sidney laughed as he grabbed my waist and helped me back up.

“You ever roller skate, it’s just like that,” he said and I snorted.

“You mean roller blade, skating has four wheels in each corner of the skate, a blade is well a blade,” I said and Sidney shook his head.

“Come on,” he said and I nodded my head and put both of my skates on the ice, “Relax, you’re so tense.”

I tried to relax, but it was a little hard to do when you were at fear of falling. Once we made it around the rink twice, I was starting to get the hang of it and didn’t have to hold onto him. Sidney had skated over towards the bench that we walked out of and held up a stereo and started to play some music. I laughed and slowly skated over towards him to look at his music selection. I found the Black Keys and put it on and then looked over towards Sidney to see that he had a smirk on his face.

“Nice choice.”

“Thank you,” I said and he took my hand and we skated around side by side enjoying ourselves.

After having fun and talking, Sidney skated over towards the other bench and leaned over to grab something. I saw him pull up a blanket and then a picnic basket.

‘…Aww, that’s so cute…’

He skated over to me and then laid down the blanket in the middle of the ice and we both had a seat, I was smiling ear to ear and watching as he took out fruits, cheese, crackers and wine.

“I figured we would get hungry,” he said and I smiled and moved closer towards him.

“Thank you,” I said and bit my lip trying not to cry because this was the nicest thing a guy has ever done for me, even Kyle was never this romantic.

“Wine?” he asked as he held up the bottle.

“Um, I’ve never really had it before,” I said.

“Do you want to try it?”

“Sure,” I said and he smiled.

I saw that he had lain out strawberries, grapes and blueberries. I reached for a grape and popped it into my mouth as Sidney poured us some wine. He handed me a glass with only a little in it and watched as I took a sip and then laughed when he saw the reaction on my face, disgusting.

“Yum,” I said and trying not to gag as I forced the wine down and Sidney took my glass away.

“It’s all right, I came prepared!” he said and then pulled out to beer bottles, “Don’t tell me you’ve never had beer before?”

I shrugged my shoulders and he opened a bottle. I tried it, and it wasn’t that, I actually liked it, “It’s a keeper.”

“A beer girl, all right,” he said and I smiled, “Good because if that didn’t work, all I had left was water.”

I laughed and then kissed his cheek, “This is nice just as you have it, thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” he said and we stared at each other for what seemed like forever.

When I saw his face coming closer, I panicked and grabbed a berry and held it up, “Strawberry?” he smirked and then took it out of my hands and then bit into it, “So, how did you come up with this?”

“Ok, I admit I had a little help,” he said and I laughed.

“I still like it, it’s cute,” I said and he moved closer towards me.

“Well thank you,” he said and I nodded my head. We decided to play twenty questions of just simple questions like, favorite food, color, animal, car, person, those kinds of things.

-Sidney-

Julie was definitely a secretive person, but I think that I was getting to her. She was becoming more open with me and that made me happy. I saw that she finished off her beer and I took the empty bottle and threw it into the basket. I laughed when she said that her butt was cold and she looked to see that she was sitting on the ice instead of the blanket.

We finished the food and I cleaned everything up and threw it by the bench and skated back to Julie and helped her stand up and we both worked together to fold the blanket. After that I threw that with the basket too and saw that she was going to skate over towards me, but she slipped and fell onto her back, I skated over towards her and saw that she was laughing, which was a good sign.

“That totally hurt my butt!” I got on my knees and leaned over her and made sure that she was all right, “Yeah I’m fine,” she laughed and I stared at her.

‘…She’s so beautiful…’ I thought as I moved my hand to her neck and then slowly inched down. When are lips were barely touching I stared into her eyes for any sign for me to stop, I didn’t, instead she finished that gap and then felt her hand on my arm and the other hand on my chest. When we broke apart I looked at her and smiled and leaned my forehead against hers. She smiled at me and then I stood up and then grabbed her hands and helped her up and she stood in front of me.

“Let’s get out of here,” I said and she nodded her head and I held out my hand. She took it and I smiled as we skated over towards the bench where we could collect out shoes and stuff.

I sat her on the bench and then took my skates off and put my sneakers back on and then helped her back up and walked her over towards the on counter where her boots were. She was definitely shorter, and smaller, than me, so I placed my hands on her waist and propped her onto the counter and unlaced her skates and took them off. When I stood back up she was smiling towards me and I laughed.

“What?”

“Nothing,” she said and I stood up and stood in front of her legs.

I saw her staring at my lips and then she leaned down and placed her hands on my neck and she pressed her lips to mine. Her legs opened and I took a step forward and stood in-between her legs and had my hands on her waist. She pulled back and started at me with a smile on her face.

“I really like you, Julie,” I said and then saw her nod her head.

“I really like you too, Sidney.”

I smiled and then helped her down from the counter and handed her, her boots. She put them on and then I went back to grab the basket and blanket.

-Julie-

‘…What are you doing, Julie?! You’re going to get him tangled in your baggage! He’s so sweet and you’re going to ruin his life with your problems!...’ I thought as I watched as Sidney walked away and I heard clicking again, I turned my head to see a flash at the end of the aisle and walked down it.

“Julie?” I heard Sidney ask and I turned the corner to see that no one was there.

‘…Am I just that paranoid?...’

“You all right?” Sidney asked while walking up to me.

“Yeah, I thought I saw someone.”

“Shouldn’t be anyone here, the place is locked down,” he said and I nodded my head.

‘…Definitely paranoid…’
