Chapter Twenty One

"What do you mean she's gone?" Marc asked over the phone and I sighed.

"I woke up and she and her sister were gone! All of their things are gone!" I yelled and then I heard Marc talking in French, probably to his wife.

"Did she say where she was going?" Veronique asked as she stole the phone from Marc.

"Tyler was in my kitchen talking smack about how we're all going to get hurt and Julie heard and then said that she wanted to leave to protect us. I thought I had talked her out of it, but I guess not," I said and then Veronique was speaking in French and then sighed.

"Where's Tyler?" I heard Marc asked.

"Probably with Allie," I said and then there was a knock at my front door, "Hold on."

I walked to my front door and opened it to see that Tyler was there, '...Of course he is...'

"Hey man, I want to apologies to you and to Julie- Why are you making that face? What happened?" he asked because I was pissed off.

"She left," I said and Tyler sighed.

"Shit."

"Yeah, I know. You didn't shut up and she heard you and decided to leave!" I said and Tyler shook his head.

"Where is she heading? Why did she leave?"

"I don't know, to find her son, and she did it to protect us!" I said and then held the phone up to my ear, "Marc, Tyler's at my place."

"All right, I'm going to call the guys and we'll be over," he said and I hung up the phone and moved out of the way for Tyler to come in.

-Julie-

"Julie, why are we running? Those people seemed nice, and they wanted to help us! Help you! Help Josh! Why are you running from that?"

"I'm protecting them!" I said as I drove onto the highway heading South and hoping that's where Kyle was heading with my son as well.

We drove for hours and then I got tired and headed to a motel. I looked in my wallet and found that I had just enough money to rent a room for a night and Andrea and I walked into the room and fell asleep. My phone went off a few times, but I never answered it, and after the third time I just shut the damn thing off.

-Sidney-

"Can you find her?" I asked as I looked at the PI guy that Kyle had originally hired.

"Yeah, it says here that- Shit! She turned her phone off!" he said and I groaned.

"What does that mean?" Geno asked.

"It means that we can't track her," Marc said and I sighed.

"What about credit cards?" Allie asked.

"She doesn't have any?" I said and Allie shook her head.

"We gave her one for emergencies," she said and I looked at her.

"She might be too paranoid to use it though."

"If she's desperate, she'll use it," Allie said and I sighed and nodded my head.

"I have the area, but she turned it off to fast, I wasn't able to get to the exact location," the PI guy said and I looked at him.

"Where?"

"Somewhere in Harrisonburg, Virginia," he said and then typed onto his computer, "A little over four hours away."

I sighed and nodded my head, "Let's go."

"Sid! We have a game tonight!" Marc said and I looked at him and sighed.

"She would kill us if we missed that," Geno said.

"You guys go, I'll find Julie."

"Sidney!" Allie said and then walked over towards me, "Don't be stupid! You go to the game, Veronique and I will find Julie and bring her back!"

"No-"

"If you don't go to that game and win, I'll kill you myself!" Allie hissed and I sighed and nodded my head.

"I don't like this."

"You don't have to like it," she said and then looked at me, "You just have to do it."

"We'll text you with details about how the search is going," Veronique said and we nodded our heads, "Now go, because you have practice in an hour and if you miss that, your Coach won't be happy."

-Allie-

"Let's go, Vero," I said as I walked over towards my car and opened the door, "Make sure you call me if she turns her phone on!"

"Understand!" the PI guy yelled from the doorway and Vero and I got in and headed out.

"Do you know how to get to Harrisonburg?" Vero asked and I held up my iPhone.

"GPS!"

"That works," she said and I nodded my head and got onto the highway heading South to chase after Julie.

-Sidney-

I was the beginning of the first period and we were playing against the Philadelphia Flyers, my head was not in the game. I was facing off and lost, I didn't even look to see who I was going up against. My mind was just constantly thinking about Julie and Josh and hoping that both of them were all right.

I felt myself on the ground and that got my body remembering where I was.

"You all right, Sid?" Kris asked from above me and I nodded my head and he helped me up, "Come on, you have to get your head in the game."

-Julie-

We were back on the road and as I sat in my car waiting for Andrea to come out of the gas station, I checked my phone and saw that I had some text messages from Sidney and some of the other guys telling me to come home.

"Sorry guys, I have to find my son," I said and then deleted all of the messages and then saw that I had a message from Allie saying that she was on her way to get me.

"Julie!" I looked up and saw Andrea running to my car, "I asked the guy if he's seen Josh or Kyle and he hasn't. This is the only gas station for miles! What if Kyle didn't come this way?"

I looked at her and then looked at my phone, '...What if there's a reason for Allie to be coming to get me? What if she knows where Josh is?...'

"Julie, what if you're wrong? What if Kyle went North? Or East? or West?"

"I don't know," I said and then held my face, "I can't afford to be wrong."

"No one can be afford to be wrong, Julie. But the only way we're going to get Josh back is if we calm down and come up with a plan. How did you track me down to that building?"

"Using the PI guy that Kyle hired to follow me. He used the GPS signal from the cell phone."

"Can't we track Kyle like that?"

"The phone needs to be on," I said and then groaned because that's how Allie was coming for us, '...She's following our signal...'

-Allie-

We were driving on the highway, about two hours away from where Julie was suppose to be when my phone rang. I answered it and saw that it was Sidney's home, '...PI guy...'

"Talk to me, Greg! Where is she?"

"She's moving again, so that means that she turned her phone on! But listen Allie! I checking into Kyle's cell phone, he's not heading South!"

"Where is he going? North?"

"No! He's still in Pittsburgh!" he said and I almost dropped my phone.
