Chapter Twenty Seven

"Dad?" I said confused onto why my Dad was staring at Sidney with wide eyes.

"Holy shit!" he repeated as he walked into the house.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Mom asked and my Dad's mouth curved into a smirked.

"You're Sidney Crosby!" he said and I let out a little laugh and then shook my head. My Dad looked at me, "He's Sidney Crosby."

"Yeah Dad, I know," I laughed and Sidney smirked.

"Nice to meet you," he said and then held out a hand while using his other to hold onto Josh.

"Really! Really! Nice to me you!" he said and then furiously shook Sidney's hand. I laughed and then saw my Mom and sister laughing, "So you saved my daughter and grandson's life?"

"I- uh- um- sure," Sidney said nervously and I smiled and placed my hand on his arm.

"Well thank you," Dad said and then smiled towards me, "He's a keeper!"

"You're only saying that because he's a hockey player," Mom said and I laughed and Dad waved her off, "Well darling, you two look tired, and the poor dear is already asleep, why don't you take a nap?"

"All right," I said and then looked over towards Sidney to see that he was nodding his head.

"You remember where your room is?" Mom asked and I nodded my head.

"Let's go," Andy said and then she helped me pick up the bags because Sidney had Josh.

Andy led the way as we walked up the stairs and she opened the second door on the right, my room. Sidney and I walked in and I saw a little bed in the corner of the room right next to my old bed. Sidney walked over towards the little bed and laid him down and then looked back towards me and took the bags out of my hands and placed them on the bed.

"Thanks Andy," I said and she smiled and nodded her head.

"Sleep tight," she said and then walked out of the room and Sidney closed the door.

"So how do you want to do this?" he asked and I looked at him confused, "I'll sleep on the floor-"

I cut him off by pressing my lips against his and then dragging him over towards the bed and falling back on it with him on top of me.

-Sidney-

I woke up feeling a little hand shake my shoulder. I sat up and looked to see that Josh was inches away from my face.

"Mommy's crying," he said and then I looked to see that Julie was crying a little in her sleep.

'...She's having a nightmare...' I thought as I nodded my head towards Josh and then wrapped my arm around Julie's waist and pulled her over towards me and pressed her back against my chest.

I kissed her cheek and then moved some hair out of her face. She calmed down and I watched as Josh climbed over her and laid down in front of her, grabbing her hand. I smiled and then laid back down and laid my arm on her waist, surprised that the bed was able to fit the three of us.

-Julie-

I woke up to the feeling of being squished, I looked around and saw that Sidney was on one side of me while Josh was on the other, I smiled and then looked to see that Sidney's hand was on my waist and I brought mine over to it and laced my fingers with his.

"Mhmm, you're awake," he muttered and I looked back towards him and smiled.

"Barely," I said and then turned my body so that I was facing him.

"Are you all right?" he asked and I was confused, "You were having a nightmare before."

"I was?"

"Yeah, Josh woke me up and we saw that you were crying."

"I guess I was," I muttered and then Sidney laid on his back and I cuddled up against him, "How long were we asleep?"

"I don't know," he said and then started to run his fingers through my hair, "A while I guess."

"We should probably get up," I said and he nodded his head and then kissed my forehead.

There was a knock at my door and then it opened to show my Mother in the doorway, she looked over towards us and I sat up and looked at her.

"I was wondering if you were awake yet," she said and I nodded my head, "You look so cute together."

I blushed and then looked at Sidney, whose face was red as well, "Thanks."

"Some family members and friends are downstairs and want to see you. I tried to have them wait for tomorrow, but, you know," she said and I nodded my head.

"We'll be down in a bit," I said and she nodded her head and then left, closing the door behind her.

“We should get up before they decide to have the party in here,” Sidney said and I laughed and then laid back onto the bed, “They’re happy to see you, Julie, they haven’t in what- Seven years?”

“Yeah,” I said and then felt Sidney wrap his arm around my waist and pull me into him.

“It’ll be all right,” he said and then kissed my shoulder.

I took a deep breath and then sat up, “Let’s go,” I said and then crawled over Sidney and woke Josh up, “Sweetie, come on, let’s go meet some of your family.”

“All right,” he said sleepily and I smiled and then watched as he stood up and held out his arms. Sidney grabbed him and then the three of us headed downstairs and I didn’t even make it to the last step before I was attacked with hugs.

-Sidney-

I stood at the bottom of the steps holding onto a tired Josh and watching Julie interact with her family. I laughed as she tried to introduce me, but no one was letting her get a word in.

“Where’s Mommy?” Josh muttered and I looked at the little man.

“She’s right there, you want her?”

“Mommy,” he whined sleepily and I smiled and then waved over towards Julie as soon as she looked at me and she hurried over.

“He ok?”

“He wants you,” I said and she smiled towards me and then took Josh from me.

“I baby.”

“Mommy, I’m tired,” he said and I sat on the step and was at the same height as Julie.

“It’s the jet lag,” I said and Julie looked at me and nodded her head.

“Who’s this Julie?”

Julie turned around and I looked up to see a girl that looked to be Julie’s age standing really close to me and I felt uncomfortable.

‘…She’s got trouble written all over her face…’ I thought as I got a good look at her small skinny, almost anorectic body, bleach blonde hair, fake nails, fake tan, ‘…Is there anything real about this girl?...’ I thought as Julie smiled towards her.

“This is Sidney,” Julie said as she placed her hand on my knee and I smiled towards her, “Sidney, this is my cousin, Angel.”

‘…Hooker name? She looks nothing like an Angel...’

“Nice to meet you Sidney!” she said and I gave her a nervous smirk and then shook her held out hand.

“Same.”

“And you two are a thing?” Angel asked a little too eagerly for my taste and Julie nodded her head, “Oh, that’s nice.”

‘…Ok then…’ I thought and then heard Julie’s name called and she was attacked and fell on top of me.

It was a good thing that Josh was sitting next to me or he would have been trampled too. I had my arms under Julie’s arms and helped her stand up, listening to her laugh and seeing her hugging the two boys that hugged her.

“How are you two? Wow you got tall!” she said as she stood up and I looked at the two boys that were taller than her, “What are you guys like thirteen? Fourteen?”

“Thirteen,” they said and she smiled.

“Sidney, these are my two cousins Alex and Corey, I use to babysit them when they were younger,” she said and I smiled and then saw their eyes widen.

“Hey you’re- No way, that’s not-“

“He is man, look!”

“No it can’t be!”

“Mind explaining?” Julie said and I smirked knowing what was happening.

“You did tell me your family was really into hockey,” I said and Julie smirked and nodded her head.

“It is! Crosby!” Corey yelled and the two boys high fived and then started to attack me with questions.
