Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby) 069:

Chapter Sixty Nine

"I promise I won't fight again mommy," Josh said and I smiled and nodded my head.

It's been two days since my son got into a fight, yesterday he was suspended and spent the day in his room, or at least that was what I was told. I knew better than to believe Sidney when he said that Josh had absolutely no fun yesterday. It was hard to believe, because when I came home, there a lot of cars in the driveway and hyperactive hockey players in the living room playing videogames. I have no doubt in my mind that Sidney had had Tyler have Allie text her when I was leaving the shop, and then had another guy watching out the window. When I pulled in the driveway, Josh was running up the stairs and to his room.

"Thank you," I said as I walked out of the car and opened the back door for him to jump out.

"I'm sorry I told you to leave me alone," he muttered as I bent down and placed my hands on his arms.

"I love you Josh, don't you ever forget that," I smiled and Josh nodded his head, "Go have a good day at school."

"I will mommy," he said and I smiled and then kissed his cheek.

"Go on now!" I laughed and then patted his back as he started to walk towards the school.

"Julie!" I heard and looked to my side to see Allie walking over towards me and Conner had already started to run towards Josh, "Hi was yesterday?"

"You know that Sidney played games with him all day, right?" I laughed and she smirked and nodded her head.

"Tyler wanted me to text him when you left the shop."

"I knew it," I laughed.

"You mad?"

"No, " I smiled and then for whatever reason, my body was telling me to look down the street.

I saw this boy in a baggy outfit with a big duffle bag at his side. He walked right in front of Allie and I and eyed the school like he was up to something. I watched this boy walk down the rest of the street and then turn the corner, everything about him screaming 'danger'.

"Julie?"

"Huh? What?" I muttered and then looked back towards Allie.

"You all right?"

"Oh, uh, yeah, did you just see that kid that walked passed here?" I asked and she looked around and shook her head, "Must be my imagination."

"So what are you doing today?" Allie asked and I laughed.

"Well, I want to get home and say bye to Sid before he leaves for his press conference."

"That's just at the arena, right?" Allie asked and I nodded my head.

"Then they have practice right after," I said, "I wanted to get some wedding stuff finished, or at least midway finished."

"You want some help?" she asked and I smiled and nodded my head.

"Sure, thanks," I said and then headed towards the driver's door and Allie walked to the passenger door.

When we got home, Sidney was just walking outside, dressed in his suit and tie. I smiled as I pulled up next to his Rover and hopped out of the car.

"I didn't know if you would make it in time," he said and I ran into his arms and pressed my lips against his. Sidney wrapped his arms around my waist and pushed me up against his car, "Hmmm, I love you."

"Love you too!" I smiled and Sidney looked to his side and saw Allie walking into the house, "We're gunna work on some wedding stuff."

"All right, well, I have that press thing and then practice, I'll be finished around four," he said and I nodded my head and draped my around over his shoulders.

"Remember that Josh has hockey practice at five," I said and Sidney nodded his head, "You know how he likes you to be there."

"I know, I'll be there," Sidney said and then pressed his lips against mine, "Love you."

"Love you too," I said and then Sidney pulled away, "You better get going."

"Yeah, I'm already late," he said and then kissed my cheek and hopped into his car.

I watched as he backed out of the driveway and drove down the street, when I couldn't see him anymore, I walked into the house and saw that Allie was sitting in the dining room looking at my wedding ideas.

It was about two hours after that, just after ten in the morning, that both of our cell phones were going off. We had received a text, a text from the school that there was a situation and that we should pick up our children.

"What's going on?" Allie asked as we jumped out of our seats and started to head towards the door.

"I don't know," I said and then ran outside and to the car, turning it on and turning it to the news station to see that nothing was on.

As we traveled into the city, police cars raced passed us, and I gripped the steering wheel until my knuckles were white, '...This isn't good. Josh...'

-Sidney-

"Man those media people are ruthless," Pascal laughed as we walked into the locker room to see that the guys were sitting in their lockers.

"I know man, one question after another, they don't stop," I said as I sat on the bench in front of my locker and saw that all my gear was out for me.

Once everyone got into the locker room, we all changed into some shorts and a Penguins t-shirt and then made a circle in the locker room. James had grabbed the soccer ball and we all started to pass the ball around, bouncing it on our knees and then kneeing it to the person across from us, something we did before heading out onto the ice for practice.

The guys were goofing around and were blasting some kind of rap music on the radio. Pascal was next to me and we were talking about how we were going to miss Josh and Kody's hockey game this weekend because we were going to be at an away game.

"Is this the first game that you missed?" he asked and I shook my head.

"I missed the one two weeks ago, but they won that one. If they lose then I'm going to feel bad, because when they lost last week's game," I said and he nodded his head.

"Yeah, Kody was depressed too," Pascal said and then rubbed his face, "It's definitely hard, but we can't help it, our wives, or soon to be wife," he smirked and nudged my shoulder as he caught the ball, "knew what they were getting into when they agreed to marry us, or date us in that matter."

I laughed and nodded my head, "Julie seems to be use to it, but it's the kid I'm worried about."

"Never thought you would be the father of someone else's kid did ya?" Matt Cooke asked and I laughed and shook my head, "Neither did I, but I treat Gabby as if she were my own."

"Same with Josh."

"So then adopt the kid," Cooke said and I smirked.

"I've thought about it."

"You don't want that whole 'he's going to the shelter home' to happened again?" Cooke asked and I shook my head, "Then adopt him."

"He's afraid to ask Julie," Tyler said and I glared at him, "What? You are!"

"I am not!"

"Please, you're afraid that she's going to say no," Tyler said and I sighed.

"Man come on, that girl loves you!" James said as he passed the ball to Kunitz, "And the kid adores you too, I don't see the problem here."

"Sid, you're just being paranoid, Julie's gunna say yes," Kris said and I smirked.

"She's got full custody of Josh, right?" Cooke asked and I nodded my head, "Then you don't have to worry about getting the father's signature of approval."

"Did you, Cooke?" Marc asked and he nodded his head.

"Those were fun times," he smirked, "Took everything in me not to knock the guy out the first time when he said no."

"Why did he say no?" I asked.

"Just being a prick," Cooke answered as he caught the ball, "He ended up signing the forms and leaving them in our mailbox the very next day."

"Just like that?" I asked and Cooke smirked.

"Well-"

"I knew it!" Tanner Glass laughed and shoved Cooke's shoulder.

"Guys!" we heard and I caught the ball and turned around to see one of the assistant Coach's standing in the doorway with a phone in his hands, "Sid, you've got a call."

"Who is it?"

"Julie? I think. She said she's been trying your cell," he said and I threw the ball to the guys and walked over towards the phone.

"Jewels?"

"Turn on the news!" she cried and I looked towards the guys and had them turn the music off and throw me the remote for the flat screen that hung on the wall.

"What's going on, Julie? What's wrong-" my eyes widened as I stared at the TV.
