Second Chance

It'd been a month since I'd seen Jacob. Danny was all for moving with his Dad but I still had to hand in my two weeks notice and find a job up in Canada. I got Danny and Is visas and his school straightened out and had even found a job working with as a teacher at a college in Criminal behavior which meant my schedule wouldn't be so hectic. Jacob left the day after we slept together for the second time, which made it feel like the first time except it was him leaving, not me. It took a month but finally Danny and I were standing at the airport waiting for Puck's crate to come out. I saw no sign of Jacob and slowly hoped he hadn't forgotten. I heard my name being called and it was from a voice I hadn't heard in years. Eddie. I would remember his adorable voice anywhere.

"Eddie? Wow. Long time, no see." I gave him a hug and realized I was way too short. I felt an increase in pressure on my legs and realized a scared Danny was hiding. "Danny, this is Eddie, he's a friend of Daddy's, say hi." He had managed to squeak out a hello but was still scared. Eddie bent down and said "So your the kid Jacob doesn't stop talking about. Jacob told me if you were shy I should try this." He pulled out a KitKat and soon Danny was on top of Eddies shoulders smiling.

"You bribed my child. I can't even be mad because that would work on me too. So why isn't Jacob here for us. Not that I mind seeing you."

"He had some business at the rink, he wanted me to take you back to his new house so you guys could get settled."

"He isn't living with you. I thought that was the deal until he made sure he wouldn't be traded again." I questioned. Why would Jacob lie to me? That kind of hurt.

"You'll see."

We drove for an hour until we reached a very nice house with a big yard. "He didn't." "Oh but he did." Eddie smiled. God dammit. The man was perfect. Danny and Puck were out of the car before I could say another word and my boyfriend came running outside and capturing the small child in a bear hug. Eddie went and got out bags while I leaned against the car and tried to play it cool. Jacob sent me his signature smirk and the dimples popped. I was in his arms with my legs wrapped around his torso faster than he could stop a puck. He gave me a deep kiss and I realize dhow much I missed him. "Never leave me again." He breathed out. "Never."
