Second Chance

"Vancouver, VANCOUVER! Are you fucking serious? Vancouver?" Jacob had just broke the news to me of his being traded to not only a different team but a different country. "You do realize we haven't even had sex yet!" I was now screaming, completely unsure of how this was suppose to work. Danny was in Arlington with my parents for a week, giving Jacob and I some alone time.

"We actually have had sex, do you not remember our child." He retorted to me.

"Are you really going to sass me? You are leaving me and our son for Canada." I now had teams streaming down my face realizing that this was the end.

"I'm not leaving you, if you come with me." My jaw drops and I am left completely speechless. Move to Canada with him. Danny was young enough that it wouldn't hurt him too much. How would I get another job. I worked for an American agency. This was Canada we were talking about.

"Are you worried about work? Because you do realize you could still be an analyst but just for a Canadian group. Danny needs both parents, I can't stay in Florida, my career is hockey. I know its hard but I can't live without you Bridget. I need you, I lost you once and I can't do it again, I'll go mad. Please Bridge, please." He was on the verge of tears and it clicked for me. I loved him. Over the past 3 or 4 months I fell in love with a freakishly tall, foreign kid who I'd managed to get pregnant with. I was truly , madly, deeply in love with him. Over the past few months he had been a great Dad and was the perfect boyfriend.

"I love you." I said quietly. His eyes started to become bright and he picked me up and spun me around.

"God Bridget. I love you so fuckin' much."

"We'll go. We will go to Vancouver with you." He didn't respond which I think meant he was too happy to form words. I just smiled at him and kissed him. Soon we were in a very hot make out session on the couch and clothes were starting to be shed.

"I think we should take this to my room." I said to him. His smile had never been brighter.
