Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Chapter Seven

Three days after Valentine's Day and everything was surprisingly finished in time. Yesterday while at the coffee shop, the guy that I've been running into, I learned that his name was Sidney and he asked me if we could stay and have coffee instead of just leaving the next day, because he had to be somewhere today. He'd ask me before, but I declined because I was scared, but then when he gave me a rose on Valentine's Day, I found it sweet and then when he asked me again, I decided that I would stay for coffee tomorrow.

When I got back to the shop Allie was sitting on top of the counter kissing her boyfriend, "Oops, sorry."

"Julie, wait!" she said and then ran after me, "How did the coffee run go?"

"Good, I'm going to have coffee with him tomorrow."

"Wonderful! Hey, Tyler has a game tonight and got us tickets, do you want to go? We can bring the boys?"

"I'll ask Josh and Conner," I said and then she smiled and walked back into the kitchen with her boyfriend, "Make sure you disinfect everything!"

"Shut up!" she laughed and I walked up the stairs to see that the boys were watching cartoons.

"Hi boys!"

"Mommy!" Josh said and then jumped up and hugged me.

"Hi sweetie! Hey I have a question," I said and then walked over towards Conner, with Josh behind me and then sat on the couch, "Do you two want to go to a hockey game tonight?"

Conners eyes lit up and he smiled, "YEAH!!!"

"What's hockey?" Josh asked and I smiled as Conner explained it, or at least explained it in a seven year olds words, "Yeah, I'll go!"

"All right, I'll let Allie know," I said and then stood up and walked over towards my room to see that my bedroom door was opened and Bow was laying on my bed. I smiled towards her and then scratched her neck and looked at the picture of my family on the wall.

"Why don't you call them?"

I turned around and saw Allie standing in the doorway looking at me, "You know why I can't call them."

"You said that you haven't seen him for months, why not call them and let them know that you're all right?"

"I might not have seen him, but that doesn't mean that he's not there, or close behind me. I think the only reason he hasn't found me here is because he never would have thought that I'd be hiding in the city. But that'll only last so long," I explained and she walked in and sat next to me.

"You know you have people here that care about you and will help protect you," Allie said and I smiled towards her and laid my head on her shoulder, she was like an older sister to me.

"Tyler leave?"

"He had to get ready for the game tonight. So are you going?"

"We're going to go," I said and she smiled and nodded her head.

"Let's get you ready for your first game," Allie said and then she stood up and walked over towards my closet. I showered and then by the time I came out, Allie had an outfit already picked out for me, "Put this on and I'll work on your hair, I'm going to get something ready for the boys."

I nodded my head and then placed on the black skinny jeans and then looked to see that she had lain out a long sleeve pink shirt where the one sleeve fell off of my shoulder. Allie had left out some cute heeled boots and I put them on and walked over towards my mirror and smiled, I looked pretty.

"All right, makeup time!" Allie said and then walked in with a big bag. She did my makeup and then fixed my long hair, having it put up but making it really curly, "All right, I'm going to go and get ready and then we'll head over towards the arena."

"All right," I said and then walked out into the living room to see that Josh and Conner were wearing jerseys, "Oh look at you two! Where'd you get those?"

"From Allie! She said Tyler got them for us! Look I'm number," he looked at the number, "Seven, one!"

"So Josh, you're number seventy one," I said and smiled and turned Josh around, "You're Malkin. Malkin? Oh, Geno! You're Geno!" I said remembering him from the other day. Josh smiled and then I looked at Conner, "And you Conner, are number forty eight! You're," I turned him around, "Kennedy?"

"I'm Tyler!" Conner yelled and I smiled because that was Allie's boyfriend.

"We ready?"

I looked up and saw Allie in the apartment doorway and saw that she was wearing a pair of dark wash skinny jeans, a silver tank top with a black cardigan over it, she had silver flats on and then had her black purse handing from her arm.

"You look cute!"

"We all do, let's go," she said and I smiled and the four of us walked down the stairs and through the shop.

We said bye to Mildred and Harold and then headed down the elevator into the garage under the building and got into Allie's SUV. When we got to the arena, she pulled into the VIP parking area and Josh and Conner looked around excitedly.

We parked the car and then walked into the building. Allie showed her ID and then a man guided us over towards an elevator and took us up to the top floor.

"You'll be staying in this Suite," the man said as he opened the door and we walked in.

"Wow!" Josh and Conner yelled as they ran in and jumped around.

"So cool!" Josh yelled and I smiled and walked in.

"This is pretty cool."

"Yeah, Tyler puts me in here all the time, but it's pretty boring when you're by yourself."

There was a bar, a bathroom, a big couch that face a flat screen TV that was going to show the game, and then a door that led out into the balcony were five seats were. We walked out onto the balcony and looked down at the ice to see the boys skating around.

"They're warming up now, the game should start in a half hour," Allie said and I nodded my head.

It was the middle of second period and the boys were winning against the Flyers. I looked over towards Julie, Josh and Conner and saw that they were cheering and having a good time, I smiled because it was probably the first time in seven years that they were having a good time.

"Auntie Allie, I'm hungry," Conner said and I nodded my head and decided that I was going to order up a pie of pizza. When it came, everyone dug in and we continued to watch the game.

"He looks really familiar," Julie said as I looked on the jumbotron to see that they were showing a picture of #87 Sidney Crosby.

"Crosby? Why?"

"I don't know, he just looks really family," she said and then shook her head, "Must be nothing."

"Oh you know what, I've been meaning to ask you and I keep forgetting," I said and Julie looked at me, "What's your cell phone number so I can have it?"

"I don't have one," she said and I looked at her confused.

"No?"

"Nope, I can't afford one," she said and I sighed.

"We'll have to get you one."

"Allie no, you and Milly have done so much for me!"

"Hey, it's all right, I have an old one at home, we can activate it and then give it to you," I explained and Julie shook her head, but I was going to have my way, "Julie, what if you had an accident, or needed it for an emergency, or meet a guy and he wants your number."

"Allie-"

"You're getting a phone, end of story!" I said and smiled happily.

It was the end of the game and the Penguins had won, we waited about a half hour, and then Allie said that we were going to go down to the locker room to see the boys. We knocked on the door and then walked in to see that all of the guys had pants on, but most of them were shirtless.

'...Holy Hotties...'

Allie ran over towards Tyler and hugged him because he made a goal that night, I looked down and saw that Conner was following her.

"Hey! Little man! You're wearing my jersey!" Geno yelled as he walked over and high fived Josh.

"Boujour Julie!"

I turned my head to see that Marc was putting his shirt on, I smiled and then placed my hand on Josh's head, "Boujour Marc!"

"Je ne savais pas que vous étiez ici ce soir." (I didn't know that you were here tonight)

"Tyler nous a invités." (Tyler invited us)

"C'était gentil de sa part. Avez-vous aimé le jeu?" (That was nice of him. Did you enjoy the game)

"Je n'ai, tu es très bon," (I did, you're very good) I said and then felt someone bump into me.

"Geez Crosby, watch where you're walking, you nearly pushed the poor girl over!" Geno nagged and I turned my head to see that I was face to face with him.

"YOU!!!" we both said at the same time and everyone's eyes were on us.

Day Forty and I'm pleasantly surprised.
