Chapter Seventy Eight

“So how was your night alone?” Marc asked with a smirk on his face as we walked downstairs to the game room, seeing that Kris, Geno and James were already there.

“Good,” I smirked and Marc rolled his eyes.

“Dude, I did you a favor and watched your kid, all ya got is ‘good’,” Marc teased as he sat on the couch and hit play on his controller.

“Really good,” I laughed and then sat on the chair next to the couch and watched as the four of them battled in a game of Mario kart.

“You’re killin’ me,” Marc said and I laughed.

“Oh my god, what do you want? Down to down detail of what we did? What positions we did?” I asked and Kris paused the game and they all looked at me, “Oh god, I’m not-“

“Dude, bro code,” James said and I rolled my eyes, “Tanger!”

“Bro code number eighty seven,” Kris smirked and I rolled my eyes, “states that if a child is dropped off at a friend’s house so that the guardian can have some ‘alone time’ with-“

“You’re so full of shit it’s not even funny!” I laughed and Marc growled, “Oh my god, we got a six pack and a carton of ice cream, watched a few movies and then fucked like hormonal teenagers! Are ya happy now?!”

“It’ll do Sid, it’ll do,” James said and I scoffed and shook my head.

“Assholes,” I said and the guys laughed.

“Daddy!” I heard and we all turned around to see Josh running down the stairs and over towards me.

“What’s up kid?”

“Mommy wants to know if you’re ready to go,” Josh said and I nodded my head.

“Yeah, why don’t you go tell your Uncle’s bye,” I said and Josh nodded his head and then charged towards the guys and did like an open dive, something a rock star would do during a concert, “You’re crazy kid,” I laughed and then watched as he crawled onto everyone’s lap and hugged each of them

“So did you have fun?” Vero asked and I felt my face heat up as I nodded my head, “I’m guessing he’s good.”

“So good,” I breathed, feeling all fuzzy just remembering last night.

“Wow, don’t lose control of yourself here!” Vero laughed and shook her head.

Sidney and Josh came upstairs and we said bye to Vero. Sidney drove home and smiled when I heard Josh talking to Sasha in the backseat.

“Daddy!” Josh called and I looked at Sidney to see him looking in the rearview mirror.

“Yeah buddy.”

“Can we go for a walk when we get home?”

“Sure, we do you want to go?”

“To the park,” he said and I smiled towards Sidney to see him looking at the road and smirking.

“Sure, do you want it to be just us, or your mom too?”

“Just us,” he said and I looked back towards Josh, “Sorry momma, it’s man’s time!”

Sidney slammed on the breaks and I flung forward a little looked at Sidney confused and then looked in front of the car, “I’m gunna kill Flower,” Sidney said and I laughed and shook head.

“Do I want to know?”

“I’ll tell you when we get home,” he said and I nodded my head and looked back to see that Sasha had fallen off of the seat and Josh was bending over to make sure that she was all right.

We got home and Josh ran upstairs to his room to put his overnight bag away. I walked into the kitchen with Sidney and placed my hand on his chest and pressed my lips against his, “So what does ‘man time’ mean?”

Sidney smirked and shook his head, placing his hands on my side and bringing his lips to my ear, “Sex time with girlfriend.”

“Oh my god,” I gasped, trying not to laugh, but I couldn’t help be crack a giggle, “Damn Marc.”

“Josh must have heard Marc say it somewhere,” Sidney said and I shook my head and then heard Josh running down the stairs, yelling that he was ready to go.

“Have fun,” I said as I leaned up and pressed my lips onto his, “Make sure you watch him!”

“I will,” he said and then kissed my cheek and walked over towards Josh, picked him up and threw him over his shoulder, “Come on champ!”

“Bye mommy!” Josh laughed as he waved upside down on Sidney’s shoulder.

“Bye baby!” I said and then watched as they walked out of the front door. I sighed and then looked down to see Sasha looking up towards me, “Did they forget you?” she whined and then jumped up on me. I laughed and then rubbed her head and patted her back, “Come on, let’s go watch some TV.”

“Higher daddy! Higher!” Josh laughed as I pushed him on the swings.

I heard my phone ring in my back pocket grabbed it, shoving it between my shoulder and ear after hitting answer, “Hello?”

“Sid! It’s TK, where are you?”

“I’m at the park with Josh, why? What’s- And he hung up on me,” I said as I took the phone and looked at it strangely, “Ok.”

“Daddy! Higher!” he laughed and I smirked and nodded my head.

“You gotta pump, buddy,” I smirked and watched as he slowed down.

“What?”

“Pump on the swings,” I said and then walked over towards the swing next him and pushed myself up and started to pump, “Like this, you’ll go pretty high.”

“Really?” he asked as he slowed to a stop and I nodded my head, and placed my feet to the ground, bringing myself to a stop.

He was too small still, his feet still dangled off the ground; I looked over towards him to see that he was staring at the ground looking sad, something he’s been doing a lot since Conner died.

“Hey buddy, what’s goin’ on in that head of your?” I asked as I ruffled his hair.

“I miss Conner,” he said sadly and I sighed and placed my hand on his shoulder.

“I know you do, buddy, but he’s in a better place, probably surrounded by hockey and cars,” I smiled towards him, trying to make him feel better.

“I know, but, I still miss him,” he said and I placed my hands under his arms and picked him up and held him close.

“It’s all right to miss someone, Josh. No one’s going to be mad at you or treat you differently. Do you understand?” I asked and Josh nodded his head as he laid it on my shoulder, “Do you wanna go home?”

“Can we go on the merry go round?” he asked and I smirked and nodded my head.

“Sure, let’s go,” I said as we walked over towards the merry go round and I placed Josh on it and then watched as he just laid down with his legs dangling off the side.

“Whenever mommy and I went to a park, we use to always lay on the merry go round and stare up at the sky,” Josh said and I got the hint that he wanted me to lay with him.

We were laying there a while, ended up starting a game of ‘what shape is that cloud’, until I sat up because I heard tires screeching and then someone calling my name. Josh sat up and I pulled on his shirt and moved him closer to me as I watched as Kris and Tyler jumped out of the car and ran over towards us.

“Sid, we’ve got a problem,” Tyler said and I looked up towards him sternly, waiting for him to continue, “It’s Boris again.”

“Where’s Allie?” I asked, feeling Josh’s hands on my back.

“With Vero and Catherine, Marc’s watching them,” Kris answered and I sighed.

“Daddy?” Josh whispered, but I ignored him.

“What does he want?” I asked.

“Payment, he told Allie that he wanted his men’s payment,” Tyler said and I shook my head confused.

“He wants Julie, Sid, remember what happened in the locker room?” Kris asked and I growled.

“Daddy.”

“Hold on, Josh.”

“Daddy.”

“What buddy?” I asked and turned my head to see him looking at something, “Josh?” I turned my head in the direction that he was looking at to see that there were three guys standing by a car, the one in the middle being Boris. I cursed and then stood up and placed Josh behind me, ‘…This bastard just doesn’t know when to quit…’ I growled as my grip around Josh tightened, “Tanger, take Josh home and watch over Jewels.”

“You got it,” Kris said and then walked over towards me, “Come on Josh, let’s go for a walk.”

“Daddy?”

“It’s all right, little man,” I smirked and ruffled his hair, “Uncle Kris is just gunna take you back home, I’ll see you soon.”

“All right,” he said and waved towards me and Kris started to run out of the park.

“What are we gunna go, Sid?”

“Talk.”
