Chapter Fourteen

“Hey little man!” Geno yelled as he saw Josh walk into the room with Allie and Conner walking in.

“Geno!” he yelled and I smirked and looked back over towards Julie to see that she was carving the logo out into the middle of the cake on the fondant.

“Mommy!” Josh yelled and ran over towards her. I grabbed him before he could hug his mom and mess up on her work.

“Give me one second sweetie,” Julie said and I saw Josh nod his head.

“All right!” Julie said and then smiled and put the carver down and bent down to hug her son, “How was school?”

“Good, Conner got in trouble!” he said and I smirked and looked over to see that Conner was in the corner of the kitchen looking towards the wall, “So Aunt Allie put him in timeout!”

“Oh, well that’s not good. Sorry I couldn’t pick you up, Josh. Mommy’s working on a cake for the boys,” she said and then looked up towards me.

“Really? Can I see?” he asked and she nodded her head and then picked up her son and showed him what the cake looks like so far, “WOW!!! That’s cool, Mommy!”

“Thank you,” she said and then put Josh down and he smiled towards me, “Josh, why don’t you go see the rest of the guys.”

“All right,” he said and then he ran past me heading over towards the guys.

I stood up and walked over towards her and wrapped my arms around her waist and laid my chin on her shoulder. I felt her finch at my touch, but automatically calm down when she saw me, “It looks really good. What made you get into this?”

“Mildred asked me for help and I gave it,” she said and I was surprised.

“You didn’t go to school for it?”

“Nope, Milly taught me everything,” she said and I kissed her shoulder and smiled.

“I’m impressed, and how long have you been here?”

“Almost three months,” she said and I looked at her face to see that she was thinking about something else.

‘…What happened to you, Julie?...’

I saw that Julie then finished carving the logo into the fondant, and now she was getting the gel icing and was going to trace over the indents and create the logo. I kissed her cheek and then headed back over towards the guys because I was going to leave Julie alone and let her do her thing. The phone rang and Allie answered it and walked into the office.

I had just finished the logo and were carving the numbers of the teammates into the fondant carefully choosing where to put each number. The guys all came over and looked at it and smiled at my work. The bell rang saying that there was customer in the shop.

“I swear if that’s more players, I’m going to kill you, Tyler!” Allie growled and then walked out of the kitchen hearing the guys laugh.

As I finished the cake, I walked over and got the box set up that the cake was going to be in, and carefully placed the cake into the box. I then picked the cake up and walked into the walk-in fridge and placed the cake on an open row, marking what it was.

I walked out of the fridge and then over towards the guys to see that they were looking out the door to see what was going on. I stuck my head out, moving some of the guys out of the way, to see that some lady wearing a fancy dress was looking at some of the antiques. Allie had to call Mildred down, because usually the two of us just handled the bakery side of the business.

“Snotty bitch,” Allie muttered as she pushed the guys out of the way and walked back into the kitchen.

I didn’t ask what happened, wasn’t my business, but that didn’t stop the guys from asking. I shook my head and then walked into the office to feel someone behind me. I saw Sidney there and smiled towards him and leaned on the desk. He placed his hands on my waist and stood in front of me and the pressed his lips onto mine.

“You know what I just realized?” he asked and I shook my head, “I never asked if you would be my girlfriend.”

‘…Shit…’ I thought and then looked at the ground.

“So Julie,” I looked up towards him. My brain was saying no, don’t drag him into this, but my heart really wanted him, “Will you be mine?”

‘…Don’t do it! Save him right now!...’

“Yes,” I said and Sidney smiled and then pressed his lips onto mine and I wrapped my arms around his neck, ‘…You screwed him…’

“Julie! Come on! I have an order!” I heard Allie yell from the kitchen and I looked up towards Sidney and kissed his cheek.

“I have to go back to work.”

“All right,” he said and then kissed my shoulder.

I walked out of the office and then walked over towards Allie to see that she was writing down ingredients, “What do we have to make?”

“Cookies that look like hockey pucks,” Allie said and I looked at her.

“What the hell is up with at this hockey themed stuff?” I asked and heard the guys laugh.

“Because you’re in a hockey city and it’s hockey season,” Sidney said as he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Great,” I teased.

“Hey! We take offense to that!” Geno yelled and I snorted and shook my head.

“Anyways, the lady’s coming down tomorrow morning, she wants us to have a few things lain out for her to try and look at,” Allie said as she leaned against the counter and looked at me.

“Who is she?”

“Some rich lady who has a son who plays hockey or likes hockey or something- I don’t know or care, but she wants these things to look like pucks so,” Allie looked over towards the guys, “Any of you happen to have a puck on you?”

“Random question,” I said and Sidney laughed, “Do you?”

“Left my bag at home.”

“Oh.”

“I do!” Josh yelled and then ran out of the kitchen only to return a few minutes later with a puck in hand that was given to him when meeting the guys for the first time at their game.

“All right Josh! Thank you!” Allie said and then ruffed his hair.

“Take good care of it!” he ordered and I smiled.

“I will sweetie, thank you,” she said and then looked at the guys, “Bunch of useless jocks!”

“Hey! You could have called me before I came over!” Tyler laughed.

“One, you came over last night!” Allie said and the guys laughed and patted his back and I shook my head, “And two, I just found out about this order!”

“My bad,” he said.

“That’s what I thought.”

“She’s kind of scary,” Sidney whispered into my ear.

“You learn to love her,” I said and he laughed.

“Wow, look at everyone in here!” I looked over and saw Mildred walking into the room and Josh ran over towards her and hugged her, “Conner, why are you in the corner?”

“Oh my god! Conner, I’m so sorry, I forgot all about you!” Allie said and I laughed because he was standing in timeout for over two hours.

“So I can move?”

“Yes sweetie, I’m sorry!” Allie said and Conner ran over towards the guys, “I feel so bad, I forgot about him.”

“It’s all right, Allie, to be honest, I did too,” I said and we shook our heads.

“Oh Julie, you got a package in the mail,” Mildred said and I looked at her confused.

“What?”

“Yeah, did you ordering, darling’?” she asked and I shook my head, “Oh, wonder what it could be.”

I took the package and then looked at it. It was a small box, about the size of a tissue box. I stared at it confused not knowing what it was and then started to tear off the box wrapping paper to see what was inside.
