Chapter Twenty Nine

-Julie-

“Josh, wake up, come see what the Easter Bunny brought you,” I spoke as I gently shook my son awake.

“No, sleep,” he mumbled and I laughed.

“There looks to be chocolate out here,” I said, and that was the key work to wake my son up.

I laughed as he jumped out of his bed and ran out the room, looking around and not seeing anything.

“Where’s the chocolate?” he asked and I smiled.

“There’s a note on the table,” I said and Josh walked over towards the table and looked at the paper that had the short note on it.

“It says that I have to go on an Easter egg hunt,” he read and I nodded my head, “Where?”

“Where does it say?” I asked and Josh looked at the paper again.

“Downstairs!” he yelled happily and I smiled and watched as he ran out of the apartment and headed downstairs.

“HO HO HO!” I heard and then looked to see Sidney walk into the shop and bend down to hug Sidney.

“NO! That’s Christmas!” Josh teased and I laughed.

“Oh it is?” Sidney asked confused and then stood up, “Well then maybe I have the wrong place. I better go!”

“No! Stay!” Josh yelled as he held onto Sidney’s hand and I smiled.

There was nothing sexier than a man who knew how to handle children. Sidney handled Josh so well, that every time I see them together, I get so happy.

“But if I’m in the wrong place, then I have to go and get the right holiday!” he said and then bent down, “Help me out little man, what holiday is it?”

“Easter!” Josh yelled and I laughed and he tucked his arms in and started to hop up and down, “The Easter bunny came!”

“Bunny? I just ran into a bunny,” he said and I looked up, “Was the bunny pink and big?”

“I don’t know, he came when I was sleeping,” Josh said and I smiled.

“Oh, well I think he came back,” Sidney said and I was confused and then looked through the door to see a giant bunny walking through the door.

I had to bite my lip to hold myself back from laughing, ‘…I wonder who that is?...’

“It’s the Easter Bunny!” Josh yelled and then jumped onto him and hugged him.

I laughed and then watched Sidney walk over towards me and then hug me and kiss my cheek.

“Who is it?” I muttered while watching Josh go nuts over the giant buddy.

“Geno,” he whispered into my ear and I laughed.

“What’d you pay him to do this?”

“Let him take my air hockey table,” he said and then laced his fingers with mine and I smiled up towards him, “Happy Easter.”

“Happy Easter,” I said and then pressed my lips onto his.

“My parents will be at my house in about two hours,” Sidney said and I nodded my head, “Don’t be nervous, they’re gunna love you and Josh.”

“I’m not nervous.”

“You sure?” he asked and I looked at him and then sighed.

“Ok, maybe a little,” I said and he laughed and then wrapped his arms around my waist and then pushed my back against his chest.

“Everything will be all right,” he said and then laid his chin onto my shoulder and kissed my neck.

We watched as Josh took the ‘Easter Bunny’ around the shop to find where all of the hidden eggs were. I took out my phone and started to take pictures and then smiled when opened the one egg up and found money.

“You didn’t get anything for me, right,” I said as I looked back at Sidney.

“I ya- Um,” he said and I watched as he struggled.

“Sid! Come on,” I laughed, “I told you not to! This is a holiday for kids!”

He turned me around and placed his hands on my hips and I had my hands on his chest, “So, I saw it and watched to get it for you.”

“You didn’t have to,” I said and then watched as he smirked and leaned forward.

I smiled and then placed my hand on his neck and then brought my lips to his. Sidney’s hands moved up my back and he held me close as I snaked my one hand into his hair and tangled my fingers with his messy locks.

“Get a room,” I heard and then Sidney and I tore apart to see Allie walking down the stairs.

“Hi Allie,” Sidney said and I laughed and placed my head on his shoulder.

I turned around and watched as Allie stood still and stared at the big bunny that was walking around the store with Josh.

“Who’s the dinosaur?” she asked and I smiled.

“Geno,” Sidney muttered and Allie threw back her head and laughed.

“Oh, I have to wake up Tyler for this,” she said and then ran back up the stairs.

“Should we wake up Conner?” Sidney asked and I shook my head.

“Milly, Harold and Conner went to Florida to visit someone,” I said and he nodded his head.

-Sidney-

“Hi Mom,” I said as I kissed my Mom’s cheek and hugged her.

“Oh, where is she? Where is she?” Mom asked excitedly and I laughed.

“She’ll be here soon,” I said and then mom sighed.

“All right, point me to the kitchen!” Mom said and I nodded my head.

“Hello son.”

I turned around and saw my dad in the doorway carrying some big platters. I smiled towards him and then moved out of his way, “Hi dad, where’s Taylor?”

“Right here, big bro!”

I turned around and smiled when I saw my sister and then kissed her cheek and took the big plate out of her hand.

“How much did mom make?” I asked confused, “Where did she make it too?”

It was a sixteen hour drive from home, and I know that my mom didn’t make the food at home and then drive here.

“Her little secret I guess,” Taylor said and I nodded my head and then walked into the kitchen to put the plates on the counter.

“Oh, who is this little cutie pie?!” Taylor asked and I looked down to see that she was talking about Julie and Josh’s Easter present. I smirked and then looked to see that Taylor was picking her up and then holding her in her arms, “Mom! I want one!”

“You’re not getting a puppy,” Dad said and Taylor whined.

“You got a dog?” Mom asked and I smirked.

“It’s Julie and Josh’s present,” I said and then scratched the puppy’s head, “Coach’s brother was giving them away and I took one.”

“So what are they like?” Mom asked as she worked her way around the kitchen.

“Julie’s a little shy at first, she might be a little scared actually-“

“Well after everything that’s happened to her, she has every right to be,” Mom said and I nodded my head.

“And she has a son?” Dad asked and I nodded my head.

“Josh, he’s a cute little bugger. He wants to become a hockey player,” I said and dad smirked and grabbed a beer out of the fridge.

“So does he call you daddy yet?” Taylor asked as she sat down next to me and I smirked.

“Actually yeah,” I said and my parents looked at me.

“Really? Julie doesn’t mind?” Mom asked and I shook my head.

“I thought she would at first, because he started to call me it about two weeks ago after the hearing. I was terrified to tell Julie, but she was all right with it. She said he’s never really had a father figure around and that, he already looked up to me like one,” I said and then blushed.

“Awww, that’s so cute!”

“I guess before he met the guys and I, he wanted to become a racecar driver, but once he was introduced to hockey, that’s what he wanted. We went out and got him gear and everything,” I said proudly and my family smiled.

“Sounds like you’re in love with these two,” Dad said and I looked towards the counter and smirked.
