Thirty-One: Everybody's Got A Secret

Felicia watched as Jamie walked the halls alone. She knew it was because all the guys had other classes, but she still hated seeing him alone. She turned, exhaling loudly. He looked up at her and smiled. She waved. He walked changed directions and walked over to her.
"Why are you all alone?" She asked as he approached.
He shrugged. "Tyler's my only friend, really, and he's not around so." Jamie explained.
"Where is he? Did he find a new girl he wants to get with?" She laughed.
"Yeah, actually." Jamie smirked. "Nothing new with him."
"Any girls you've been hooking up with?" She nudged him.
"Nope. I'm pretty low key." He taunted.
Felicia rolled her eyes as she turned to her locker. He texted beside her and she rummaged through her things. That's when the thought occurred. She spun to face him with wide eyes. He looked at her with a look of concern.
"Are you a virgin?" She whispered.
He let out a loud laugh. He continued laughing for a minute before he took a deep breath. He shook his head and continued laughing. He looked at his sister who was staring at him in confusion. He stopped laughing and stood up straight.
"No, god no. I had my share in Victoria." He stated.
"Don't tell me that!" She cried.
"You asked!" He defended.
"Wait, why haven't you had your share here?" She quizzed.
"It's different here. I'm Jordie's weird, little brother." He sighed.
"And my other, weird, older brother." She teased.
"Actually, not that many people know you." He confessed.
"Oh, shut up." She scoffed. He smiled and waved as he turned to walk off. "Jamie, wait,"
"What now?" He jokingly growled.
"Do you have practice after school?" She tilted her head to the side. He shook his head. "Can we, like, hang out?"
He chuckled. "Why? I'm a loser."
"But you're my loser, big brother and I barely see you anymore." She frowned.
"Hey, you're the one always with Jeff or your friends." He argued.
"Jamie." She huffed, crossing her arms.
"Yes, we can hang out. Be outside, ASAP, after school, or you're walking." He warned before he took off.
Felicia went to her next class as the bell rang. She sat in the back with Ainsley, Jocelyn, and Kristen. They were all chatting while Felicia was kind of distant. Jocelyn looked at her, doing a double take, before she realized something was wrong. She turned back to her friend.
"Felicia, you alright?" She called on her.
Felicia nodded. "I guess." She shrugged.
"What's up?" Kristen asked, spinning around.
"I'm worried about Jamie." Felicia confessed.
"Why? What's wrong with him? He seems fine." Jocelyn stated.
"Yeah, he's fine but I don't know." Felicia sighed. "I feel like he's,"
"Depressed?" Kristen spoke.
"Lonely. Jordie and I are off in our own worlds and he's kinda just off with Tyler, when Tyler isn't busy." Felicia explained.
"What's Tyler busy with besides his giant head?" Jocelyn laughed.
"He's seeing a bunch of girls." Felicia rolled her eyes. "Do you think Jamie needs a girl?"
"When was the last time he,"
"Before he came here." Felicia cut Kristen off. "Do you think he needs that?"
"I'll do it." Ainsley smirked.
"That's the only input you've had." Jocelyn chuckled.
"You don't get both of my brothers." Felicia shook her head.
"And mine!" Kristen cried. "You're dating my brother currently."
"It was just an offer. Jeez." Ainsley defended.
"Hey, I'm another option." Jocelyn chimed.
"Jake?" Kristen cocked a brow. Jocelyn shrugged.
"Okay, none of you are fucking Jamie." Felicia growled. "I'll talk to him tonight."
The end of the day came along and Felicia was rushing at her locker. Jamie walked by with his bag on one shoulder. He whistled and tapped at the watch on his wrist as he walked past her. She rolled her eyes, closing her locker. She followed behind him out to the car, climbing in. He sighed loudly, shaking his head as he shifted the car to drive.
"Where do you wanna go?" He asked before he drove onto the road.
"Let's just drive around and talk." She suggested.
And that's what they did. Felicia watched Jamie as he drove. She could tell he didn't feel right here. She knew he missed back home, but that wasn't a good place for him. He stayed focused on the road as he drive. He knew something was up. Felicia wasn't the type to just ask for the day with him. They were close, but they weren't this kind of close. He took a deep breath and looked over at her. She smiled at him as they met eyes.
"Any reason you're watching me like some creep?" He teased.
"Just admiring how little beauty you got and how much I got." She shot back.
Jamie laughed as he drove. He pulled into some restaurant parking lot. He parked at looked at her. She furrowed her brows at him. He sighed.
"What's wrong, Felicia? I know you're not doing this out of the kindness in your heart because there's none of that." He taunted.
She rolled her eyes. "I'm just, I don't know, worried about you." She admitted.
He let out a laugh. "Why? I'm fine."
"You're not yourself, Jamie." She frowned.
"Yeah, I think I am." He argued.
"I've known you for a lot of years. I can tell you're different." She stated.
"You also left me for a few." He hissed.
She inhaled. "I didn't want to be left with dad, you chose to stay." She spat.
"And you let me stay alone with him, knowing how he was." Jamie shook his head.
"I was twelve! All I wanted to do was be with mom!" She cried.
"I was fourteen and all of my siblings abandoned me." He crossed his arms.
She shook her head. "Do you want me to find you a girlfriend or something? You sound needy." She snarled.
"I need my sister to stop being such a bitch and to get over herself." He retaliated.
"I've been no such thing to you, Jamie. C'mon." She shook her head.
"Not to me, Felicia. To other people!" He yelled. "Sometimes, I'm honestly ashamed of you. The way you act towards people is pathetic."
"Sorry. I forgot you're the only one who can have reason for being the way you are." She scoffed.
"The way I am?"
"Your whole 'battered and bruised' act. You act like you've got the shittiest end in the family." She explained.
"Moving to Toronto and being spoiled to no end. Hard life." He mocked.
"Mom never being home, because she was too busy with her new life for her kids, so we got money. Mom spending more time worrying and carrying about Jordie and his hockey." She listed. He stayed silent. "This entire family is shit. It's not just you."
They sat in silence. Jamie turned the car on and backed out. Felicia watched him in confusion. He just drove without a word. She was waiting for him to say something but nothing came from him.
"Where are we going?" She spoke.
"To find some ice cream place so we can both cheer up." He explained.
She tried to glare at him but a smile spread across his face. He caught a glimpse of it and he smiled as well. She shook her head.
"We're stupid." She sighed, leaning back.
"But we're probably the most attractive siblings at the school." He smirked.
"Minus Jordie." She added.
"Minus Jordie." Jamie agreed. He tapped Felicia cheek, earning a whack from her. He just laughed. "Love ya, Kid." "Shut up." She pretend to get nauseous. He fake glared at her. "You too, McChubbs."
"Hey, watch it." He warned.
