Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Resuce Me (Sidney Crosby) 065:

Chapter Sixty Five

"Come on Julie, please talk to me, I'm so sorry," I said as I sat in front of her on the bed and looked at her, "He looked like he was having a fun time, he said he hadn't had that much fun in a long time."

"Sid," she sighed and then stood up on the bed, "I asked you to not let him get crazy."

"I know, I broke my promise, I understand that and I'm sorry," I said and placed my hand on her knee, "I'm sorry Julie."

"We'll talk in the morning Sid, I'm tired," she said and I sighed and nodded my head.

"Am I forced to the couch?"

"Well considering that my beyond wasted father is occupying the couch, I'd say no, but just-" she sighed and laid down getting comfortable and hiding her face in the pillow, "Just go to bed."

-Julie-

"How are you feeling?" I asked my father as I walked into the living room and looked at my father who was hanging over the garbage can looking awful.

"I haven't drink- drunk- drank- ah, whatever the hell it-" he looked like he was about to be sick. I winced and looked away, "Christ, now I know why I stopped drinking like that after college."

I smirked and patted my dad's shoulder, "I'll get you some more water, maybe a pitcher."

"Jewels," I turned around and looked at my dad, "Don't be mad at Sid, I was the one who went out of control."

"He was suppose to watch you."

"I'm a grown man, Julie Marie McHale!" he said and then shoved his head into the trash.

"All right, dad," I sighed and then walked out of the living room, closing the rolling doors and then spraying the air because it smelled like vomit.

"How is he?" I heard and saw my mom walking down the stairs.

"Hung over," I snorted and she sighed and shook her head.

"He can't handle his liquor."

"From what I hear, he drank more than the others, I'm surprised he got as far as he did," I said and my mom nodded her head, "We'll just let him sleep it off."

"We should make as much noise as possible!" mom said and I smirked and shook my head.

"You're evil."

"Serves him right."

"That's your husband!"

"That's your father!" she said as we walked into the kitchen and I saw Josh playing with Sasha in the backyard, "So how did you find out how much your father drank?"

"Pascal Dupuis called this morning asking how he was doing," I said and then smirked, "He partied hard."

"I'll say," mom said and then sat at the counter and poured a cup of coffee.

I walked over towards the fridge and grabbed a few more bottles of water and brought them into the living room where dad was muttering that he was dying. I placed the water bottles in front of him and then took the two that he emptied and filled them up for him.

"Where's Sid?" mom asked as I walked back into the kitchen.

"Morning practice," I said and she nodded her head, "He'll be back in an hour."

"Are you still mad at him?"

"No, not really, I realize that it was more dad's fault."

"You should have known that your dad was going to get like that! He's around people he's been a fan of since he was your age, of course he's going to get a little crazy when he's with them."

I smirked and shook my head, "I guess you have a point."

"I'm happy you have a life here, Julie. I wish it was closer to home, but I'm happy for you."

"Thanks."

"Mommy! Mommy!" I turned around to see Josh running into the house.

"Baby shhh! Poppie is sleeping in the living room, he's not feeling too well so you have to be quiet in the house."

"Oh, all right," he said and I kissed his head, he was so cute, "Mommy, Grammy, come outside and see what Sasha and I can do!"

"All right!" I smiled and my mom and I walked outside and I watched as Sasha trotted over towards Josh and she stood in front of him.

"Sasha- Sasha, sit! Sasha sit!" he said as he held the ball up and I smiled when Sasha tried to jump up to get the ball, "Sasha sit!"

"He's so cute," my mom said and I nodded my head.

"Good girl!" I heard and looked back to see that Josh was sitting on Sasha's butt, "Mommy! She sat!"

I laughed and clapped my hands, '...I don't think she sat on her own...' I thought as my mom nudged my shoulder, "Good job Sasha!"

My mom and I sat outside and watched as Josh tried to teach Sasha some tricks, epic fail. When Sidney came home he kissed mine and my mom's cheek and walked over towards Josh and picked him up and threw him over his shoulder.

"Hey little man! You ready for practice?" he asked and Josh cheered, "All right, go get your gear and we'll head out!"

"I thought practice was tomorrow?" I asked as Sidney put Josh down and I watched as Josh ran into the house.

"I'll make sure that Josh doesn't wake your father," mom said and then walked into the house.

"A bunch of the guys are bringing their kids or nephews that play hockey to the rink and we're gunna have some fun, I'm saying practice, but it's not really," he said as he walked over towards me and I nodded my head, "How are you?" he asked and I nodded my head, holding my arms and looking at the ground, "How's your dad?"

"Dying," I laughed and then looked up towards Sidney to see he was smirking, "Or at least that's what he's saying."

"I am sorry," he said and I smirked and shook my head.

"It's fine, I should have known he was going to go crazy, he's not your responsibility," I said and Sidney sighed and placed his hands on my arms.

"I still promised I would watch him and I didn't do a good enough job."

"You were celebrating too! I mean, you shot the winning goal! I should have thought of you! You probably wanted to celebrate too! Not babysit my dad."

Sidney placed his hand on the back of my neck and pressed his lips against mine. I placed my fingers in the loop of his jeans and pushing him into me. He pulled away and then kissed my forehead, "I love you Julie."

"I love you too," I smiled and then grabbed some of his t-shirt and reached up to press my lips onto his really quick.

"I'm ready daddy!" we heard and Sidney smirked towards me.

"Go have fun," I said and playfully pushed Sidney towards the door where Josh was waiting patiently, "I'll see you tonight?"

"Yes, we'll be back in at least four hours," he said and I laughed and nodded my head.

"That went well," my mom said as she walked outside.

"Yeah," I said and then shook my head, "I can't stay mad at him."

"You love him," my mom said and I smiled and nodded my head. She smiled and then hugged me tight, "I guess I should get our bags ready."

"Why?"

"Sweetie, we've been here a week, it's time for us to head home."

"Just stay one more week, I love having you around, mom."

"Sweetie."

"You haven't even scheduled your flight yet, you can stay a few more days," I said and my mom smiled and kissed my head.

"I'll talk to your dad when he feels better."

"That'll at least be another day," I laughed and mom rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Damn man," she muttered and I laughed, "Can't help but love him."

"I know the feeling mom, I know the feeling."
