Nineteen: Say Something

A week had past since Ainsley's party. Felicia's birthday was on the Sunday, so her two older brothers decided to throw her a party. It wasn't a surprise, seeing as she was expecting one. They set everything up, with the help of the girls. Kristen was no where to be found. Jamie had called her. Jordie had called her. Ainsley had called her. Everyone had called her. Sidney informed everyone she never even came home from school.
"You're not the slightest bit worried that she's dead or something?" Ainsley inquired.
Sidney shrugged. He walked out of the room. He didn't want to be around Ainsley. She was making him question every rule there had ever been against the whole 'best friend's siblings off limits'. He knew his teammates didn't follow it, but as captain, he felt he had to. Ainsley rolled her eyes at him as she walked up to Felicia's room. She knocked and walked in without a reply. Felicia was laying in her bed.
"What's up?" She asked, not looking from her phone.
"I actually had a normal conversation with Sidney last week, and I'm pretty he was flirting, but now he's being a robot again." Ainsley whined, laying back.
"He's big on the hockey rules. Probably won't even touch you because you're Marc's sister." Felicia explained.
"Everyone else on the team has. Why is he the only one I actually wanna get with but won't touch me?" Ainsley sighed.
"Because he's captain. He has to set an example." Felicia rolled her eyes.
"He can set it after he lets me go down on him." Ainsley smirked.
"You're a joke. Go set up for my party." Felicia shoved her off the bed.
Ainsley moped down the stairs. When she got to the main floor, she saw Kristen had arrived. She was already in her party attire as she helped set up the beer pong table. She looked up at Ainsley and smiled. Ainsley cocked a brow, crossing her arms as she walked over. Kaitlyn, Valerie, and Jocelyn had the same reaction. The four girls huddled around Kristen.
"Where were you?" Kaitlyn poked.
"I was busy." Kristen chuckled.
"Too busy to set up your best friend's birthday party?" Valerie exclaimed.
"I'm here now!" Kristen shouted back.
"Why'd you walk in with Beau?" Jocelyn asked, not missing a beat.
"I was busy with him." Kristen licked her lips.
"Wow, amazing." Ainsley laughed. "You and Bennett?"
"I have been waiting for this moment since I came to this school." Kaitlyn sang.
"Keep it on the down low." Kristen whispered.
All the girls agreed to as they broke off to do their own things. Once set up was finished, Felicia came down, demanding everyone pre-drank. Everyone agreed and the drinking began. More people arrived as the night went on. Felicia was wasted. Her intentions for the night were to get black out drunk and not remember a thing. Jamie wished she wouldn't, but he'd watch her from a distance instead of ruining her night.
Jocelyn's night was ruined. Jake was way too drunk and was currently being friends with everyone. That was fine, but now she was alone. And she was stuck alone, looking friendless, as Morgan walked in with his new girl. Jocelyn knew his game. He walked in with a smug grin and a bleach blonde bimbo on his arm to try and upset her. It didn't upset her in the way he wanted it to. It upset her that he was so unhappy for her and Jake that he was attempting to make her upset over his new girl. Felicia spotted Morgan and his bimbo. She staggered over to them. She crossed her arms in front of them. Morgan smiled at her, giving her a quick hug.
"Happy birthday." He chimed.
"Not my birthday yet, Morgo." She pointed a finger at him.
"Morgo?" He laughed.
"More like Moron." She spat. "I see your little game here. You think because you got your cute little face that you can bring some," She looked at the girl on Morgan's arm. "Thing, to my party to try and make Jocelyn mad but she really likes Jake and you're stupid."
Morgan shook his head, pulling his toy along. Felicia followed him with her eyes before she spotted Jocelyn. Jocelyn was laughing at the confrontation that had just happened. Felicia staggered over to her. She dropped onto the couch beside her.
"Look, I like Jake and I like you with Jake, but you definitely picked the dog looking one." Felicia rambled.
Jocelyn laughed. "What?"
"Jake kinda looks like Ainsley's dog." Felicia explained.
"They're both cute." Jocelyn frowned.
"I never said he wasn't!" Felicia gasped. She froze when she saw Jeff. "I'll see you later. I'm on the prowl." She announced before she made her way over to him. She slid her arms around his waist. "The way you play completes me."
"Hey, Birthday Girl." He grinned, pulling her into a hug.
"I haven't seen you all night." She cried as she hugged him back.
"I just got here. I had to help Jillian with something." He explained, still holding her close. "Did you know Brendan's here?"
Felicia shook her head. "I literally told him not to come." She growled, pulling away from Jeff.
She started a stride to find Brendan but Jeff pulled her back. "I'll go ask him to leave. You stay here." Jeff said, kissing the side of her head.
Felicia watched Jeff make his way over to Brendan. There was a small height difference between the two. Brendan was smaller but buffer. The pair stood close as they talked. Felicia began walking over when she saw Brendan push Jeff back. Within a second, a fight between the two had broke out. Felicia ran over. The pair went down.
Jeff was on top as he fed Brendan shots. Felicia yanked at Jeff. Jordie and Jamie pushed through, pulling the two apart. Jeff lacked any damage. Brendan was another story. Jordie dragged Jeff to the stairs. Felicia followed. Jordie turned to face him.
"Take him upstairs until I get Brendan out of here." He instructed.
She nodded and followed Jeff upstairs. He walked into Felicia's room. She slammed the door behind them. Jeff sat on the edge of her bed. He held out his hands and saw his knuckles were all cut up. Felicia noticed as well. She got to the washroom. She wet a cloth and walked back to her room. She sat on the floor in front of him. He wouldn't look her in the eye.
"Jeff, what the hell?" She yelled as she started wiping his knuckles.
"Don't start." He begged.
"You just did!" She belted. He looked up at her. "Why'd you do that?"
"He shoved me first." He defended.
"So you hit him." She scoffed.
"You didn't hear what he was saying about you." Jeff shook his head. "I wasn't going to let him just say that shit."
Felicia grabbed Jeff's face and brought her lips to his. He kissed her back before he realized what was going on. He pulled her away.
"Felicia, stop. You're drunk." He sighed.
"I still want to kiss you." She laughed, trying to again.
"No. You want to because I'm the person who showed you how shitty Brendan was." He explained.
"No, Jeff. I want to kiss you because I like you." She argued.
He laughed, standing up. "It's great that you're just realizing that now when I've been trying to get you attention for years." He hissed.
He walked out of her room and Felicia followed him. "I don't know what I'm supposed to say. I'm not gonna lie and say I've always been hiding my feelings and I've loved you since day one." She told him.
He spun around on the stairs. "That's not a lie for me! That's how I've always been with you!" He shouted.
"Then why are you running when I feel the same way?" She asked.
"Because you're drunk. How you're feeling in this state means nothing!" He stated.
He continued his trek down the stairs. Felicia followed. He walked outside and she continued to follow. He just walked ahead of her.
"Felicia, go home. We'll talk at school." He stopped, not looking at her.
"What do you mean? You're not spending tomorrow with me?" She questioned.
"I don't think I can." He admitted.
"We've spent every birthday together since I moved here." She frowned.
"Things change." Jeff shrugged.
"Best friends aren't supposed to." She hissed.
"I don't know if I can be that with you." He looked away.
"What the fuck? Are you fucking kidding me?" She screamed.
"Go home." He growled.
"I can't believe you." She shook her head.
"We'll talk on Monday." He told her.
"No, we won't. I don't want to talk to you." She chuckled. "I don't want anything to do with you."
"Honestly, Felicia?" He exhaled. "Fine. Do what you need to do."
Felicia shook her head before she spun around. She stomped back to her house. Jeff watched her. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he walked does the path to his front door.
